Star Wars Dance Off – Does It Make You Happy Or Angry?

written by John Chow on July 26, 2009

Make Money!

I admit, I’m a bigger Star Trek fan than I am a Star Wars fan. However, when it comes to licensing, I have to give George Lucas the edge. It seems the man has no limit nor shame. This includes licensing his Star Wars characters to a dance-off for your entertainment dollars. Star Wars purists will be shocked by the horror they’re about to experience. Everyone else will have a good laugh.

The highlight of the hilarious Hyperspace Hoopla that concludes each day of Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Dance-Off with the Star Wars Stars during which Star Wars characters get down to popular music. The 2009 playlist includes hits from the ’80′s and ’90s and is not to be missed.

If wasting 12 minutes of your life that you’ll never get back isn’t enough, then why not waste another minute and watch Lord Darth Vader doing the Thriller from Michael Jackson.

I guess you cant blame Lucas, he is just filling a need and making money from it. Somewhat amusing, mostly sad. More a trek fan myself as well, but wouldn't pay to see anyone dance like that...lol

Hi,John, I am a student of Alex Jeffreys.I came to your blog following his advice and have to say I am very excited. I learned a lot from Alex and hope to learn a lot from you.
Thank you so much!

hahaha...go star wars!=) it makes me happy..laughing

I think that star wars and everything else connected to it made a lot of people happy in time. it shows how space exploration can be a source of inspiration for great stories.

amusing but not funny...

Good lord!

George Lucas should be bloody ashamed of this!

That was actually pretty cool. Woulda been cool if they had Darth Maul or the Emperor though.

I wonder why Star War was never be a favorite show in India.

The thriller dance was super, I saw it thrice already :)

Anyway, back to business again...

Yea, that was pretty much a waste of 12 minutes.

fiuh . pass this one

I'm a starwars fan and I like the video.

haha...nice..a must see for star wars fans indeed

Haha, had a good laugh at this. Look at them making a fool of themselves...

Haha Chewbacca that's funny. At least the music is good :)

This was great! What a perfect start to the week... posting the video to facebook so others can enjoy it too. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a star wars fan and I'm afraid to admit that after watching that it's lost a few points in my book. There is no need to go that extreme.

I'm exactly the opposite. I'm a huge Star Wars fan. Not much of a Star Trek. The Darth Thriller reminds me of the dude on Britains Got Talent 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8vP1c3iZYc

Nice video, thanks for the share. Haven't seen it before.

Doesn't make me angry at all, quite comical in fact.

Why, John? Why? Is this to get back at BlueFur? Please tell me it is...

Get back us for what? We did not make his server die.

I'm a big Star Wars fan, but my life is too short to watch that 12 minute video to the end :) The 1-minute with Darth Vader was cool though.

I like both Star Wars and Star Strek.

I'm not a big fan of both Star Wars and Star Strek, but it's interesting to watch.

Regards,
Lee

OMG, that is sooo bad that it is good again! BTW, glad to see you up and running again! SY

Your blog is running fairly well this morning, first time in 3 days or so though.

While I'm a bigger Star Wars fan than most, that was definitely not something I'd be into. Wow.

It cost $80 to get into that place? No way!

Yea, it's $80 to get in but, you do get a lot more to do than watch a stupid Star Wars dance off.

Just $80? come on, from where you got this reading :)

Dude it costs way too much to get into that place to be hemmed up by that nonsense.

too funny I'm more of a Star Trek fan too

This video is quite old now, but I can still watch it over and over. How can a Star Wars fan not love this?

Exactly. Any good Star Wars fan loves seeing Darth Vader do anything. I think Darth Vader in a speedo might be too much but this is totally awesome.

Darth Vader in a speedo kind of takes the mystique from Darth. I don't think Lucas would go for that.

Posting seems to work. How about comments?
