Web Revenue Blog Rankings
According to Pat McCarthy over at Conversion Rater, I am number 3 on the web revenue blog rankings. While I like to think the means I’m the third biggest revenue generating blog on the Internet, that is not the case. What is a web revenue blog?
Blogs that focus on affiliate marketing, display advertising, contextual advertising, and actually helping people generate revenue in these ways by running their own site. This blog is a good example, as well as others in the list.
I’ve intentionally left out company blogs in this area like the YPN Blog, Inside Adsense, and others. I’ve also left out blogs that really just only cover news, or blogs that are really heavy on search engine news and optimization tips. The blogs in these rankings spend a lot of their time talking about making money from a website or blog.
The ranking calculations are based on information from Technorati, Alexa, Complete, Quantcast, Google PageRank, and Yahoo links. Darren Rowse of ProBlogger is the number 1 with the best rankings in 4 of the 6 categories. He was followed by Shoemoney in second place and me in third.
The list is far from complete and Pat understands that. The list was compiled based on the blogs Pat visits or knew were popular. If want to be included in the list or know of a blog that should be included, let Conversion Rater know. You can do so in their comments.

Congrats John. Way to be a role model and an example for us other bloggers.
Reply to this commentAgree, This is great
Reply to this commentThanks John, and I definitely would like to include more blogs in the list so anyone can feel free to comment on the post with their own blogs or others I may have missed.
Reply to this commentI’m a long way from hitting the big times like my role model John but after playing with some layouts, I’m finding a much better conversion with my current theme. Which ironically is a spinoff of John’s current theme (MistyLook).
Check out my site and let me know what you think
Reply to this commentKanwal, your blog looks good, the only thing I would say is it seems a bit wide. I prefer the narrower page, like John’s. But that may be just a personal preference.
Reply to this commentThank you for responding David. It is a bit wide but that had happened after I got the SharePoint community involved and released my Wordpress SharePoint Buzz to everyone so they could help me fix it. It was a decent theme but just not clean enough.
Reply to this commentWhile I congratulate you on doing so very well in the rankings, but it just feels like yet another way to slice a tomato…
Reply to this commentBig surprise that John finds himself near the top of another “best of” list. Inspiration to us all!
Reply to this commentIt is not easy to become the third on the web revenue blog rankings.
Congratulations, John.
Reply to this commentCongrats John. You have a while to go to catch Darren though!
Reply to this commentWell there are clearly blogs out there that make a lot lot more money, eg techcrunch etc. This blog still rates as one of my top 2 favourite blogs together with shoemoney. Hopefully the money will continue to follow.
Reply to this commentI have a hard time classifying TechCrunch as a blog.
