What Are Your New Years Plans?

How do you plan to ring in the new year? Are you going to a big party or staying home? New Year’s Eve is always special for me because is happens to the night I met Sarah. I was with some friends at a New Year’s party at the Plaza of Nation in downtown Vancouver. Sarah was with her friends and we just kind a bumped into each other. The rest as they say, is history.

I don’t have anything big planned for this new year. I’m going to stay home and take it easy. With the recent snow storm and icy road conditions, going out in traffic with potential drunk drivers isn’t my idea of fun. Instead, we’ll have a diner at home and ring in the new year on the Internet. What will you be doing?

  1. New years on the internet sound good to me, but I’ll probably be at my parents house with my wife and kid and we’ll be playing the Wii all night.

    1. I could see new years on the internet being kinda fun if the weather was crappy – and with a Wii??? Not too shabby!! I just got one for christmas actually – I’m a huge fan of wii bowling lol!!

      1. Might think of making New Year Resolutions on New Years Eve :p

I’m going to do the same thing I do everyday, try to take over the Blog world.

          1. We shall compete for the same resolution!

          2. Maybe you should widen your reach and create a network to do that then 😉

    2. I plan on hovering around, leaving comments on blogs

      1. I’ll probably be watching the various telecasts of the countdown live from Times Square in NYC.

      1. Now that my friends is dedication!!! 🙂

      2. That’s awesome! I was thinking of going out of my way to make crazy plans…but I see everyone here seems pretty lay’d back.

  4. This year, I will spend the new year at home with my family. Every past year, for as long as I could remember, I’ve gone out and partied. This year, I will just chill out and watch the ball drop, and pop some champagne!

  5. I’m personally letting my girlfriend figure this one out this year lol – I’ve been way too stressed with the businesses, and I hear were just doing a nice supper club or something like that – nothing too fancy!! 🙂

      1. Not too bad – personally I’d rather ring in the new year with a house party with friends or something – but c’est la vie!! 🙂

        1. Ben Pei says:

Nothing beat spending this special day with your loved one dude..

i wish to be with a few friends. but my mother….
    Teenage Sucks 🙁

    1. It’s funny how you want so bad to hurry up and grow up so you can get away from your parents.

Then when you finally do grow up, you’re always visiting them and doing stuff with them.

      1. agreed….unless she’s a liget looney then hang with her….because if you burn that bridge you won’t have a bridge to cross when the world is aflame. Don’t be stupid.

      2. Can’t say that has been the case with me, but let’s just say that every parent is different. I’m better off without mine.

      3. Ben Pei says:

LOL you are so damn right here Steve.. I am already at the grown up stage…

    2. Go to a house party – or invite a couple of friends round 😉

    2. last time I went to Las Vegas for new years ….. the plane was late so I got to see the fireworks from the plane…..FAIL indeed.

  16. We are lucky enough to have a beautiful young son that is now 21 months old. It was a tough journey getting him here (we had some technical issues). I think my wife and I will spend New Year’s eve sipping a quiet glass of wine, just us and at 11:59 we’ll poke our noses into his room and smile from ear to ear. perfect.

    1. That does sound perfect 🙂

  17. Justin says:

I will spend new year eve at home planing how to make money blogging.

    1. Planning? You shouldn’t be planning, that gets you nowhere. You should be doing!

    2. Planning? All you need to do really is post. Get traffic. Continue to post. Monetize that traffic. Then once you get your blog to a decent size – sell the ads privately.

  18. i wish watch some movie with my friends.

  19. i am going to watch a movie with my friends.

  20. BusinessX says:

    1. The results were in the latest Dot Com Pho video.

  22. I’m super excited about my plans for this New Year!

I’m flying to Switzerland on New Year’s Eve to begin a 5 month trip through Europe on my bicycle. I’ll be blogging, bicycling in the cold and snow, and working via my laptop the entire time I am in Europe. The best part is, most of my clients/customers won’t even know I’m out of the country. I’ll be playing during the day and then working (as little as possible) at night. Ah – the joys of the mobile lifestyle!

I’ve only got one day to pack and get ready, so I better run! Have a great 2009 everybody!

  23. Hi John

Several years ago and for many years before that I managed a nite Club. I always had to be at this club on New Years Eve. It was a big deal in our little community and I put much time and effort into making it a big event for every one to come to. That was fine for every one who came and enjoyed the event, however it was sure a bunch or work and headaches for me.

Now the club is closed due to the no smoking ban. It seems that non smokers do not spend much money, and smokers cannot spend money when they are outside smoking.

Anyway I have enjoyed the past several years spending a nice peaceful New Years Eve with my parents and their friends. Now that I am 50 something and they are 70 something the age difference seems very little and we all have a good time. I never would have thought that could happen 30 years ago when my New Years Eves always consisted of some pretty wild parties.

It is amazing how time changes everything.

Turn it into a video and make that a yearly and monthly event.
