Tickle Me Elmo TMX
written by John Chow on March 23rd, 2007
Yes, Sarah bought a Tidkle Me Elmo TMX for Sally and I have to admit, the thing is pretty funny and makes me laugh pretty hard. I never grew up with Elmo because he didn’t exist when I was a kid. I grew up with Grover and Cookie Monster. Enjoy the video of Elmo in action.

That thing’s awesome.
Reply to this commentYou can say that again, does anyone remember the original tickle me elmo?
My little sister got one (grandpa had to wait 3 hours in line at Toys R Us to make it happen). They definitely aren’t as cool as these new ones, but still were awesome!
Reply to this commentI remember the lines for these things were ridiculous that first year…sold out everywhere!
Reply to this commentI remember that - was’t it right before Christmas?
Reply to this commentThat’s pretty awesome and I do agree that it is pretty funny. I haven’t seen the TMX in action yet, so this was a good glimpse. Thanks for posting.
Thanks,

I bet the Tickle people are making some money. Let us know when you can’t stand it anymore and remove the batteries.
Reply to this commentI found it cute and funny to watch it once. I’m thinking it would get old by the 3rd time, and by the 10th time or so, I’d be filming the video of me throwing the Elmo TMX off a high building.
Or … I guess taking out the batteries would work too
Reply to this commentThat’s what I though - “It does all that everytime?!!?!?“
Reply to this commentEspecially for being seen on Chow’s site.
Reply to this commentthat’s gotta get annoying after a while!
Reply to this commentI was kinda thinking the same thing…maybe after a week or 2 of hearing that laugh I’d shove it in the closet for a while
Reply to this commentA week?! Try an hour! Trust me, I have two kids… these things get old fast!
Reply to this commentI’m with you there. It is cute at first, but after a while… Kids will never get sick of it either. They’ll just keep making laugh over and over and over and over and over and…
Reply to this commentI can picture it now, what a nightmare!!! How do you handle it John???
Reply to this commentRemove the batteries - that’s what I do!
Reply to this commentI’m surprized that doesn’t scare the shit out of Sally
Reply to this commentIt seemed natural until it erected itself off of it’s stomach. I know it scares me.
Reply to this commentI KNOW! That’s exactly what I thought.
Can’t sleep…Elmo will eat me…
Reply to this commentThat was pretty funny, It would have been pretty cool to have on of those when I was little :), unfortunatelly i had to play monkeys.
Reply to this commentI think I would have liked something that i’d be able to play with. I don’t know if I would have been able to just stand and watch.
Reply to this commentMONKEYS?!?!?! That would have been dangerous!
Reply to this commentYou mean the popular game “A Barrel of monkeys”? Or the poo flinging jungle type?
Reply to this commentOr Sea Monkeys!
Reply to this commentHaha, Sea Monkeys…I almost forgot about those things. I got some when I was just a kid once. They didn’t ‘work’ though.
Reply to this commentDid you send a bill to them for this free promotion John?
Reply to this commentNot quite a full review, but with the number of views this post is getting … it would seem fair.
Or you could ask for some free Elmo TMX to donate to a local charity?
Reply to this commentOur 2 year old likes Grover better than Elmo, so we have been able to avoid Tickle Me Elmo so far.
Reply to this commentGood for your 2 year old!
Near…..Far……Near…….Far

Reply to this commentGroover was always my favorite too… Elmo is annoying.
Reply to this commentNooooooooooooo! Elmo is evil
Anyone seen Tickle me Emo?
Reply to this commentHahha I haven’t, do you have a link?

