Top Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Blog

written by John Chow on September 9, 2007

Build Your Online Business Now

Traffic is the foundation of making money online. Without traffic, nothing happens. What are the top ways to drive traffic to your blog? I discussed that very topic in my third interview on The Lab with Leo Laporte.

This interview was taped back in July but aired last week. It took this long to finally find the episode and put it on YouTube. Thanks to Greg Morgan for doing all the leg work to get this done. If you compare this interview to my first interview with Leo, you’ll see I’m a lot more relaxed. I must be getting use to the limelight.

Enjoy the video on building traffic. I hope it helps you. Please note: the video is grayed out for the first five seconds. I don’t know why, but it clears up after that.

Something i was actually looking for :)

Awesome John! I used to watch that show a long time ago. Congrants on the publicity. I'm sure that helped you a lot.

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations!
You really know how to increase traffic. It's amazing the final of the interview, you give the people a value thing to visit your site.

Great interview! I need traffic badly... I have none! (yet)

oops, sorry for the multiple comments saying the same thing. as you know, I had problems posting

Thanks for the information! Just following the bread crumbs!

Wow that a great interview. I enjoyed watching it :D

i did not learn anything on how to build traffic from this interview. i was left wanting more.

It was pretty much the same o same o, but if it ain't broke......

Traffic is realy most important... More traffic more money. NO traffic no money... Very simple formula :)

Repeat traffic is even better

The info he gave us is nothing new, everyone know about it. Just that most don't take action.

There are also some others one he didn't mention. the purpose of this vid was only to get him traffic, useless video for anyone like me who been blogging over a month.

well, that was pretty much the basics you talked about.

Great interview John. The competition idea is definitely something that I can do.

The way we are receiving a lot of traffic is due to organizing a contest as your popular evil contest lol.
Take a look and decide if you want to be part of it....we decided to use one important ammount of our marketing budget to it.
Kisses!

That is amazing i like that tip you made with driving traffic with new products review sent to others to return you back a link and generate traffic.

Dude, if you gonna appear on TV, talk to the camera, not to the Host.

All the show you are talking to leo, and the viewer can only see the side of your face. If you look at the camera, the viewer will see your face, and feel as though you are talking to him, making the whole show more personal.

Um...it's pretty customary to talk to the interviewer.

I've never seen anyone NOT talk to the interviewer. They only stare directly at the camera if they want to goof off or make a special point.

John wasn't presenting the show, he was being interviewed. When somebody asks you a question you look them in the face when you reply. That's just manners TV or not.

Amazing how it works! I started last month and I see a long and a hard way to go with much much much to do. Keep on blogging!

Thanks John Chow! Although i am not even 1% or ever 0.1% compared to your blog, but i guess your tips are very useful. Thanks once again!

John you ROCK!
This is my first comment here on www.johnchow.com, but I have read your sites from the year 1999. I will definitly use your ideas with my fress blog. My blog is in finnish so that narrows the traffic to finnish people only but I think your advices should work on us too

I'm also new to blogging and this blog is the first English blog I'm viewing daily or even more because there are so much to read from the archives. I also follow the links from the commentators because there are many intresting readers blogs to be discovered so keep on commenting on www.johnchow.com to get visitors !

Still not seeing any babes around here.

Please your ebook in spanish!

Some aight tips in there. I can't believe how much faster Youtube is from Singapore than Thailand.

Awesome John, that was pretty sweet man, funny looking back at the old blog!

Everything what your beams generates I deal John

You're right, without traffic nothing happens.. now I really need to work on that!

That is awesome, so how much traffic did that show drive in?

Great video John. I definitely need to work on getting more traffic... I have none!

John, you're sou cool.

Did I miss the second interview somewhere along the way here? I remember watching one a while back and I thought that was the first one, now this is the third...I must be missing one somewhere here.

John,

Great segment. I love Leo and you were a great addition to his show. Congratulations!!

I interviewed with Leo in 2004... he's a great guy!

John,

Good show  ! I used to be a big fan of TechTV.

Bob

great tips, john! thanks for sharing the video.

That was a really nice video. I'm not familiar with the Lab though.

 Nice interview.

I have been a big fan of Leo for a long time. I use to watch a show called "Screen savers" back on tech tv, I think it was called. They canceled the channel and I never herd anything about the cast again. I'm amazed to find him on your site John, thank you for posting the interview and happy to see Leo still has a job and a T.V. show.

Great video. Do you know how much traffic it sends roughly?

nice job John, you looked a little nervous at first but looked more comfortable towards the middle and end.
