One of the most common complaint (or excuse) I hear from potential new bloggers is they don’t know how to install WordPress. Terms like FTP and CPanel are like a foreign language and setting up a database might as well be setting up the space shuttle for a launch. Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...

Need it , but can’t be there;
Too bad I live in Ontario…
Hey Shanker Saina Nehwal is doing really good from Indian in Badminton.
I wish I could just commute over every time you have a local contest. Alas, I’d have 0 productivity if I did.
How he manages all this is remarkable though;
Thats the Dotcom lifestyle!
Very cool
I’ll be there myself for the event
If you want you can get free ticket from John.
Will you be playing the game or just watching it?
I’ll check your site since badminton used to be my favorite game when I played it.
Vance
Tennis is my all time favourite game.I like badminton also. But not that much.
I would like to visit this tournament, but I have no intention to visit Canada. I wish you a pleasant visit of tournament
I’m a badminton fan, but couldn’t to be there in Canada.
Looks like a lot of fun, but unfortunately can’t make it. I’m continually amazed by how much cool stuff you have been giving away, John!
Good luck to everybody that participates, if I ever make it over the big pond I make sure to include a dot pho com and some other events in Vancouver in my travel plans, SY
I hope that you manage to visit the city one day.
If you get a nice sunny weather which is not hard especially in the later parts of the summer, there is hardly a more spectacular place to be found anywhere.
I wish I was here. I am a big fan of badminton, so I can only watch it on youtube
lol
Hi John,
I used to play badminton for years, starting as a boy.
I haven’t seen a decent badminton game in years.
I have switched to tennis some time ago and seeing good badminton games would be really cool.

I’d like to go but distance is once again an issue.
It’s amazing how much free exclusive stuff you giveaway
Wow! A real badminton tournament! I’ve never heard of such a thing. And for quite a lot of prize money too. I bet that would be something to see. I wonder what top speeds the birdie reaches?
Badminton is quite as game and it looks deceptively easy. There are wold championships in badminton so it’s not that obscure either.
One thing that makes it quite different from tennis is addition to the different rules and the shuttlecock instead of the ball is that it requires a lot of wrist action.

I also haven’t heard of it before, I use to play it in school for fun. I never knew they had professional competitions of it.
Would love to go if I were in the area. Very cool that you’re giving them away. Watch out, you may have a huge crowd at dot com Pho!
Hmmm… I may make it, if I’d build a racket or something XD Sorry long distance.
Long distance is the problem for me also.
Not possible for me to be there in Canada now.
I live in india.
Thanks for the tickets John. It’ll be great to see you there and enjoy watching the great game which is not very popular in the USA and Canada but is quite popular in other countries.
It’s good to know that you like the game and also used to play it.

This is probably the biggest badminton event in Canada, and I can’t believe it’s happening at home aka Vancouver.
I used to play badminton a lot in high school, but stopped when I went to university. I am home for the summer, and would love to see some intense badminton. I really miss that birdie and the “whooshing” sound from the raquet.
So one more day to go before this starts.
Just checked their website and its saying that ticket for qualifying round is free.
Hi John,
My wife and I absolutely love badminton. We even met playing the sport! Even our 1.5 year old son loves watching it, we’ve taken him along to watch tournaments since he was born. We just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary, and it would be great to take the family to watch Canada’s first grand prix tournament.

I live far away from Canada…
Someone above was wondering how fast the shuttle can go. A new world record of 414 km/h for shuttle speed was set last year by a Malaysian professional player. In pro tournament matches, speeds of about 280 km/h and higher is very common.
I watched the qualifying rounds of the Canadian Open today and there were some good matches. Tomorrow is the beginning of the real tournament, and there should be many good matches from tomorrow onward. Thank you for the tickets John! We’re looking forward to tomorrow.
Today’s matches were quite good. Definitely a step up from the qualifying rounds.
John, are you giving away more tickets for the rest of the tournament? *wink wink nudge nudge*
Its great that you are giving away 36 tickets, I wish I could go but Im not near Canada
is the return ticket included ?
