The Offices of Today’s Leading Net Firms
Every wonder what the offices of some of today’s leading Web 2.0 companies looks like? Well, Charl Norman of Bandwidth Blog managed to snare office photos of ten leading Internet companies.
An office is the mirror of the company and what’s going on inside, the perfect way to communicate with your employees, customers and investors. Hence why so many say, your office is your face. Knowing it, we decided to make a list of the most known internet companies and see what they have to offer on the inside.
Some of the offices (like Tocquigny) looks very fancy, while others (like GigaOM) look pretty bare. It reminds me of my office. My favorite office is one from Songbird (see photos below). I need to get me an office like that!

i used to live in Taipei for a while and they are having way more earthquakes than over here in cali

Looks more like a restaurant than an office.

Reply to this commentPost a pic of your office John!
Reply to this commentI thought I’ve seen his setup before…can’t seem to find the post though…
Reply to this commentI love seeing offices where other people works. It’s funny how much money is produced out of some small one bedroom offices!
Reply to this commentLiked Tocquigny, that is sweet. Love to work in an environment like that, that is if I weren’t working at home.
Reply to this commentThis ain’t that bad. When I started my career as a web developer I was placed in the small stock room, because I was working for a retail store located in Harvard University campus. Later when the business picked we had our office. And I am glad I have gone through all those steps, learning lot, to make six figure income now a days.
Reply to this commentThose look pretty slick! Dual monitors and a beast of a Desktop are something that I’m working towards, not to mention landing a job at one of those firms!
Reply to this commentI’ll be honest. One of those swanky beautifully designed and feng shui’d offices is something I’ve wanted for years. The reality of it happening at the moment are slimmer than a sideways supermodel.
Thanks for the post John, I am now even greener with envy
Reply to this commentWe are the kings of our own kingdom
I got an idea, let’s say on a fix date each one of us here display a picture of our office. Lets say on coming auspicious 25th December. What say?
Reply to this commenton our respective blog off course.
Reply to this commentHmmm… I am down… my office is 2 feet from my house. Lol…
Reply to this commentI’ve always wandered how some of these offices looked.

Do post pics of your office!
Reply to this commentReally cool offices. I’m working towards a bad boy like that.
Reply to this commentJohn, what is you office looks like?
Reply to this commentLol… I rather stick to my apartment unless the office had an ocean view then it’d be worth working at an office. But I do like the sweet double monitor setups. I think I am getting tired of my 2 laptops.
Reply to this commentHey Cool!
Seldom get to see desks arranged like that. And I love the brick walls.. Haha … I’m crazy…
Reply to this commentDamn, some do look sweet!
Reply to this commentExcellent thanks for the mention John!
Reply to this commentSongbird was my pick as well
i wish i have my own office like the above shown in the future.
Reply to this commenti wish i have such a nice office in near future.
Reply to this commentAwsome
Good post John
Reply to this commentNice places to work :). Oh well, “leading net firms” - it is something normal, methinks, to provide an optimal environment to their employers.
Reply to this commentI like the decor… looks a lot less clinical than most offices. But I’d rather have desks grouped together with people facing each other. That way you encourage direct communication and eye contact and end up with a much more social atmosphere.
Reply to this commentI really like the google office concept. but this concept seems great as well.
Reply to this commentI like the Mac sitting in the floor
Reply to this commentHey John, thanks for stopping by Skiing at Home! I’m sure it’s because I registered for TTZ Ad’s, but I still appreciate it! I also would like to see a pic of the John Chow office.
Twitter have the right attitude, always nice to have some plants in the office - I have Orchids, although I did use to sell them so I’m biased!
Reply to this commentthe cafe house style office looks inviting.
Reply to this commentI find the Tocquigny’s office way much prettier, seems like they applied that professional and serious look of a office to 100%, LinkedIn has some nice and colorful office too.
Reply to this commentI like Linkedin and Skype’s offices, they look modern and spacey. NetVibes looks kinda crunched, i’d hate to see the full staff working in there
Reply to this commentSorry, have to bring in something off topic. Where did the batch-posts go? You know, this ones about I review John Chow, he puts 10 Links in one post… Cause I’m waiting for the post since June…
Reply to this commenta good idea for making a place of work comfortable is to add plants. The Ferrari factory has a forest in the middle. It makes people feel better. On my blog I’m growing a garden while i grow a blog. Cool combo!
Reply to this commentThe office looks pretty messy to me…but talk about how much traffic you sent bandwidthblog

Reply to this commentyeah. the office is preety messy, but they all like messing up with tech gadgets, Geek Freek Dude they are.
Reply to this commentnice offices. mine is my living room. lol.
Reply to this commentI’ve been working on my own office redesign for the past few weeks. Stupid flooring guy is going on vacation for 2 weeks now!
Reply to this commentmy “office” is my room currently…2 tables, one for the computer and another one for writing stuff. Well, the room is quite big, but still it looks messy. I’m quite neglecting order and stuff like that - I just throw things around (clothes, notebooks, books, etc)
Reply to this commentI love their style a lot but it seems a little dark for me. But I love the way the save the enery by using natural light in their office.
Reply to this commentVery high tech, 2 monitors in every desk, damn thats company must have loot of cash..
Reply to this commentHmmm, that SongBird one is quite nice. Nice and simple, but not plain.
