I want to thank everyone who donated to the Union Gospel Mission’s Easter Meal drive. I asked for help and you guys answered to the tune of $507.07 in donations! Because the UGM does not accept PayPal at this time, some readers have PayPal their donation to me in trust. I have received PayPal payments totaling $180.71. I will be adding that to my matching $507.07 donation and present the Union Gospel Mission with a check for $687.78.
Once again, a big thanks to everyone who made a donation to feed the hungry this Easter. I can’t express how proud I am of the John Chow dot Com community. If you haven’t made a donation but wish to do so, you may do it online at Union Gospel Mission Vancouver or Union Gospel Mission Seattle.

One of the most common complaint (or excuse) I hear from potential new bloggers is they don’t know how to install WordPress. Terms like FTP and CPanel are like a foreign language and setting up a database might as well be setting up the space shuttle for a launch. Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...

Wow.. that is a sure sum of money to feed the hungry folks! Applause for the contributers!
Wow, congrats
Why only a check for $687 though?
Because the rest of the money was donated by readers directly to the UGM.
Duh. I’m a bit silly sometimes
John, Way to go. It kinda destroys you’re evil reputation though.
Another great organization that does and awesome job helping people is kiva.org.
No kidding!!! Where is the evil in this???
But…congrats…its good to see you reaching out like this
Great job…everyone that donated should be commended. This was a great idea, John…and I think I may do this on my blog for my community.
That wasn’t very evil.
every other post is evil but this one
This is one of grace, nothing less.
John,
Didn’t you promise to list all the contributors? Are you going to list them in a batch too?
I’m seeing a list of contributors – with a link to their websites…
I guess what he meant that the above is not the full exhaustive list of contributers.
That is the full list.
thats really good, its a cause that everybody should support in one way or other. If not by donation by words. It boosts the moral of people atleast.
congrats
Good show to all who donated! We personally donate to our local Salvation Army.
Wow. That’s terrific. This was such a great idea, John. Really. Great, great, great job!!!
Excellent turnout, and as others have said, a big thanks to everyone who participated, give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it!
wow congrats, that sounds like a nice accomplishment i hope i can achieve someday… giving back
I just notice the post received over 20 thousand views which is unreasonably higher than other post. I am wondering why?
John,
I went back to read your email response to me and I just realized that I misread it. Somehow I got the impression at that time that you “CAN” read the UGM link that I sent you after, and didn’t think that you actually said you CAN’T read and I soon forgot about it. I made the online contribution using the link Ryan mentioned in his reply on my comments at the original thread. I just forwarded you the email from UGM they sent me after I received your reply. Now I know why mysattrack.net wasn’t in your list. Could I get it added to the list John? Thanks.
I’m happy to see that your charity event was a success!

Glad to see so much was raised for helping some people in need! Nothing evil about that.
Great job everybody! I’m glad to have been a part of this.
Maybe John should set up a John Chow Foundation that regularly collects donations? But then he would of course lose some of his evil status – and he probably doesn’t want that happening
Way to go you guys.
wow, way to put the money towards a great cause
