The Night Before CES Party

written by John Chow on January 7, 2009

How to make $593 in less than one hour

The 2009 Consumer Electronics Show starts tomorrow and that means tonight is The Night Before CES Party. Stephen Fung and I have been hosting The Night Before CES Party for many years now. It has become known as the party to attend before the big show.

For the 2009 party, we’ll be going to the penthouse at the Palms. This suite, which starts at $5,000 per night, offers more than 3,000 square feet of living space and an amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip. It also features a game room with pool table, living room, dining room, full island gourmet kitchen with fireplace and Five 42″ plasma televisions.

There’s also a spa pool in the balcony but I doubt any guests are going to take a swim unless they get drunk. Hmmm, on second thought, I think a lot of people will be getting wet tonight! Here are some pics of the party suite for your drooling pleasure.

If you were one of the lucky few to received an invitation to The Night Before CES Party, we look forward to seeing you. If you didn’t get an invite, please don’t bother to crash our party. This party is by strict invite only and Palms security won’t let anyone in who’s not on the list.

Now THAT is a baller suite – WOW!!! I wish I was invited – definitely Jealous John!!

Chris Jacobson January 7, 2009 at 12:38 pm

Who else is jealous right now?

Open Call For Writers- Apply Here January 7, 2009 at 1:18 pm

I am very jealous…is that how much the suites are going per night in Las Vegas? I rather go to New York Manhanttan for $185 a night.

John Chow January 7, 2009 at 1:38 pm

You can get rooms pretty cheap in Vegas. But a penthouse suite at the Palms is another matter. As a Red Card holder, I can get a suite at the Wynn for $129 per night.

Upstarty January 7, 2009 at 6:16 pm

$129 a night?!

My local Best Western charges $90 a night (without a reservation). Think I can bargain with them? If not, can I borrow your ID for a few nights?

Terra Andersen January 7, 2009 at 5:22 pm

I am! Oh man! That’s insane! I think I may just drive up there and join you guys for a drink!

That suite is gorgeous! Post photos of the contents of the bar in the suite as well. I’m sure lots of people would be interested to see what they stock in a suite like that. :)

ZK@WebTrafficROI.com February 5, 2009 at 5:24 am

Yeah they are certainly nice and attractive rooms. I fell in love with them, just imagine my walk in that suite and in swimming pool with my favourite drink.

TYCP Entertainment Magazine January 7, 2009 at 9:59 pm

I am! It looks so insane & the bathroom is a dream one.

ZK@internet Marketing Blog January 7, 2009 at 2:10 pm

TYCP Entertainment Magazine January 7, 2009 at 10:00 pm

Ha, trying to get a free pass are you?

Edgar January 7, 2009 at 7:50 pm

Hell yea, See you there John, and thanks for the invite.

Ben Pei January 8, 2009 at 7:03 am

I am sure you wont wanna leave that place ..

Josten January 7, 2009 at 12:05 pm

goodness thats beautiful

ZK@WebTrafficROI.com February 5, 2009 at 5:26 am

They are certainly and eye catching as well. Just look at the mattress of that bed Aahhh … amazing I am feeling sleepy.

Armen Shirvanian January 7, 2009 at 12:24 pm

I think it is great that you posted clear pictures of the suite, and also added in the detailed floor plan. It can be enjoyable to analyze a floor plan, to see what it looked like to a designer before it was created. The invite-only status of the event assists in maintaining its quality.

What a beautiful suite! I’ve stayed in a few presidential suites over the years, but nothing quite like that and not in Vegas. Enjoy the party, CES in general, and don’t get too drunk…but have a long island for me :)

Steven-Sanders January 7, 2009 at 12:30 pm

This looks like the setting of a movie I saw once. Crazy!

Have fun!

TYCP Entertainment Magazine January 7, 2009 at 10:01 pm

Do you remember which film it was?

The Poker Jerk January 7, 2009 at 12:32 pm

My condo is nicer than that fake POS vegas wannabe dump

jtGraphic January 7, 2009 at 9:19 pm

My house definitely isn’t that nice :-/

ZK@WebTrafficROI.com February 5, 2009 at 5:30 am

Just labour hard and you will be able to make more beautiful than this one. Its a matter of money honey.

Mario January 7, 2009 at 12:33 pm

Nice pictures John.

In my opinion, the best one is the spa with the balcony.

Ben Pei January 8, 2009 at 7:04 am

Jamie Harrop January 7, 2009 at 12:36 pm

TYCP Entertainment Magazine January 7, 2009 at 9:58 pm

That suite is hot. I love the view & the master bedroom.

Pheak Tol January 7, 2009 at 10:20 pm

the pictures of the suite sure does remind me of something from the movies. but man how it would feel to just sit there and check out that view.

Monty - Sensonize.com January 7, 2009 at 10:48 pm

I am continents away from Las Vegas.. So you might not see me for years until I make a few million dollars online and settle there :P

Stephen January 8, 2009 at 2:22 am

The party was a huge success. We had a few people ask for you like Karen. Everyone had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, there was no Smirnoff Ice ;)

I’ll have pictures and a couple videos tomorrow but so many people wanted to talk to me, I didn’t really get a chance to take that many pictures. I’m sure Kwan has a bunch too. We’ll have a write up on Futurelooks soon.

Mikael January 8, 2009 at 6:24 am

$5000 per night? Even though I have seen very few things as cool as that suite I also think you can rent luxury at too high a price. :)

Ben Pei January 8, 2009 at 7:02 am

OH dude I swear my new house is gonna be as good as this!

ZK@WebTrafficROI.com January 8, 2009 at 9:25 am

Its amazing ….I need to construct the same suite and will use it for rent out ….

Zac Johnson January 8, 2009 at 10:07 am

Sweet looking pad for the party. Sorry I couldn’t make it out sooner. Next year, it’s on!

Joy Smith January 8, 2009 at 10:52 am

Wow Nice. Enjoy!

Harry Tran January 8, 2009 at 11:38 am

$5,000 a night sure does buy you a very nice luxury. The place looks amazing, the pool is what dreams are made of, and I’m sure it doesn’t get too chilly outside with the hot Nevada desert air. Than again it did snow this last year in Vegas.

Taris Janitens January 8, 2009 at 11:46 am

One day, I’ll have a penthouse like that, one day… hehehe :)

Kedoa January 8, 2009 at 12:50 pm

Wow, amazing swimming pool!

Dot_Commie January 8, 2009 at 3:08 pm

If Joel Comm is there, he’ll sell his pass for 49$. The pass gets you in the suite for 20 minutes, then he sells it again. But wait, there’s more! Joel will personally greet you at the door and shake your hand! Still not convinced? If Joel can sell his pass 100 times that night, he’ll donate 25$ to his mother in law’s blog!

Paul B January 9, 2009 at 6:26 am

John, seeing as how you’re at CES, what do you think of the 3D porn. I couldn’t make it this year but a couple of my mates are going nuts over the “possibilities”?

CK January 9, 2009 at 3:50 pm

You’ve officially reached the big time if you’re staying in that suite.

al January 10, 2009 at 10:50 pm

getting wet eh? i see what you’ve done there

SEO Tips January 21, 2009 at 12:08 pm

That place looks amazing!

Article Spinning January 26, 2009 at 10:53 pm

Amazing is an understatement, I think, paradise will be the proper word for it. :)

The Blogger Source January 28, 2009 at 4:17 pm

Definitely the Big Time! Killer view.

100WordRants January 28, 2009 at 9:18 pm

I love modern design. This encompasses it to a “T”
