Super Affiliate Racing at Affiliate Summit West

Last year at Affiliate Summit West, dk failed to get me dinner reservations at Joël Robuchon. To make it up this year, he and Ryan Niddel of All Phase Hosting tried to get me to kill myself by driving a $300,000 Ferrari 458 Italia around the Las Vegas Speedway. To make sure I would have some competition, they invited Shoemoney and a few of my readers.

While the main race featured me, Shoe, Ryan and dk, 15 readers/followers/guests were also given keys to over $2 million worth of Ferrari and Lamborghini supercars. The winner of the race would be given $1,000 to donate to his favorite charity.

Everyone’s on the Team John Chow bus heading to the Las Vegas Speedway for some fast and furious racing.

At the driver’s briefing. We were given a quick lesson on what to do and what not to do. The number 1 rule is: DON’T CRASH THE CAR!!!!

Jane Orlov is looking good inside the Lamborghini LP 570-4 Superleggera. The car has more power than her home country. I couldn’t drive it because I was too tall for it. Score one for Ferrari for making a car that can fit tall guys.

The weather in Las Vegas was extremely cold, and that made for a less than ideal racing conditions. My Ferrari almost lost control going into turn 4 because I went in too hot and lifted off the gas while in the turn. This made the rear end come around and I would have spun off the track if the 458’s electronic nannies (traction control system) didn’t kicked in to save my butt. In the end, Shoemoney beat me by half a second, Ryan came third, and dk came last.

I want to thank All Phase Hosting for hosting the event. Everyone had a great time and I can’t wait to see what crazy plans they have to top this.
