The Exhibit Hall – Affiliate Summit West 2011

written by John Chow on January 11, 2011

The exhibit hall at the 2011 Affiliate Summit 2011 in Las Vegas is where all the action takes place. With record breaking attendance, the 2011 ASW was the biggest show to date. The exhibit hall was buzzing with activities. There were over 100 booths competing to get the attention of the show attendees.

You can find nearly every company that has anything to do with the affiliate marketing industry on the show floor. The exhibit hall offers a great way for me to catch up with some of the affiliate networks that I deal with and meet new ones as well. When it come to building relationships, face to face networking is still where it’s at and a show like the Affiliate Summit is a great place to do it. The exhibit hall fills up very quickly. The best time to visit if you actually want to talk to the exhibitors is towards the end of the day. It’s not as busy then.

With the camera in hand, Syed and I went into the big hall to see what kind of trouble we can get into. Some of the highlights include getting the high score at Share A Sale booth, drinking and boothing, spinning the wheel for a USB drive and taking over an exhibitor’s booth to promote our own stuff. Enjoy!

Thanks for another amazing report from Vegas John. I really enjoy seeing all these pictures and videos.

I hope to be attending next year.

I’m enjoying the updates as well! Truly a great conference and hope to attend next time!

d3so January 11, 2011 at 6:36 pm

it seems that alcohol was the best giveaway.

Penny Bid Auction Sites January 11, 2011 at 7:42 pm

Alcohol + Parties + Vegas = Affiliate Summit

Abhik January 11, 2011 at 9:28 pm

The equation should be..
Alcohol + Parties = Vegas :)

d3so January 11, 2011 at 11:00 pm

Yeah, that pretty much sums up what goes on at affiliate summit. too bad i missed it.

D3so,

I think that you asre missing the point as does Abhik and The Auction guy.

The parties etc. aren’t the point of the event at all but only a small part of it.

Going there for that reason alone would be less than smart.

Harshad January 11, 2011 at 10:54 pm

Me too enjoyed the videos. This one was the best among all.

Hidden Object Games January 12, 2011 at 12:54 am

I agree with you

It was the best of them all really.

I wonder how much a booth costs????

d3so January 11, 2011 at 6:37 pm

I don’t know exact numbers but I heard that it was expensive.

Tampa Web Design January 11, 2011 at 6:40 pm

I remember when I used to work for a satellite company we paid $3,000 for a booth at a small trade show. I can’t imagine what this would cost. I bet it could really jump start a company though if you had something great to offer.

relationship advice January 12, 2011 at 10:53 am

Definitely way out of my price range! :(

Trisha Lyn Fawver January 15, 2011 at 1:07 am

The Affiliate Summit site has rates – guess it starts at $5700

Shawn Collins January 15, 2011 at 5:59 am

We created the Meet Market for companies to have a presence without the expense of a booth – that starts at $2,585.

Neon SRT4 February 2, 2011 at 8:20 am

For a satellite company, you got paid $3000? That is pretty a high money.

Penny Bid Auction Sites January 11, 2011 at 7:43 pm

Ridiculous, serious, money!

Harshad January 11, 2011 at 10:53 pm
d3so January 11, 2011 at 11:01 pm

That could be a huge waste of money.

Tampa Web Design January 12, 2011 at 11:57 am

Thanks for the link! Whoa pretty expensive, but not as bad as I thought

Neil Patel January 11, 2011 at 5:27 pm

Next time, I will have to join you and Syed and we will see how much free stuff all of us get combined. ;-)

d3so January 11, 2011 at 6:39 pm

I wonder if John will give any free stuff away from there.

Syed Balkhi January 11, 2011 at 7:54 pm

Haha Neil… I think we can rack up a good chunk. Let’s do it at Blog World lol.

Abhik January 11, 2011 at 9:32 pm

Hmm.. it feels good when you get something for free :)

PPC Ian January 11, 2011 at 6:18 pm

Seems like a great expo hall! John always gets the awesome free stuff. :-)

The aisles seem unusually wide between the exhibits which is great for the times when there’s a big crowd.

Brad January 11, 2011 at 6:28 pm

I would like to attend this thing, i would just love to be there. The marilyn monroe look alike is sooo hot….. my main reason would be the affiliate marketing of course….

Penny Bid Auction Sites January 11, 2011 at 7:37 pm

I’d love to quiz the Google Affiliate Network guys on why they hate affiliates and don’t want us on Adwords any longer. Interesting, don’t even understand why they’d own an affiliate network at this point. Do they even have a clue?

Harshad January 11, 2011 at 10:56 pm

I know their answer… “We need good user experience”.

Abhik January 11, 2011 at 9:31 pm

Nice share John..

fas January 12, 2011 at 7:56 am

John man your crazy, love the way you take over :-)

Domain Nitro January 12, 2011 at 9:37 am

I’m sure they were happy to get you to take over their booth – more publicity and recognition! They were probably hoping you would mention the booth sponsor on the blog as well
:)

relationship advice January 12, 2011 at 10:52 am

Wow! Marilyn Monroe was there! :D

Email List Building January 14, 2011 at 1:15 am

It’s amazing that she’s still recognized after all those years.

I did think it might be supposed to be her double but I wasn’t sure.

Kirk Taylor January 12, 2011 at 10:59 am

The show floor was much easier to navigate than last years. Everything flowed better and there seemed to be more diverse offers than last year.

Email List Building January 12, 2011 at 1:02 pm

Hey Kirk,

It’s good to know that things asre getting better. Better and faster flow and more diverse offers make it sound like it really was a great place to be even without the partying.

Missy Ward January 13, 2011 at 11:03 am

Great seeing you John and thanks for making yourself available for the Charity luncheon!

ikki January 13, 2011 at 6:26 pm

john is aprty after party, nice

Trisha Lyn Fawver January 15, 2011 at 1:10 am

Glad you had a good laugh in our booth after the expo hall was closing! We have a ton of coupons available in our coupon feed for affiliates, but not for those merchants. Cheers!

nintendo 3ds January 30, 2011 at 5:59 am

Is everybody allowed to be at these events? and you bet everyone was there at the exhibit hall. Saw clickbooth, also saw google (strange though) and another thing that appeared strange is no mention of clickbank in the post. Were they there?

Neon SRT4 February 2, 2011 at 8:19 am

Excellent Party. Is everybody allowed to be into these events, or the persons who only get invited?

Affiliate Home Business March 8, 2011 at 6:54 pm

beautiful monroe!
