Toronto Readers Meet Up

written by John Chow on August 21st, 2008

I had a great meet up with some of my Toronto readers tonight. We got a nice big turn out of over 20 people and pretty much took over the entire patio of the Live restaurant. It was great to meet so many readers and also great to meet up with Yaro from Entrepreneurs Journey again. Yaro and I did a combined meet up when he was in Vancouver so it made sense to do another since I’m in Toronto.

The Live restaurant that Yaro recommended serves nothing but fruits and and veggies - they don’t seem to know what meat is. They even claim that protein comes from beans and soy. Ya, right! Live is an interesting place and the food is quite good. I wouldn’t eat it everyday but as an occasional “let’s try something really stupid” thing, you can’t go wrong.

Thanks to all the readers who made the Toronto meet up. I had a great time putting names to faces.

Dot Com Pho Toronto This Saturday

If you missed this meet up, you have another chance this Saturday, August 23. I will be holding Dot Com Pho Toronto at Vietnam Noodle Star (Unit 2 - 4188 Finch Ave. East, Scarborough, ON). The fun begins at 12:30PM. Please RSVP here if you can make it. And if you have something I can use for the Gadget of The Week, please bring it.

I wonder how many of the 29,000 RSS readers are from Toronto.. If the majority was Canadian the gathering might have been a little bit larger..:-)

Haha cool video,
one day I am going to have a meet up with my readers once my blog gets a little larger. This is cool that you can actually hang out with people who are readers of your blog

That’s a very nice idea Ryan. Whenever my RSS counts leaps from 3 to 10,000 I will also create a conference meeting event somewhere in a nice exotic place :-)

Fake meat….!!! What sort of evil b’stard invented that? I need at least one thing that has bled on each plate of food that I eat.

Sorry I missed it but one main reason I didn’t make the effort was the vegan food plus I’m still sick :(

I hope to make the dot com pho on saturday though.

Vegetarian? You really have gone off the deep end John! The fact that you didn’t turn around at the door worries me.

That guy in the video that just looked at the camera dumbfounded was worth watching it. First he tries talking to it like a voice recorder, then he is surprised and left speechless when he finds out it’s actually a video recorder.

Funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time!

I don’t think I could eat at that restaurant though. I have to have meat as well.
