Step 1 of Launching a Membership Site

written by John Chow on April 28, 2009

Build Your Online Business Now

Have you ever wondered why some people release a product and it sells like hot cakes and other products don’t sell at all? Well, my buddy Yaro Starak has just released a short video that reveals a very simple technique to find out what people want, so your next product will be a best seller. It’s called the Blue-Sky video and you can watch it below.

The technique is extremely easy to do and I’m sure you will receive some incredible insights from it. Yaro uses this simple idea each time he launches one of his membership sites. It’s useful because you can find out what people are actually willing to pay money for, rather than waste all that time creating a product and then finding out no one wants it. Simple ideas are often the best, and this is definitely the case here. Enjoy the video.

The video is great, the ideas are cute and could be taken into consideration by everyone who wants to be successful.

Instead --use already established sites such as Facebook to market. It works much better than creating a new one. Unless you have nothing else to do and have money to invest.
My friend--its yaro or john who will be making money from this. Not you.
Just think for a minute..Will you be able to create a membership site and make money as easy they are saying..Yes Yaro will tell you how he made $$$$$, but that's his story, and you will be paying for that.
Again this is my honest view. You guys are grown up and better do some homework before jumping on anything.
Good Luck..
p.s. I m not going against Yaro or John. They are doing what they are supposed to.

Internetsalsa’s last blog post: Are you loyal to Twitter?

Are you kidding? Use Facebook for this? You must have a lot to learn about branding.

TYCP Entertainment Magazine’s last blog post: Courtney Van Dusen Interview

May be TYCP...May be you can teach us about branding..
I do manage some major sites and sites like FB have been good.
I do not use FB a lot but I do use sometimes and its worth it.
My point here is different. From all the comments I see here in this blog, it seems that majority of them are still struggling to see $$$. So I do not see a point for them to start a membership site and dream something thats not practical.

Internetsalsa’s last blog post: Are you loyal to Twitter?

Thanks John for this video. Yaro's insights are really helpful. The technique for launching a Membership Site seems useful and powerful! More power!

I agree with what you write, I felt weak in analyzing a product and you have reminded me

thank you john, I want to enjoy a successful blogger who sell products online

Yaro Starak is Professional blogger always comes up with TON of useful E-books & Videos. I am sure this edition of membership site plan will help lots of guys who are planning to launch that kind of website.

the dude doesn't even have an Australian accent!!!!

His Australian accent is loud & clear. You must have a lot of wax in your ears or something.

Not a fan of Yaro. His content gives the basic common sense stuff you can get many places for free. If you want to give your money away for a seemingly hand to hold then this is for you.

Michael@TheBloggerSource’s last blog post: Reasons To Create A “Best Of” Post

You should pay a professional to hold your hand. That is the fastest way to success. You can learn from his mistakes. It is money well spent.

As a new blogger, my focus is to build that redership, which I'm starting to realise is more challenging than I thought. I'm definitely an optimist, but also a realist, and believe, it does take time to get subscribers, no matter how good your content is, or what your niche is. As you all know, there is so much to do, seo, getting traffic, social media, other marketing, besides the writng. As Yaro says, it may take up to a year, to get several thousand readers. I certainly hope to have a decent number of readers before that, but I love learning about how others have been successful. So that, when I'm ready for something like a membership site, I will be ready to take action.

It's a great video from Yaro who is one of the most important bloggers just like you are.

Thanks John.

Nice video but I got a little bored watching it :)

We can talk a lot orless but you can make money online in 2 ways: selling your product or selling someone's product.

Money Magazine’s last blog post: Cherry Shares

Cool video, it will work for some people.

Too bad I don't have sound on this computer to listen to the video, but from what I can tell is that he's trying to tell us A lost secret on how to make money.

The make money online experiment’s last blog post: Making Money Online - Possible??

John Chow and Yaro Starak teach the most comprehensive, learning experience about making money on the Internet. And I've read many. They never promote overnight success, but repeatedly state that it took them years of study, making mistakes, tweaking and refining to be where they are today. Thanks guys, I'm learning every day. Errol.

I totally agree with you.

TYCP Entertainment Magazine’s last blog post: Courtney Van Dusen Interview

Interesting video but tell me again why I would want to belong to membership site when I can get that information here or most any marketing blog?

Rick Vaughn’s last blog post: Swine Flu Mania!

The main reason is the membership site will provide everything you need in one place, instead of you spending weeks and months searching for it on the Net.

Thanks John. I see that it's free, so I'mma grab my copy! Yay! :)

Exposing SEO Techniques’s last blog post: Be MrDefinite.com’s Distinguished Guest Blogger!

it works for some and dont work for others - it's merely perserverence and how much you want to make it

they do state the obvious but i think sometimes it's the obvious that gets overlooked because everybody is trying hard to find that "secret" to making it when it's really no secret, just the obvious

and at that i'll leave with a little quote from the great one himself "Be water my friend." -Bruce Lee

Thanks John for sharing this video from Yaro who is making thousands of dollars just like you are. I will grab my copy later on.

Cheers,
Julius

How to make money on the Internet:

1) Pay Darren Howse, Shoemoney, and John Chow to tell their zombie slaves to join your mailling list. Lure them with the offer of a free eBook that will tell them how to make MILLIONS.

2) Spam the hell out of your mailing list.

3) ????

4) PROFIT!!!!

All these guys are like online Amway Diamonds...

They state the obvious without saying anything.

Their target audiance is the Amyway crowd that gets sucked in and wants to make it... they buy all tapes and read all the (blogs in this case) and never go anywhere because they have no money to get started.

Then how do you explain the people that made money just from listening to what John and/or Yaro had to say? Because I've come across plenty of people like that & some of them didn't even have that much money to start with.

I'll try it someday, when my blog popularity will increase enought to start such business :)

This membership concept sounds great, but I don't think it'll work for me

Now you know why a mailing list is so important.

fas’s last blog post: 6 Make Money From Home Ideas

Yes its a bit more difficult in the marketing niche, simply because there is so much noise. Unless our membership site is unique, drop out rates are pretty high..

I agree with Aman. Great concepts, but if you don't already have strong readership, I don't think it will work.

Jeff Lee’s last blog post: ICEX 09: Jeff Raunig Interview

I agree with both of you [ Aman and Jeff ] I still wonder how people establish a huge readership and membership base starting from Zero. For instance when i started my blogging Yaro RSS base was at 10k and now he has a base of 50K , i wonder what formula works for doing such wonders.

It works for him since he is giving some free ebook and some software for free. this is how he has reached that number.

Paulubiadas’s last blog post: Download the free copy of the MasterPlan

It got to be something else, I am giving free ebooks and softwares but I do not have a50k mailing list yet.

Marketing Business Review’s last blog post: How I Got 250 Twitter Followers In 40 Minutes And Reach Over 2000 Twitter Followers

I think it depends on the kind of membership site you're doing & what you decide to offer.

TYCP Entertainment Magazine’s last blog post: Courtney Van Dusen Interview

I can only see a return if you have a strong following. For the avg blogger starting out, a membership site is going to be hard, uphill battle. Personally, I did think about a few pay/member sites in a certain niche (not blog related) and this video did touch some points i should look into further.
