Making it possible for put users data and information’s about them and making the global village a better place to be in. It improved the freedom and openness of the user on the net, it brought in collective intelligence by user or by group user participation. The sudden shoot up in the number of blogs, social networking sites and allied sites stands testimonial to this. It increased the interactivity of the netizens beyond the reach of the web 1.0 era

Like every new concept in this world, “Web 2.0” also had its good share of criticisms from all corners .of them the most criticized was that of the concept of viewing the web as a platform, it was criticized that web was already being views as a platform and it was just a much hyped extension of web 1.0. Most of the tech gurus’ suggested that this bubbles of “Web 2.0” will also burst just like that of the dot-com bubble.

Withstanding all the criticism that it is just hype, “Web 2.0” is here to stay, it is sure to stand the test of time. It has surely captured the imagination of millions of netizens and mainly of that of generation Y. Web 2.0 is an interesting moniker for the interactive web we have today. The internet and Web 2.0 that we have today wasn’t created or schemed by any conference it was created by companies like MS who jumped ahead of standards and innovated. By pushing technology forward in new directions. Yes, there were plenty of failures, but without failures nothing is learned.

The reality of Web 2.0 is that some people decided not to accept what was given to them and they pushed forward to create the future the way they imagined it. The web is the new Wild West and we get to shape it!

  20. Web 2.0 has certainly become more pervasive in our lives – look at all the integration of facebook, twitter, etc in our daily lives. It is definitely helping simplifying things more though, as long as we remember that these are tools to facilitate our lives and don’t end up revolving ourselves around them.

I also like that you actually know the differences because a lot of people think it just has to do with the way the graphics look now, which isn’t true.
