Three Places People Wrongly Look For Money Making Advice

So you’re an eager little beaver. Wanting to get started fast, you hop online looking for ways to make a full-time income from home working in your jammies.

Not a bad plan…

But how do you actually make a full-time income doing this stuff? How do you avoid wasting tons of time searching and making sure you avoid any and all scams (and there are a lot of them out there)? Here are three places that you don’t want to look to for any advice.

Making choices

1 – Public Forums

What’s the problem here? Well, on public forums, everyone thinks they are the expert. Few if any of them really are. They may be trying to be helpful, but they’re actually hurting your chances of progress by telling you theories and old marketing methods that don’t work anymore. Plus, forums are a huge time suck. You should stay away from them.

2 – Friends

Friends sure mean well, but whenever they tell you about an opportunity to make money, it’s usually because they want something from you, or they’ve been scammed into something themselves, and are super excited and trying to use their new system by “telling all their friends” about it.

  • Step one in these things: tell your friends
  • Step two: fail

Respectfully say, “thanks, but no thanks.”

3 – Hypey Products with Over The Top Claims

Here’s a great thing to always remember. If it sounds too good to be true, it almost always is. Scam words are usually things like “get rich overnight”, “push button profits”, “make xxx by tomorrow” etc. Though the industry is getting much better at removing this crap off the face of the earth it’s still out there, so be very careful.

Here’s The Solution

If you really want to build a lifestyle business and work from anywhere in the world from your laptop, it’s actually fairly simple to get started. It’s all about modeling and learning from people that are already where you want to be, and are willing to share what they are doing with you.

If you want to be a master carpenter, then you learn from a master carpenter. If you want to become a top chef, you go and find a top chef willing to teach you all his industry trade secrets. If you want to learn to race cars, you don’t go to the local go-cart track, you contact a friggin’ Dale Earnhardt Jr. and get him to train you.

And if you want to learn how to make a real income online, just like the pros do, then you need to join the Mobe Inner Circle (MIC). You’ll learn the cutting edge strategies and secrets from the Top 1% in the industry. These are the people who have done what you want to do. In addition to me, you’ll learn from Inner Circle leaders like Matt Lloyd, Daegan Smith, Marlon Sanders, and many other top experts in the field.

Right now, we are offering 7 day trial access to the Inner Circle for only $9.95. Try MIC for a full week, and if you’re not absolutely thrilled by it, then cancel it and owe nothing. The 7 day trial offer expires on Tuesday March 5th, so act now to make sure you get in.

I think I have to give this program a shot!!!!!!!

    Thanks John

    1. faisal says:

      The trial does seem tempting.

  2. John David says:

I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t get into that inner circle.

It’s sad that 95% of people will probably skip out on this opportunity when it is probably the most effective thing they can learn from.

Its funny how people try to make money online without learning from the absolute experts first. Those are the people that get discouraged quick and think making money online is a scam.

For only 10 bucks I might have to give this thing a try. One question: If I decide it isn’t for me, how easy is it to cancel? Can I simply cancel online or do I need to jump through hoops like trying to cancel a SI subscription…which can be harder to do than leave the mafia :p

Friends and money experiments fair too frequently!
I have had the worst experience when friends come to me with money making deals. They are told to use clever language cues like “support me”, and “help me grow my business, as I save you money” and it always leaves me feeling guilty for sticking to my guns and saying F-off!

  5. Jon Mcdonald says:

Great info!! As usual, there are so many schemes out there its hard to know where to go and who you can trust.

  6. Pradeep says:

There must be a plan to make money and yes nothing is achieved without a guru. I support the idea while still being reluctant to part with a single dime. Knowledge is useless if its source is not acknowledged in monetary terms. If you pay a fee, the knowledge reaps benefits. It is how one respects his guru. In the first instance, one has to recognise the guru and be accepted as a disciple.

I have been in receipt of your emails now for sometime and have decided to sit down and read them some day. Pray tell me is my desire to make money reason enough to accept you as a guru?

Is money the only driver of happiness. It is important no doubt, but then one persons wealth is often at the cost of someone else’s. Unless we print!

  7. Rob McNelis says:

Definitely a good point to stay away from forums. They are such a time suck. I would also add that you shouldn’t be afraid to pay for advice. Most of the time the best advice from experts is not free, but it’s worth it.

    1. Agree. Unless your core business is advising people how to make money online it is best to get someone who knows their stuff – the professionals.

  8. Peter Sunde says:

Really nice tips, I just started blogging so thank you!

  9. Robert Teng says:

thanks john…But it is hard for making any money online? Kind of disappoint because its hard to do it.

