Leo - I have no idea how Technorati does its rating other than measuring how many sites link to you. I think how many users have your in their favorites might factor into it as well.

Hi John!

I had a few teething problems with Technorati initially, and like Derrich, my ranking was quite lowly.

However, without any pushin’ or shuvin’ from me, all seems well.

I went from 900k a couple of months ago to 490k earlier this week and on the back of some recent good publicity, I’ve gone up to the 390k mark.

So I mustn’t grumble too much!

Well i dont know how technorati actually arrive at their rankings.Im fairly new to blogging and technorati.When i registered with technorati i was ranked just over a million and now few weeks later im well over 2 million.Whats going on guys?

Derrich - You don’t need to be reigstered with Technorati in order to be ranked or have your links counted. The number of blogs linking to you is just an estimate.

John, I saw your site while at Technorati. I am very new at this so it soothed my ruffled feathers that a more visible blog was in the same boat as I and I was not the only one having a bit of a problem with them. All is now fixed..no email either though..Nice site by the way, I will be back..m

I’m not real clear about how Technorati gets its info. It ranks me over 1,000,000 and says I’m only linked on 2 blogs. I know for a fact I’m linked on at least 10. Do those other blogs need to be registered with Technorati? At one point in my blog’s life (about 3 weeks ago…and only about 4 weeks old), I was ranked just above 700,000. Makes no sense to me.
