The 8-Bit Whale At The Vancouver Convention Centre

I thought that big blue ink drop at the Vancouver Convention Centre was strange (it was removed during the Olympics) but they’ve managed to top themselves by putting up what appears to the an 8-bit version of a pacific killer whale at the west side on the convention center, near the Olympics cauldron. Sally and I went to check it out.

The “blue ink drop” is a water drop (ie rain).

The pixelated orca is neat. Though the area will be nice once they finish the construction around the Olympic flame as they are lighting it for Canada day.

I my self have a photo of it too: Pixel Whale

    1. Well it’s probably something very close to lego if not it. But after all, i think this whale would be sh*tting bricks 😀

  13. A really interesting one John 🙂

  14. That’s hilarious! The pictures literally look like you took a really low-res image of a whale, stretched it, and planted it on top of that other photo.

  15. It’s blurry, can you adjust your focus for me?

    (jk of course) 🙂

But it is giving me a headache, so I’m off to read about your ban with Google, and subsequent comeback.

That’s quite a pig whale. If I had been there I would had thought about 2 things:
    1. I want to hug it… but it’s too big
    2. Will it fall on me?
