Want To Buy a Button?

written by John Chow on November 30, 2007

Profit from binary options

I have a few 125×125 sponsorship buttons available for December. These buttons are displayed on right side of the page and randomized with each page load to give advertisers even exposure. The price is $500 per month. Advertisers can leverage their button buy with a text ad in the RSS feed (over 14,000 readers) for only $100 more.

If you wish to take advantage of this offer, paypal $500 (or $600) to johnchow@johnchow.com and send the ad creative to the same email. The button can not be bigger than 15K in size. Animation allowed but no Flash. RSS text ads can have a full 80 character title and 150 letter description. Of course, all new advertisers receive a welcome post.

A little too expensive for me but Im sure it's of good value.. Could probably use it now since I was slapped by Google and given a 0 page rank.

Thats good, if my site is fully operational, I will buy it like an investment, why not? I can get the internet traffic, am I right, Mr. John Chow.

John, I'm just wondering what plugin you're using for that? I'm assuming it's a plugin because I really don't see someone like you adding a banner code for every post. I've been looking for something of the sort for a few months now.

Oy...too rich for me right now...

same here...

Such a great price that I can't afford. It sucks not having any money. Being advertised on your blog seems to get a lot of traffic.

Maybe next month. I'll probably have earned $500 from this website by then.

Hey John do you do like a paid for 6 or 12 months in advance and save. So you don't have to worry about getting advertisers each month. Paid for 12 months in advance save $250 a year. paid for 6 months save $100

No I don't do that. I don't have much of a problem getting advertisers.

i would like to know form other advertisers what the benefit is from buying an ad here.

basically you get traffic almost instantly..

and a John Chow boost

John this is a little off topic but I noticed a few days ago that you got rid of the blogosphere widget, I don't recall reading a post about what made you do it.

Any secrets we don't know of? I know you had millions of credits and they weren't converting but how come you ended up giving up on it altogether?

I think you should give a small discount for the price of the ad spot because I hear traffic is much lower in December than it is in peak periods from June to September.

Have a very merry christmas John! Hope you get lots of gifts!
And a very happy new year too, see you in 2008!

Kind Regards,
Fabien

I think it is sold even before you want to buy it now. Be on the waiting list my friends.

What's the clickthrough ratio like, John?

We got about 1000 hits from our ad, made about $800 selling $10 pages... not too shabby as long as you are selling something related with this blog.
You can check out OBW stats here:
http://onebuckwiki.com/plesk-stat/webstat/awstats....

The funny thing is, 90% of the pages sold within the 1st week that the ad was live. It might be good to advertise your ad for 1 week then sell the other 3 weeks to other bloggers and profit that way too.

so you got 1,000 hits for $500...
$0.50/click is what it comes out to. too expensive. rather do adwords for less.

But, what I've noticed is NOT the number of clicks, but number of backlinks you get from JohnChow.com. Getting the RSS ad really helps too.

$500??? Forget that, I'll just reserve a spot on here using Entrecard.

Chances are, the spot will be gone by the time your ad comes around.

Now that's just mean.

Come'on, put up a good fight and post another mean comment. I think John will respond again.

I just don't have the will anymore...*sniff*

Hmm, wish I had the money, maybe someday.

I think 90% of us can't afford it

Wow, I'll get in on this eventually when I finish developing my site =]
