The Winner of The World’s Thinnest Mouse

written by John Chow on July 14th, 2007

World's thinnest mouse

Congrats to Jon Lee for winning the word’s thinnest mouse. Actually, maybe I should say I feel sorry for him because while it ranks as the thinnest mouse in the world, it also ranks as the most uncomfortable mouse in the world. At least he’ll look cool. I should be really evil and not send Jon the instructional pamphlet. That’ll really mess him up!

Then again, he may do what the mad cow did and give the prize away in a new contest. If I keep this up, there’ll be a bunch of signed John Chow products being used for perpetual giveaways. That would be pretty funny.

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest. Look for another useless giveaway real soon. And if you haven’t already done so, I highly recommend you subscribe to the full feed RSS. The reason will be made clear real soon.

Unfortunately like most ultra portable devices the usability scores are often polar to that of the mobility ones. Best thing I’ve ever used as a replace to the mouse was a device you held in your thumb, index finger to click, thumb to move tracking ball. Like any of these though they give different aches if used excessively… They are great however for those in between places such as planes etc…

Lawl if I were Jon, I would have taken a check for the value of the mouse instead so I could buy hookers and booze for temporary enjoyment.

HAR just kidding.

Giving away the give away doesn’t sound like a bad plan. Although hopefully John Lee will sign it himself along with your autograph…

Destiny probably wants folks like us to take home the best prize.

I tell myself these things so I don’t end up weeping like a baby.

You could easily make a smaller one, one that fits on a sewing thumb. a ball two buttons and a light sensor. it could work but it would be even more useless then this mouse.
