What Is Your Twitter Grade?

written by John Chow on November 12th, 2008

I came across this site call Twitter Grader thanks to Rebecca Bollwitt tweet about being one of the most elite Twitter user in Vancouver.

The Twitter Grader measures the relative power of a Twitter user. It is calculated as a percentile score. I received a score of 99.9 which mean I scores higher than 99.9 percent of the other user profiles that have been graded. So far, 298,303 Twitter users has been graded and I’m ranked at the 203rd spot. The grade is calculated on the following:

  • The number of followers you have
  • The power of this network of followers
  • The pace of your updates
  • The completeness of your profile
  • …a few other

  1. Didn’t you post about this already last month?

  2. I’m trying to ‘get’ Twitter. To me, it seems pointless, unless you’re someone famous or even semi-famous.

I thought the personal blog, e-mail or the cell phone was the vechicle to communicate to the masses.

I’m reading a blog called TwiTip to try to understand the value of Twitter and blogging.

  3. I scored a 98.9, and I’m ranked at 2,214. I’ve got 658 followers and I follow 243. And I’m the #1 Twitterer in my city!

  4. I never done twitter, Is they really good?

  5. Let’s see here:

    42/100
    170,727/298,375

Twitter is awesome, but I kind of stopped using it a lot ever since I installed Twitterific for Mac. Pretty odd really.

  6. I just checked out this Twitter Grading system earlier today – Ironic!

Twitter isn’t nearly as hard as people make it out to be – trust me, if you can type, you can figure it out!

  7. I just checked my grade, I got a 25. At least I am ahead of 70,000 others.

On the upside! I have 15 people following me I didn’t know I had, must be the “I am following you, so you follow me” crowd. Because I think the last tweet I gave said I was beginning to work on the 30 day challenge back in July.

Still it’s a start, I will start working it, see what happens.

    • This just in! John Chow beats Darth Vader in duel for Twitter’s Dark Side.

John Chow scored 99.9 at 202 out of 298,384.
Vader scored 99.8 at 565 out of 298,384.

Congrats John Chow, as Vader has over 17,000 followers. You still whupped him.

  8. Is it the that if you got more follower you will get high grade? Right?
    Thank you

  9. I have a 54. I’m not a spammer like you John.

  10. Brady Ware

Wow I am a 12 sounds good if you are 92 and don’t own a computer. I just started using twitter about a week ago so I guess it is not so bad. Oh and by the way John there is no where in my area with marinated butter beef so I am off the hook. Instead I will marinate a tri-tip and take a bite before I cook it.

  11. I got a 97!! damn im nice

  12. What do you know, I’m a 77…fantastic I still have to pay $3.50 for my cafe mocha at Starbucks tomorrow.

  13. Interesting service – I’ll be signing up.

So, John, do you plan on launching a TwitterGrade challenge to your nemesis Jeremy soon? Should be good as part of the A-list blogger collusion strategy hehehe.

    Thanks for sharing!

  14. 99.5 here…but twitter grader is pretty fickle, you’ll see a lot of fluctuations in the grade. Still a fun tool though! I made twitter elite in my hometown PDX, I’m getting ready for the ticker tape parade any day now.

  15. BarackObama grades at 99.4 but has 129,014 followers.

129K out of how many millions who voted for him represents a very tiny % of people who ‘get’ twitter. (Also, remember that 129K also includes many non-Americans.)

  16. Mine is 95.6 and overall rank of 5039 ! Not bad!

  17. So many dang new Twitter tools lol. How are people coming up with new things to add onto Twitter?!? It’s just amazing :D

    -Mike

  18. Me I have only few followers. I hope those numbers would increase in the near future.

  19. Thats interesting but for me, i haven’t involved much in twitter

  20. We got a 73; what contributed to this number is the fact that we’ve signed up with SocialActions.com’s Twitter mashup available here

    https://www.twitterfeed.com/socialactions

It automatically posts ‘actions’ for causes you care about. Check it out!

  21. i am not the last one but i am really bad.

  22. Im bad now BUT will get better

  23. guess key is to work on ALL diff get the word out tools

  24. Wow pretty cool tool, I just got in the twitter game so my score stinks. I need more followers :)

  25. pretty cool, would not expect any less :) twitter is the must do for anyone now.

  26. I’m at 77/100, not so good i think

  27. I’m a 99.5! That can be good or pathetic since I spend so much time on Twiter.

  28. These sites are popping up everywhere, I just tried twitterrank.com last night, now this one. Both say I suck at tweeting. Oh well, just got to get in the Twitter habit.

  29. Twitter grader is interesting site to grade twitters users.I used this site last month and have 97/100. :D .

  30. im gonna have to try harder now! I have twitter envy!

  31. Looks like I need some improvement there.

  32. very cool – 97.5 and made the Twitter Elite in Western NY – #4 on the list – thanks for the tip – if nothing else – had fun with the sayings that kept popping up while waiting for the score.

Only comment – wished you had set the link to open up in a new window – easier than having to find my way back here to comment…

    thx again
