The CES Kick Off Party

written by John Chow on January 8, 2007

How to make $593 in less than one hour

Here are some photos from my 2007 CES kick of party. The party started at 9PM and went on till after midnight. The party is still going on because OCZ Technology booked a private VIP table at the Studio 54 nightclub downstairs at the MGM Grand. I decided not to go because I have to too much to do tomorrow and need some sleep. However, tomorrow I will head out with OCZ for a night out on the town. I doubt I will be getting much done this week. I still need to pick up my press pass! Enjoy the pics. See you tomorrow.

John,

Looks like you are having a ball there – enjoy.

Between was reading elsewhere that there has been a lot of discussion on Mobile TV – if the area interests you throw in some updates.

Wow, I donno what I was doing in that picture… (Fourth one down, guy in the red shirt) Great Party John but we need more Smirnoff Ice next time.

Jon Daniel January 8, 2007 at 3:44 am

Oops sorry about the bad link, I’m still working all the stuff out of my system.

The party was a lot of fun, and the skyloft suite was amazing. LOL, I didn’t even notice you still had that glowing headband on in the group photo.

Aaron January 8, 2007 at 3:47 am

some hot girls…

Nate W. January 8, 2007 at 4:20 am

Wow… I need to get in on this. Those girls! Damn! And John, you better go take some pics of that CCX!

HMTKSteve January 8, 2007 at 4:48 am

How can that be a party when everyone is still dressed?

What I would like to see is close-ups of the placards I see in the foreground.

Looks like fun! I was going to come to CES this year but things didn’t work out right. Maybe next year I can get trashed with John Chow and friends. Brew is on me.

feverinlove January 8, 2007 at 5:38 am

I’ll take 2nd girl on the second photo.

Miha January 8, 2007 at 5:39 am

Wow, is the second picture real? Please post some more!

CES 2008 here I come… ;-)

ThomasDM January 8, 2007 at 6:31 am

Looks like a nice party :)

I hope to go to CES for the first time within a couple of years.

Tyler January 8, 2007 at 6:45 am

Is it me or do computer geeks know how to throw decent parties?

Leftblank January 8, 2007 at 7:27 am

Well Tyler, if I look at this party I think you’re perfectly right.

Looks nice John, keep ‘em coming ;)

Stew January 8, 2007 at 7:27 am

Stylish headband John.

I’m not sure if my posts are ever read, but if you do by chance happen to read this post: Can you write a post on webmaster related events that you think are important to attend to take your skills to the next level? For example: PubCon, SES, etc..

Thanks
Stew

Stew January 8, 2007 at 7:28 am

Sorry to double post, but referencing my last post, I ‘m very interested to be more active in the SEO and development communities, and would absolutely love to attend some of these webmaster shows, but since I’m up in Canada, traveling would be extremely pricey, so it would have to be an annual or biannual thing at the most.

Cheers
Stew

What Miha said. Looks like fun.

Ed Lau January 8, 2007 at 9:09 am

Wow, you actually got hot girls to show up this time rather than those old people that always show up, lol.

My New Choice January 8, 2007 at 12:07 pm

Simply amazing….I thought I would want to see pictures but it is not making it easy to sit here in my dreary office. Enjoy!

Alex Becker January 8, 2007 at 1:11 pm

not bad at all.

Adam January 8, 2007 at 1:51 pm

so I think what you’re telling me is that if you make lots of money you can get hot girls too? sounds like a plan to me!

John Chow January 8, 2007 at 3:00 pm

Stew – I have never attended a webmaster type trade show but the one I think I will check out in the future is AdTech.

Adam – You don’t need money to get hot women, but I hear it helps. :)

Michael Kwan January 8, 2007 at 6:23 pm

Hot girls + plenty of alcohol = good times

Max January 9, 2007 at 11:16 pm

John should start following the hiring practices of OCZ :)

Ryan January 10, 2007 at 6:56 am

John, you sure do know how to start things off right!

Stephen January 11, 2007 at 3:16 am

The party was awesome. Looking forward to co-sponsoring it again next year ;)

Jane January 14, 2007 at 12:41 pm

You must be going through some serious R&R time right now. With all that partying, I’d be out for probably a week. But then again, I’m a light weight :)

Leftblank January 14, 2007 at 1:02 pm

I’m wondering if that hot OCZ pc was also part of the deal ;)
