A couple of days ago, I used MOBIFY to create a version of John Chow dot Com that would work better on iPhones and other mobile devices. One of the nice feature of MOBIFY is it allows you to insert Google and AdMob analytics so you can see how well the mobile site is doing. While it has only been two days, the stats are encouraging and I want to share them with you.
Please keep in mind that this is really only one full day of stats. The mobile version launched on the evening of June 9 and got 27 page views. This increased to 176 view the next day. Today’s stats are not fully available yet but it looks like it will beat yesterday so things are heading in the right direction.
Unfortunately, I can’t compare these stats to what the blog did before I made the mobile version since I didn’t have a custom mobile URL for it. My guess is traffic heading to the blog from mobile devices will continue to increase over the next while as more users discover that they can read my blog with their mobile phones.
According to AdMob, there are over 100 million Internet enable mobile devices (mostly iPhones). This is a very sizable market that is only going to keeping growing. Like all things Internet, the people who will make the most money out of it will be the early adopters. I’m hope you’re one of them.

Igor Faletski, the co-founder of MOBIFY, will be one of the presenters at tonight’s Ideas On Tap networking event at the Commodore Ballroom in downtown Vancouver. If you’re going, make sure you cheer for him because I want him to win.

One of the most common complaint (or excuse) I hear from potential new bloggers is they don’t know how to install WordPress. Terms like FTP and CPanel are like a foreign language and setting up a database might as well be setting up the space shuttle for a launch. Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...