  10. marty says:

Thanks for saving me a lot of heartache I had the triple threat a friend suggested I used forums for a too good to be true product .I was looking for advice on whether i should go for it.Now I have my answer

  11. Is the 7-day trial for $9.95 it. I am always skeptic of automatically get into pay $97 a month afterwards. Can I easily cancel it within the 7-day period and not be billed for $97 a month thereafter.

    1. John Chow says:

Yes, you can cancel anytime during the 7 day and you will not be billed for anything afterwards.

  12. Jason Bennet says:

Thanks for sharing these 3 valuable tips. I agree that it will be more practical to invest money in order to get the proper education so that the right action will be taken which means more profits.

  13. alan says:

Yay! THANKS John Chow. I THINK I am going to make alot of MONEY with this one. EVEN though, the rest of your recomendation hasn’t made me money, but don’t worry! I still trust that your recommendations will make me money some day. Hopefully within my lifetime.

  14. That’s not completely true, i have shared my secret with my friends for 100% free.but one thing happened…. they don’t believe me! 🙁

Now most of them asking for me to share thus secrets, after seeing my earnings 🙂

  15. Bertrand says:

Unfortunately it seems it does not accept Paypal although it displays it does. Pretty bad for a recurring payment program. I’ll pass for the time being.

  16. Wadud says:

Thanks for the info John. The tips are useful and I’ll give MOBE some thought.

  17. Vivvy says:

    Hi John,

How do I get the full 7 days?

  18. Vkool says:

I think I will give this opportunity a try in a week or two since I need to finish a few things before I can totally focus on learning whatever they have on offer from the Inner Circle.

I will come back to this post to tell everyone about my learning experience from MOBE Inner Circle.

  19. John,
Do you also teach on your inner circle about the Commission Ripper on Clickbank; affiliating using Clickbank without generating a traffic?

I saw Peng Joon mention about in his presentation video.

    Thank you so much,
    Blessings to you!

  20. I agree with every one of your points. However, as I read number 3 – “Hypey Products with Over The Top Claims” I noticed a bar at the top of the page saying “How to Make $1,000 Per Day From Home.”

Claiming someone could earn $365,000 a year using just the internet surely falls under your #3 point? Of course it’s possible to earn $1k a day but very unlikely for 99% of visitors.

  21. great post, i’ll try these steps

  22. viorel says:

Is very good solutions Thank you so much,

  23. Guy says:

Tempting, but it’s like starting at step 1 again and having to learn and go through hours of video to learn what your doing and apply the same tactics..
& juggling this with time i have to spend on my clients design work and my own projects on the side.. it’s a time issue…In an ideal world, I would like a ‘FREE’ trial & and a one click button to make it all happen – I wish. To make money is a up hill climb, but once your making it, you can ride the wave like John cow > riding the wave of succesful blogging. It seems so easy for John, who is already riding the wave. For us newbie’s we still trying to catch the wave ! Right now I thought of offering a free service and seeing who turns up… then offering a purchase deal to purchase my offering..

  24. It is true about public forum but one can sell digital product on some mature forum. some info marketers make most of their money from public forum but if you don’t have mission of selling info product in the name of advice, then save your time.

  25. khadeer says:

Great post. It’s really helpful for everyone, Definitely they avoid these mistake by seeing this post. Thanks for sharing this one.

  26. Natok Dryke says:

Awesome article John, but I kinda had to laugh when I was reading “Hypey Products with Over The Top Claims” and in the next paragraph you advertise mobe 🙂

I think you need to point out more what makes it really different… I followed past postings about it and still didn’t make me want to get it.

    No offense, just my thoughts.

  27. Atom says:

I’ll give it a try and further promote in on my blog if i like it.
    Thanks John

  28. Hi John!

The bi-monthly webinars will be recorded and available for the trial? i guess one of the best things of getting it are this webinars and it will be a shame not to have one before your trial expires.

Still is worth the shot and I guess I’ll try it, thanks for sharing!

  29. outlr says:

This website really contain good info.

  30. RuNet says:

I absolutely agree with you that forums are just a waste of time and you will never learn a system how to make money online. You can learn a trick here and there but can certainly miss a big picture.

  31. john says:

Sort of like the ads that are on this page? Is that the kind we’re not supposed to go after? Isn’t that sort of hypocritical? You say not to use them but you promote them.
Don’t talk about , be about it.

  32. Sushain says:

Right !! People go up to some person who has no clue about what you are talking about. And after that if he says that, this is not going to work, they get disheartened and quit up their idea.
This should never be the case, if you have got an idea and are doubtful about then simply go to some expert on it or otherwise believe in your guts.
    Good luck.
