The Night Before CES Party

The 2009 Consumer Electronics Show starts tomorrow and that means tonight is The Night Before CES Party. Stephen Fung and I have been hosting The Night Before CES Party for many years now. It has become known as the party to attend before the big show.

For the 2009 party, we’ll be going to the penthouse at the Palms. This suite, which starts at $5,000 per night, offers more than 3,000 square feet of living space and an amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip. It also features a game room with pool table, living room, dining room, full island gourmet kitchen with fireplace and Five 42″ plasma televisions.

There’s also a spa pool in the balcony but I doubt any guests are going to take a swim unless they get drunk. Hmmm, on second thought, I think a lot of people will be getting wet tonight! Here are some pics of the party suite for your drooling pleasure.

If you were one of the lucky few to received an invitation to The Night Before CES Party, we look forward to seeing you. If you didn’t get an invite, please don’t bother to crash our party. This party is by strict invite only and Palms security won’t let anyone in who’s not on the list.

  1. Now THAT is a baller suite – WOW!!! I wish I was invited – definitely Jealous John!!

    1. Who else is jealous right now?

      1. I am very jealous…is that how much the suites are going per night in Las Vegas? I rather go to New York Manhanttan for $185 a night.

        1. John Chow says:

You can get rooms pretty cheap in Vegas. But a penthouse suite at the Palms is another matter. As a Red Card holder, I can get a suite at the Wynn for $129 per night.

          1. Upstarty says:

            $129 a night?!

My local Best Western charges $90 a night (without a reservation). Think I can bargain with them? If not, can I borrow your ID for a few nights?

          2. Woooooooooow this is amazing.

      2. I am! Oh man! That’s insane! I think I may just drive up there and join you guys for a drink!

That suite is gorgeous! Post photos of the contents of the bar in the suite as well. I’m sure lots of people would be interested to see what they stock in a suite like that. 🙂

      3. I am! It looks so insane & the bathroom is a dream one.

      1. Ha, trying to get a free pass are you?

    2. Edgar says:

Hell yea, See you there John, and thanks for the invite.

    3. Ben Pei says:

I am sure you wont wanna leave that place ..

  2. Josten says:

    goodness thats beautiful

  3. I think it is great that you posted clear pictures of the suite, and also added in the detailed floor plan. It can be enjoyable to analyze a floor plan, to see what it looked like to a designer before it was created. The invite-only status of the event assists in maintaining its quality.

  4. What a beautiful suite! I’ve stayed in a few presidential suites over the years, but nothing quite like that and not in Vegas. Enjoy the party, CES in general, and don’t get too drunk…but have a long island for me 🙂

  5. This looks like the setting of a movie I saw once. Crazy!

    Have fun!

    1. Do you remember which film it was?

  6. My condo is nicer than that fake POS vegas wannabe dump

    1. jtGraphic says:

My house definitely isn’t that nice :-/

  7. Mario says:

    Nice pictures John.

In my opinion, the best one is the spa with the balcony.

    Mario

  8. Jamie Harrop says:

Palms security? Bah. I want to see you on the door, John. 🙂

    Jamie

  9. Jovan says:

  10. That is one amazing looking suite! I am definitely jealous!

  11. Tyler says:

  12. wow that looks amazing

  13. Ian Fernando says:

o you havent heard of the IANteractive Party by me yet have you chow? =P

    1. John Chow says:

The IANteractive Party is for sure a must attend party. Getting that list is even harder than The Night Before CES Party!

  14. ScoobySnacks says:

one day i’ll make it to CES! heh, and maybe even AEE too 😛
but until then, i guess i’ll just have to settle for coverage on G4TV.
    awww.

/Scooby goes back to the Mystery Machine

  15. I just wanted to celebrate the fact that I am now a TOP COMMENTATOR here. Woo!

    1. And I want to celebrate the fact that I got more comments than you in half the time 😛 haha..

  16. Al Young says:

Looks nice. Maybe next year I’ll get an invite.

  17. Ruben Ricart says:

  20. Jennifer V. says:

Wow! Talk about wide open spaces! I especially like that spa pool on the private balcony.

  22. Hey John, I see you’re trying out the pop-up thingy?

    1. John Chow says:

      It’s been there for months.

  23. uwak says:

Thinks very great and very comportable…..woww….. too expensive bos

  24. MLDina says:

Hey I thought you weren’t going to be in Vegas John!!! Are you there now?

  25. wow. i wish i have chance to book that suit even for 1 night.

  26. That suite is hot. I love the view & the master bedroom.

  27. Pheak Tol says:

the pictures of the suite sure does remind me of something from the movies. but man how it would feel to just sit there and check out that view.

  28. I am continents away from Las Vegas.. So you might not see me for years until I make a few million dollars online and settle there 😛

  29. Stephen says:

The party was a huge success. We had a few people ask for you like Karen. Everyone had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, there was no Smirnoff Ice 😉

I’ll have pictures and a couple videos tomorrow but so many people wanted to talk to me, I didn’t really get a chance to take that many pictures. I’m sure Kwan has a bunch too. We’ll have a write up on Futurelooks soon.

  30. Mikael says:

$5000 per night? Even though I have seen very few things as cool as that suite I also think you can rent luxury at too high a price. 🙂

  31. Ben Pei says:

OH dude I swear my new house is gonna be as good as this!

  32. Zac Johnson says:

Sweet looking pad for the party. Sorry I couldn’t make it out sooner. Next year, it’s on!

  33. Joy Smith says:

    Wow Nice. Enjoy!

  34. Harry Tran says:

$5,000 a night sure does buy you a very nice luxury. The place looks amazing, the pool is what dreams are made of, and I’m sure it doesn’t get too chilly outside with the hot Nevada desert air. Than again it did snow this last year in Vegas.

    1. One day, I’ll have a penthouse like that, one day… hehehe 🙂

  35. Kedoa says:

    Wow, amazing swimming pool!

  36. Dot_Commie says:

If Joel Comm is there, he’ll sell his pass for 49$. The pass gets you in the suite for 20 minutes, then he sells it again. But wait, there’s more! Joel will personally greet you at the door and shake your hand! Still not convinced? If Joel can sell his pass 100 times that night, he’ll donate 25$ to his mother in law’s blog!

  37. Paul B says:

John, seeing as how you’re at CES, what do you think of the 3D porn. I couldn’t make it this year but a couple of my mates are going nuts over the “possibilities”?

  38. CK says:

You’ve officially reached the big time if you’re staying in that suite.

  39. al says:

getting wet eh? i see what you’ve done there

  40. SEO Tips says:

    That place looks amazing!

    1. Amazing is an understatement, I think, paradise will be the proper word for it. 🙂

  41. Definitely the Big Time! Killer view.

  42. 100WordRants says:

I love modern design. This encompasses it to a “T”

Would love to own something like that one day. Dream big right?!
