Congrats goes out to Zac Johnson of ZacJohnson.com and Gyutae Park of Winning The Web for winning the Elite Retreat tickets. Zac and Gyutae will be flying to San Francisco in April for two days of intense one-on-one-training with Jeremy Schoemaker, Aaron Wall, Neil Patel, Andy Liu, Brian Clark and Guy Kawasaki.

There wasn’t as many entries as one would expect when a $4,950 prize (two of them) was on the line. There are two reasons for this. The first is the very short deadline - the contest ran for only a week. The second reason is most people think they are not ready or successful enough to attend such a retreat and therefore did not entered.

I want to thank Rocket Profit for putting up the $9,900 it took to buy the two tickets. If you haven’t joined the Rocket yet, I highly recommend you do. They got some great offers that can make you a lot of money.

I missed the original post I guess. Are you going John?
I’m interested in hearing your plan to turn traffic around, this site is only getting about 33% of the traffic it got just six months ago and the alexa graph is still aimed steadily downwards. No offense on that btw, you’re kicking everyones arse anyway, but whats the plan?

I am not going. Turn around what traffic? My traffic is as high as ever. If you believe Alexa, well, that’s says quite a bit. Why don’t you check the Alexa graph for all the other big make money blogs? Because they’ll all be down 33% according to them. I let my RSS do the talking.

No need to get touchy, everyones wondering, i’m just asking. Your RSS is supposed to increase over time, like you said, people are too lazy to unsubscribe.

Forget Alexa if you like, I didn’t say it was accurate, you reported aprox 20,000 less unique visitors and close to 40,000 less pageviews than 6 months ago. Those figures.

Remember that quantity of traffic isn’t a good metric, but more “quality of traffic”.

You’ll probably find that the quality of traffic John gets is the same month on month, but the numbers change because there will be a lot of first time visitors who don’t come back. Having 100,000 readers who don’t care is worse than 10,000 who do.

As John says, RSS subscribers are a good indication of how your blog is doing.

If people don’t unsubscribe and don’t check their RSS (or RSS by email) FeedBurner will eventually remove them. I made the mistake of saying RSS by Email is always counted. It’s not. FeedBurner sends a 1 pixel image with each RSS by email as a tracker to see if the email is open. If the emails go un-open for a certain length of time, the subscriber is removed from the count. The current FeedBurner count is an accurate representation of the active subscribers to this blog.