if anyone else wants to check it out!
Reply to this commentMy son was all about Elmo then all of a sudden it became the Wiggles. The worst part about it is I go around singing “Fruit salad yummy yummy” in my head all day.
Reply to this commentHahaha, my sister walks around singing that, thanks to her 2-year-old daughter. The kiddo made me watch Elmo’s world with her the other night, I thought I might go crazy after a whole half hour of him referring to himself in the third person!
Reply to this commentGosh.. Sesame Street never did died out, did it? I know Teletubies did!
Reply to this commentAren’t they still making the Teletubies?
Reply to this commentI LOVE ELMO!!
Reply to this commentLol…..
Reply to this commentThat’s the most interesting and funny toy i have seen from Sesame Street. Hehe!
WOW, I’ve never seen one of those in action. Wow was it coordinated. So life like gestures and corresponding laughter…That was awesome!!
Reply to this commentThat made me smile
Reply to this commentYeah I wonder why they don’t have an Oscar the Grouch? I’m still waiting for the rude-commenting garbage can-inhabiting doll.
My niece got one. It is freaking hillarious (not to mention scary). I think it may be alive after a few drinks.
Reply to this commentI feel these googly eyes won’t let me sleep at night
I saw first Elmo 12 years ago. I remember that, because it was my senior year at the university. I didn’t buy one, but everyone was so head over heels with them. Elmos came a long way since then. This one is the best!
Reply to this commentAh.. Reminds me of my childhood days.
Talking and giggling, that’s what Elmo does best!
Reply to this commentHaha…a lady I work with bought one of these in December of eBay for like $100 or something. It was pretty entertaining
Reply to this commenthaha…that was funny! They made the movement so life-like.
Reply to this commentLMAO lol this was really funny.hahahaha.JC you got a gift that will make u laugh even if your earnings drop sometimes lol
Reply to this commentVery Funny, I can’t wait to have children so I can play with the toys too
Reply to this commentthat is pretty funny!! just remembering my childhood
Reply to this commentThat thing is amazing, where did you buy it??
Reply to this commentToys R Us
Reply to this commentMakes sense
Reply to this commentYou can get them everywhere
Reply to this commentYes, it’s a conspiracy. They may LOOK like friendly little children’s toys, but they are actually evil death robots that will take over the world once distribution reaches critical mass.
Reply to this commentAll these people remembering tickle me Elmo from their childhood is making me feel old… Like John, I was long past my Sesame Street phase by the time it came around. I was a big fan of Cookie Monster, Ernie and Bert. I also credit Sesame Street for teaching me English when I was a very young.
Reply to this commentHa ha…so cute….I enjoyed it. My kids enjoyed it too….Nice…

Reply to this commentThey never had toys like this when I was a kid
Had to rely on your imagination.
Reply to this commentOur daughter is 5. She is into technology like me. Nintendo DS, using my computer, stuff like that. One day she might be an internet marketer.
Michael
Reply to this commentGood for you Michael. I can’t say anything about little kids, since no one left.
Reply to this commentMy kids too, they take classes in their elementary school: Internet, Office OS’s…
Reply to this commentTechnology these days! It looks almost natural the way it roll around on the floor. That’s crazy!
Reply to this commentI think it would scare some young children…at first I thought it was going to just laugh..then it start rolling and balling and swinging its arms!…and then got up off of its stomach …I was like what the H@ll
Reply to this commentMy kids really like Elmo.I waiting for 2 hours to get them all.The best part of my kids life!
Reply to this commentSame thing with my nieces…they can’t get enough of Elmo…good thing I don’t live with them.
Reply to this commentthats kind of funny.
isn’t elmo the evil spawn of the cookie monster and big bird
Reply to this commentI find that thing almost as creepy as clowns… *shudder*
some things just aren’t natural… and perpetual smiling faces and things that never stop laughing are included on that list.
Reply to this commentnice elmo john..nice thing to play with..have u seen a “tickle me barney” yet?it’s already out in china through this alibaba website
Reply to this commentTickle me BARNEY? Okay…that’s just creepy.

Reply to this commentAren’t these things amazing. The motion just crack me up. The laughing motions are just great. Nothing beats the “lying on your stomach while beating the floor” laugh. What is also pretty cool are those Robosapions.
Reply to this commentI bought one as a gift last Christmas, but I must’ve tried it out a hundred times myself — hilarious!
