Time For Another Contest!
OK! It’s time to hold another contest and give away some more free stuff! This time I have a really cool prize but I’m not going to tell you what it is. You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
To enter this contest, all you have to do is to join the John Chow dot Com MyBlogLog community. 169 members have already joined the community without the incentive of a contest. That was enough for MyBlogLog to feature this blog as one of the six Hot Communities. As a reward to the early members, they will all received an extra entry into the draw.
MyBlogLog is actually a very cool service. It has helped me put a name to the face of my readers and it also helps to increase traffic because readers visit the community member’s website. I have noticed a nice increase in traffic since setting this up.
The contest deadline is this Friday so if you haven’t join the blog’s MyBlogLog community, do so now! On Friday, I will draw a name from all the entries and that person will win this prize! Good luck!

Can anyone even play that video? It’s screwed up and doesn’t even show up in the post.
Reply to this commentThe Google upload seem to have messed up. It only plays when you go to Google Video. I am uploading to YouTube right now.
Reply to this commentOMG! You’ve turned into Rodney Reynolds from 3DGameMan!

Reply to this commentYour MyBlogLog is in Espanol! Mouse over your avatar!
Reply to this commentSi. Espanol, senor.
Okay, that’s about as far as my Spanish goes.
Reply to this commentThis is hilarious. John Chow dot com, the largest Spanish speaking community on MyBlogLog… or is it just the root of all evil trying to attrack the Spanish speaking community?!
Reply to this commentIt’s not Spanish, it’s Italian!
Reply to this commentWow, don’t I feel ignorant.
Reply to this commentI find YouTube to be the most reliable.. I tried using the self-embeding plugin (whatever it was called.. FLV embed??) and it had problems with IE, and I wasn’t the only one. There were lots of complaints on hw it did nt work well on ie
Reply to this commentJohn Chow, great video! I hope I win!
Reply to this commentYou are a marketing guru. I hope I have a good chance this time!
Reply to this commentNice! I get an extra entry! I was wondering when the next contest was going to take place. I like the MBL inclusion…it’s sure to increase the numbers there as it did on Technorati.
Reply to this commentEh. Looks liek I visited him often enough, I’m in the list too so I get 2 inclusions!
Reply to this commentAdded you to MyBlogLog community thing.

Reply to this commentNicely done John, will we also have a higher chance next time?
Reply to this commentDo you ship international?
Reply to this commentHaha that’s a tall order but who knows?
Reply to this commentYes I will ship anywhere in the world. The drive weigh 2 oz. and doesn’t cost much to ship.
Reply to this commentOk, I joined
Reply to this commentIf he wasn’t going to ship, you weren’t going to join?
Reply to this commentThis is one of the nice things about reading the blogs of the bigger guys, a chance to win a pretty freaking cool flash drive. Thanks for the chance John.
Reply to this commentOne of those would sure be handy.
I’m going to have to get some gear to give away on my blog, seems like a fantastic way to get people more involved in your site. Great way to building community and spread the world.

Reply to this commentJohn, I am curious… how do you randomly pick someone from the community to win? Do you enter all of the names into an Excel databae and use the random function? Do you write everyones name on a piece of paper and pull them out of a bag?
Reply to this commentI enter all the name, put it in a box and pull out a name. I may even do the draw as a video!
Reply to this commentHA!
You know what the first thing to go through my head was? A lego set that actually used this to store operating instructions for the lego toy actions.
Technix 2010 anyone?
Reply to this commentI would of thought a dot com mogul would be using a service like revver that pays you every time someone watches the video?
In any case I’ve joined. Send that lego baby to down under!
Reply to this commentRevver is far from reliable.
Reply to this commentI agree, Revver is not reliable. He could try that AdBrite thing he talked about some time back. Or maybe metacafe?
Reply to this commentI really hope I win…thanks John!
Reply to this commentJohn, I thought those who joined prior to the contest should get extra chance, since they have joined even without any incentive.
But hey, at least we could heard your voice now.
Reply to this commentThose who joined the community before the contest got an extra entry.
Reply to this commentThanks for the contest. I started reading your blog yesterday and I really liked it, so I joined your MyBlogLog community, and the next day a contest pops up were I have a bigger chance to win then the “newcommers”. Very nice
Hope I win, even though I might not deserve it as much as your old readers.

Reply to this commentI’d love to John, but if I do, you’ll see my face but lose my name since my screen name is unavailable.
Reply to this commentSomehow I think that if I were to win this, it would end up in my son’s lego buckets and I would never see it again.
Already was a member of your community so it will be nice to get that extra chance.
Reply to this commentlol, just keep it out of your sons hands
Reply to this commentI’d have to keep it at work because his radar would likely find it anywhere in the house.
He is preparing for a career with Lego, which I think would be really cool actually.
Reply to this commentTo that problem, the answer is simple. Put it in your own bucket of Legos first
Reply to this commentLol, I actually had a huge bucket of legos that my parents still had from when I was a kid. A few years back they gave all of those to my son.
Reply to this commentI’m in
Reply to this commentThanks John! I started reading your blog yesterday and I really liked it, so I joined your MyBlogLog community and the day after a competition were I have bigger chance of winning then the “newcommers” appear. How B-E-A-utiful

Reply to this commentI want in on it.
Reply to this commentnice.. me want
Reply to this commentThat is a cool price. Hope I can sign up before friday.. very busy with work ( i have free from school )
Reply to this commentNice idea!
Out of curiosity, setting up the whole thing: chosing the stick, buying it, writing the blog post, making the movie and posting it to YouTube, this entire very serious marketing operation, was how much time? You seem to move so fast, but I know there is a lot and a LOT of work behind the curtain.
And I think it would be a good example for other bloggers about what blog marketing and viral social networks can be, if done correctly.
Good luck! (And to mee, to, I like LEGO’s
)
Reply to this commentI can’t believe you have that idiot Jon Waraas linked on your blog and even accepts his advertising money.
How about you read his recent post where he talks about cheating sites toplists using proxies.
