Unique Blog Designs Citrus Theme

written by John Chow on September 3, 2008

How to make $593 in less than one hour

My friends at Unique Blog Designs has launched their long awaited Citrus Theme for WordPress. Available in six different citrus colors, with a landing and blog style layout, the Citrus Theme will give your blog a nice refreshing look. Other features includes the ability to change the theme’s color, layout, featured posts, and advertising without touching a single line of code. The theme also feature UBB’s 125×125 block ads plugin built in. Check out the theme in action here.

Three Packages Available

The Citrus Theme starts at $79 for a single use license and goes up to $149 for a developer license. For most bloggers, the package to get would be the multi-use license, which gives you all six colors and the ability to use the theme on an unlimited number of blogs.

Win a Multi-User Package

To help celebrate the launch of the new theme, I will be giving one reader a $99 Multi-Use package. If you want a chance to win it, simply reply to this post and I’ll give you one entry. If you blog about it and send a trackback, I’ll give you five more entries.

Deadline for entries is this Sunday, September 7. I’ll draw the winner on Monday, September 8. Good luck!

Awesome! I’m in…

mr nice guy September 7, 2008 at 9:07 pm

Yes I visited the site. The themes are really awesome. I hope I can have one soon.

Hugo Santos September 3, 2008 at 10:18 pm

it is nice, but in my opiniojn it isn’t really worth the money asked for….

Andy Crofford September 4, 2008 at 7:36 am

I agree. There are a lot of free themes that look nicer in my opinion.

TYCP Entertainment Magazine September 5, 2008 at 5:58 pm

Agreed. I’m not going to knock them though because I’ve seen them make some great themes, but I’m not feeling this one.

Gary September 3, 2008 at 10:25 pm

Cool, count me in!

Ryan McLean September 3, 2008 at 10:37 pm

Pretty cheap for a premium blog. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I am already set with the theme for my financial blog. But thanks anyway

Ryan McLean September 3, 2008 at 10:48 pm

Hey John,
Is your theme a custom theme?
How much did it cost you?

John Chow September 3, 2008 at 11:07 pm

My theme is a one off custom theme. Unique Blog Design charges about $2,000 for a one off.

stevewrightaz September 4, 2008 at 9:52 am

Looks pretty nice. I must say, $149 for an unlimited license sounds like a great offer. And I can’t imagine what they could add for $2K. Your theme looks awesome John.

John Chow September 4, 2008 at 10:28 am

It’s not so much as what they add, it’s the exclusivity. When you order a one off, you’re the only one with that theme. Unique Blog Design can’t sell it again. That’s why it cost so much more.

Joshua September 3, 2008 at 11:02 pm

Go Citrus!

Johnny September 3, 2008 at 11:08 pm

i was always told to eat my fruits! citrus is now my favorite!

Anthony September 3, 2008 at 11:11 pm

Hi awesome man! I’m in!

pkchukiss September 4, 2008 at 12:44 am

The theme looks quite clean without being too plain; I might even buy it if I don’t win it this time round!

100kjob September 4, 2008 at 12:54 am

Great job, I don’t mind a facelift if I have some luck, although I’m still building the foundation for my blog.

dan September 4, 2008 at 1:28 am

What happened to your “how much i made last month” posts.? That’s the only reason I really checked your site, no offense. Is this some sort of case study?

Vero Phoenix September 4, 2008 at 1:35 am

I love this design. I wanna participate!!!

Health Writer September 4, 2008 at 1:59 am

I am in.
Thanks

yatot September 4, 2008 at 2:02 am

nice themes.. but i wish someone will convert these themes to blogspot blogs.. and for free!!! :P

Jaseem Umer September 4, 2008 at 2:18 am

I don’t need a theme now, but still I don’t know why I am tempted to comment in this post. So, make sure not to select me :!: .

acosmin September 4, 2008 at 2:23 am

It’s a nice theme :) but why not use a free one, like one of my wp themes

Akshay September 4, 2008 at 2:46 am

Oohhh. This is great. I thought we have the best magazine theme on our site but these are amzing.

Thanks

Clickusername September 4, 2008 at 3:06 am

It’s time to win something here.

Bryan September 4, 2008 at 4:03 am

They’ve got great stuff. I’m taking a hard look at a custom now.

Bob Goh September 4, 2008 at 4:05 am

I want one!

Syed Balkhi September 4, 2008 at 4:06 am

White color of this theme is the best. The round corner is unfinished but a good one by UBD. I prefer Revolution over all.

Jorge September 4, 2008 at 4:54 am

I’m in.. wheee

Vlad Balan September 4, 2008 at 5:01 am

Wrote about it and also commented, that means I get 6 entries? Anyways, Citrus looks really great and it’s one of the coolest magazine-styled themes, if you ask me.

ndnhumor September 4, 2008 at 5:12 am

Theme is nice, but a template is a template. Why pay? I agree with John on his custom blog, spend the extra dollars there. And $2000 for a custom design from the same crew who did John Chow’s design is good enough for me. Don’t need anymore references than that.

Now, I just need to get the $2K!

Andy Crofford September 4, 2008 at 5:34 am

I could take or leave this one. It would be cool to win a multi-user license though.

Compounding-Dividends September 4, 2008 at 5:36 am

I just went with the UBD Money Maker theme, you can’t beat the price. It’s free

Andy Crofford September 4, 2008 at 7:43 am

Yes, the UDB Moneymaker Theme is nice. I use it on one of my landing pages.

Collin - Feed Flare September 4, 2008 at 6:09 am

I will be buying the dev package with in the week. Count me in though John cuase if I winn I will give it away on my blog..

DoublePlus Ecommerce September 4, 2008 at 6:10 am

Yum! I am loving that electric pink! Enter me for a chance to win plz. Thanks John!

Alpesh Nakar September 4, 2008 at 6:11 am

Looks like I can do with a theme change :) John, count me in.

Gabriel Lai September 4, 2008 at 6:28 am

Interesting…. I’m in too!

Steven-Sanders September 4, 2008 at 6:34 am

I’m making a comment, but don’t put me in the drawing.

I don’t care too much for the magazine style layout. I like for my posts to show on my homepage, just like old school.

Don’t get me wrong, it looks great, and I think it will benefit someone here, but it’s just not for me.

Make money online September 4, 2008 at 6:38 am

Young September 4, 2008 at 9:32 am

I am one of the four winners in UBD’s contest, and have got the theme, which is really a good theme, and I want to to use it for essentialblog later. I think it was really worthy to take part in the contest, and it will be worthy to attend this contest, too.

Tame Your Technology September 4, 2008 at 9:35 am

Sweet! Thanks John. Count me in please.

Nebraska SEO September 4, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Nice, attractive design. Definitely worth a look.

$149 for the developer package is a good deal. The Revolution Theme developer package is twice the price right now.

Britt Malka September 4, 2008 at 6:08 pm

Nice, and I can understand why you got a custom theme.
I blogged about this, too – in Danish
