The "nearly frictionless" mouse wheel (which spins for about 6-7 seconds when the mouse is new), is not so frictionless anymore after a few weeks when it only spins for 1-2 seconds, tops. My first one started doing that after a month, so I returned it for warranty replacement thinking it was just a bad egg, but the new one is just the same - a few weeks down the line it now grinds to a halt after 1-2 seconds of spinning. It only spins properly when I hold it upside down, suggesting the axle is warped. Furthermore the bottom is extremely prone to scratching, looks like a freakin' skating rink. I don't abuse my gadgets, in fact I treat them with utmost care, but the VX just isn't built to last. The wheel on the desktop model MX Revolution, which I bought at the same time, still spins flawlessly after several hours of use. Back to the drawing table, Logitech... I use my desktop mouse since its a wireless Logitech and really convinient. You sure you don't want to use that mouse as your next contest prize John???
