Want A Chance To Win Another LCD Monitor?

written by John Chow on June 19, 2007

How one lazy bum made $176,697.50

The entries to win a 24″ wide screen LCD monitor are pouring in. Since posting about the evil contest less than 48 hours ago, I have received over 100 entries. I don’t want to take a guess at how many entries I’ll have by the July 31 deadline. If you’re looking at the numbers, you maybe thinking that your chances of winning isn’t so great. Well, I’m about to double your odds.

My hosting Canada web host, BlueFur, is hosting a separate contest to give away a 22″ wide screen LCD monitor. To enter, you just have to vote for them as Best Blogging Host in the Blogger’s Choice Awards. Right now, they have only 33 votes so your chances of winning isn’t too bad.

While you’re there, why not vote for me as well? I’ve been nominated for Best Blog About Blogging and Best Blog of All Time. Thanks to Marc Comeau of Last Blogger for nominating me. Marc would like to ask you to vote for his blog as the Worst Blog of All Time.

LOL if it’s a free monitor, then it’s really good.

Brendan June 19, 2007 at 3:50 pm

I voted, now give me the LCD :)

Marc June 19, 2007 at 11:43 am

Voted! Blue Fur is already up to 50 :)

I’ve sadly fallen way behind in my category as I was surprised to find some really awful blogs working their way towards the top

Done, done, and done! What are the chances of winning both, I wonder — slim to none I guess. I really want that LCD, man LOL.

john its really annoying that your trying to mess with statistics. by making this contest it is no better then bribing people. bloggers choice awards are about choice, you can suggest to people that they vote for something but when you offer to give them something that is different. please dont ignore this comment either.. i want to hear your response and how you justify this as ethical.

There’s no rule against it and BlueFur is not the only one doing it. I never brother to post about it when I got nominated over a month ago because frankly, there’s no point in winning. You don’t get anything other than saying you won the blogger’s choice award. Who wants to win an award from PayPerPost? I sure don’t. It’ll makes it sound like I endorse them, which I don’t.

k, as long as you dont win anything i guess its fair..

you underestimate John’s evilness. He wins more traffic and maybe PR

Josh Buckley June 19, 2007 at 12:08 pm

Awesome, i’ll try both!

I’m so sad with the fact that all my blogs are in portuguese. There’s no way John could decifer them…

I know you alow non-english language blogs to participate in this contest. But what’s the point of writing a review in another language?

Brendan June 19, 2007 at 3:49 pm

You guys should have made them both 24″. What if the same person wins both monitors? Then they will be uneven.

MrGPT June 20, 2007 at 11:10 pm

That person would need to go Vegas if that happened …

Greg Butler June 19, 2007 at 4:50 pm

That happened to me with Google a couple of months ago. All of a sudden my google referals were next to nothing. It took about a month to get them back to normal.

The same with Adsense. Sometimes they’ll just give me the same old ads and they don’t get clicked. And then, for no reason, the CPR triples for a few weeks. They really know how to mess with one’s mind.

You are taking advantage of Bluefur over Blogger’s Choice Awards

I like this contest better! Put down a vote from me.

Igor July 3, 2007 at 1:44 pm

How can they know I voted so they can put my name on the list of names to sort out?

Igor July 3, 2007 at 1:52 pm

How can they know if I voted so they can put my name on a list of all voters and then take a name out?
They’ll send an email afterwards asking for my address for shipping?

John Cow July 4, 2007 at 10:21 am

Go Bluefur Go!

Igor July 5, 2007 at 4:00 pm
