The Winner of The 4-Hour Workweek
written by John Chow
A huge congrats goes out to Stephanie at Poorer Than You for winning a signed copy of The 4-Hour Workweek. This has been my most successful contest yet, with over 350 replies!
If you didn’t win this time, don’t worry, I’ll be giving away another signed copy of Timothy Feeriss’ bestselling book this Wednesday. Keep an eye out for it. I should think up more creative ways to enter than just by replying to a post. Any ideas?
Congrats to Stephanie once again. I hope the book will allow you to start a new blog call Richer Than You or Work Less Than you.

JohnChow’s contests are so popular. I haven’t won any contest here YET! I believe I will win some gift later
I also hope to be the next winner……..
I won some free traffic!
Yep, that’s right. When I became one of Top Commentators, I got some free traffic too
No kidding. Thanks John!
same here, i think john doesn’t like me
maybe i’m too pretty for him
350 eh?!
I tell you what John, how about instead of replying to one of your comments, why not get them to reply to one of my posts instead?!?!

Ok Rhys, if that’s an invitation, we’re coming on over!
hmm, i’m not sure john would do that, unless you’re giving out some cool stuff
Hahaha
Good idea. How about my blog
This was a great book! I would LOVE an autographed copy! I definately gleaned some great ideas for my !
i think the book’s worth reading after reading john’s review about the book
Congrats hopefully you put that to good use
Well I’m abit upset that I didn’t win but glad to see it went to a good cause such as someone running a blog called “poorer than you”.
Makes you wonder…what happens when she isn’t poorer than us? That should be a great website title!
She sells her blog for a few hundred thousand as starts one called “richer than you”
Shouldn’t you have told her to party hard instead of living hard?
Although the autograph in itself is awesome….
Yup, you’r right ! People should partymore an live less :
If you live less then by definition you will not be able to party as long! You need to live more AND party more.
Live hard, not work hard.
Congrats Stephanie! I think after she reads it, she should then give it away to me
Even if you didnt win you should buy this book! It is a great read…
I’ve got mine on hold at the library
Congratulations.
Re-contest it
Hopefully she’ll read it first!
I’ll thinks it’s to many contests this days, every blog have them. I see you have 350 replies on the last one. that’s a very small part of your readers. Maybe the rest of us thinks it’s boring. tell us more about what you think about the contest future. If you are a contest looser you can get a free spock (the new search engine, everybody talk about) membership at my blog http://euroanddollar.blogspot.com/
Let’s see, when I make a normal post I get less than 100 comments, which is an even smaller part of my readership. You think they’re even more bored? Your logic needs work.
Yes, you have more replies,3% versus 1%, thats good, but most of the readers never replies. and most of the repliers are positiv anyway, but I wonder do the the people that never replies like the contests or are they coming to you to read about something else.
I guess you would never know the answer to that question, since you are asking people who never replies
But I like some of the contests. Others don’t interest me. But that’s okay. I’m free to read, what I want, and so are everybody else. Nobody forces you to read or answer.
Damn, Ill have to go to the bookstore and check this book out now
[...] John announced a winner this morning. Oh well, maybe next time. Congrats to Stephanie over at at Poorer Than [...]
congrats Stephanie…….
P/s : Hope i can win at next contest
First of all congrats to Stephanie.
>>I should think up more creative ways to enter than just by replying to a post. Any ideas?
somehow my comment didn’t make it into the blog, anyway here it is again:
As I was not able to enter the contest via firefox after it had added up 250 comments, I had to switch to Internet Explorer (which I didn’t like to do, but wanted to have the book).
Why not make the challenge to us even harder by switching the medium? We could send you a postcard.
But pls take into account that international submissions take a little longer (about 7 days by airmail from Europe)
That is an interesting idea. It takes more dedication to do something that way versus typing off a quick comment.
Not me again, well next time.
I didn’t win. =(
I really expected to win. I feel let down and I’m not sure I’ll ever return…
I’m sure you will return because I never won a price but I’m still here
Let’s wait for another contest coming.
Congrats to Stephanie! It’s a good book, you’ll enjoy it! *=)
I’m not so sure about the text of the signature. Why ‘live hard’ if you are working a 4-hour week? Congrats to the winner though
JC - “I should think up more creative ways to enter than just by replying to a post. Any ideas?”
How about a competition to see who can be photographed in the most unusual place, wearing a T-shirt with ‘Make money online with JohnChow.com’ printed on it?
Damn! I never win anything,
Congrats Stephanie! I hope I win the next one ^_~
One person :grin:, 350+++ :twisted:,
Here’s my idea for your next contest, John. Get the people taking photos of them holding a piece of paper which reads “I love John Chow” or “John, I want to win XYZ!” or a combination of both.
The entrants could send the pictures to you or post them on their own blogs and you choose the funniest, coolest or craziest picture.
If I had something to give away to my readers, that’s how I’d do it. Guess this would definitely get you some buzz juice.
If you like my idea, give me some link love when you do your next contest and accept me as your almighty contest goddess. Yay! Deal?
As evil as you are, why haven’t you started to auction a book off? Or give one to your biggest supplier of “buy me a beer”.
