The ultimate sliced beef brisket sandwich is made from beef brisket that’s been slow cooking in the BBQ pit at around 210F for 12 hours. Slice the brisket, place it between the bum, add a tangy BBQ sauce, and served with a side of slaw and pit beans.
I would like to say that I made the sandwich myself but I’m not patient enough to watch over a BBQ pit for 12 hours. The sliced beef brisket sandwich is one of the many meat sandwiches offered at Memphis Blues BBQ. I got this one at their Commercial Dive location.
If you’re a vegetarian, you’ll want to stay away from this sandwich (and Memphis Blues all together). However, if you love the taste of meat, it’s pretty hard to go wrong with this sandwich. Trying to eat it while keeping your hands clean can be difficult. The sandwich is quite large and BBQ sauce will drip off. It’s a good thing Memphis has an entire roll of paper towels at every table.
Zagat Guide says the brisket is so good that you’ll sell your mother for it. I wouldn’t go that far, but I will say Memphis has the best beef brisket that I have ever eaten.
