We Got Smilies!

Profit from binary options

Yes, we got smilies! Lots and lots of smilies!

Actually, we always had the smilies. You just had to know the correct code to enter in order to get the smilies to appear. No need to do that anymore! Thanks to the WP Grins Plugins from Alex King, the smilies are now available for anyone to use.

 This Plugin allows you to put clickable smilies on your post and comments forms. Can’t remember the right syntax for one of the smilies? Just click on it and it will be inserted right into your post/comment. How cool is that? :?: :!:

The Plugin is really easy to install. Just upload the single file to your WordPress Plugins folder and then activate it in your WordPress Plugins control panel. That’s it! If you are using a version of WordPress prior to 2.1, you will need to upload the included prototype.js to your wp-includes/js/ directory.

This is my favorite smiley:

I really like the smilies....and from now on, my comment trademark is to have any two types of smilies after what i have commented...

Where is the banana smiley!~!!

This is really cool

 Sorry John but I dont really like smileys

OK.. I'll stop terrorizing your blog now

Peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time!

Hey.. there are no bouncing boob smilies!

This is awesome. Like Hannes said, this will make the blog much more lively and more fun to use. My favorite icon is the .

Cool - this will certainly make the blog more lively

But as with anything - if it's used too much it'll lose it's magic.

Yeah, of course your favorite smiley is the evil one

not very sure whether its a good addition to blog or not

Yeah, they really are being over used!

thanks john ...... u got me

Nice one John, you find all the best plugins!

Hmmm, now that I see a bunch of them in each comment, it got me thinking...and I wonder if spammers and online-mobs are going exploit the use of these when they attempt to hit.

Allen.H

Alright Let's smile

John,
I'm getting the feeling that you are over using the plugins. There should be a balance between manual scripting and plugin use, as over use of plugins slow down your website to visitors using dialup.

I love this one:

Next time you make a post about the 12x zoom in regards to booth babes we'll be able to give an appropriate response:

  :!: :!:

:!: Do you want to Save?

Can you get anymore nerdy?

OK this is gonna get really annoying. they where already ther ebut adding the plugin encourages OVER use. Like so

      :???:              :!: :?:

Cool beans.

What is the point of that comment?!

I can do without the smilies too.

I guess it can be nice, but it doesn't have my vote either; I don't need phpBB smilies to express myself, besides that the animated ones are pretty ugly ;)

@pP and Allen, I agree, in posts it looks pretty cheap to have loads of comments floating through the text, comments are 'ok'.

Sorry to be boring, but I hate emoticons. I use ":)" and "XD" and ":P", but I don't get the need for images. Especially animated ones. They just look tacky.

Maybe if they didn't look like they were created in 1980 I wouldn't have such an objection.

I agree with Allen, fine for comments, but keep them out of the posts :)

pP

I agree! Also, I think it makes the comment area look tacky - although I think it is a good idea, I just wish it was implemented differently....

I think smilies in comments are okay, for some reason I find the excessive use of them in posts makes them look quite..unprofessional. I understand this is just a testing one though, hehe..

 , ofcoarse  is your favourite smiley :)

  :!:

Cute plugin, but it's a little slow  and I'm not sure that it really adds that much in terms of real value... That is, unless you add the dancing bananas of love  as Kiltak suggests. Than I might have to reconsider...

I can see people using it a lot in this post, a few more times in subsequent posts, but will likely end up the way the karma plugin did. But then, I'm feeling pessimistic today as well

You know what I would love, a plugin that lets you edit your last post for about 15 minutes so that a guy could change a Than into Then...

I would love to have a plugin which can just allow the author to comment without going to blog home page and still notify the subscribers

Why not add a "Dancing banana of love" smiley to that list? :)

No smiley list is complete without the dancing banana

Good call on the banana! Where is it :?: :!:

We like twisted better.. suits with my avatar!
