Two New Text Link Advertisers
It seems my commercial break worked! Barely a day has passed and already I got two more text link sales! This is what happens when you under promise and over deliver. I like to welcome the new advertisers:
Local Search Watch is a new blog focusing on getting local search results and local pay per click marketing. The blog is run by Frank Travisano, the CEO Impaxion, Inc., an internet services company offering website design and search marketing services since 2002. He is also the President of Local Breeze, Inc., a new local startup that is creating a series of local portals throughout the country.
Local Search Watch looks like an interesting blog. However, there are only five posts on it at the moment, with the last update on Jan. 15th. I hope Mr. Travisano updates it more. Otherwise, he could be wasting his advertising money.
FunnyReign.com is the buyer of the must see funny videos link. As you can image from the text description, the site shows funny videos. FunnyReign.com is among the first users of the new AdBrite InVideo Ads format. I was approved to be part of the private beta for InVideo Ads. I should follow up on that. I don’t post too many videos but the ones I do posts would get viewed a thousand times and it would be interesting to see how much it makes.
The InVideo ads are not that intrusive at all. Here’s a sample video from FunnyReign.com.

Reply to this commentyea, I think you should go for it. At first, i dont know if its just me, but the ad jumped in at the top of the screen and it was a little distracting but it dissappeared, and having that little on at the end is not problem from a viewers standpoint.

The video is crazy–what was that guy thinking? Natural selection at its finest.
As for the AdBrite ad, the system isn’t flawless yet as at various points it stops in the video (or it did the first time I viewed it) and I had to hit play again. I assume this isn’t the desired result, because if it was I don’t know who would watch many AdBrite powered ads. I also wish they’d put the ad up top, as there might be something I want to see at the end of the video there.

I was looking at the AdBrite video section and the idea is nice. The ads are not in your face and are hidden once you’ve played the movie. The embedded video took a bit to load on the page before it displayed the player but eh, what can I do with dedicated Dual T1 lines eh?

It depends on the Google server you’re on at the time. Most servers have me at 4, but a few still have me at 2.

I have to admit that I been a *ghost* reader for the past month or so and am compelled to comment at last. I love the blog you have. I have not really cared too much about SEO and monetizing in the past but am interested to learn more especially with the launch of a new tech blog that I am part of. To us, monetizing (for profit) is not really too high on our priorities (yet) as we believe it will come hand in hand with good content — although we have some google ads on blog. You can count me in as a regular reader. Keep up the good work and great advice!

Reply to this commentNo, I don’t think it will be #1. TLA prorates the cost of the link on a 30 day basis. Because those new links didn’t start on the 1st, they won’t earn me the full $100. Next month they will however.
