[...] John Chow Dot Com contains an interesting mix of website reviews, internet news, business advice/tips and war stories from John’s involvement in the tech boom of the late ‘90s, often with a subtle, dry sense of humor. I have especially enjoyed his posts about various aspects of current blog culture, e.g. Google AdSense developments, the evils of RSS, Digg conspiracies and the shortcomings of Alexa.
You've actually answered one of my questions.

I've been wondering why I was being linked to from the oddest little sites. They would have Google Ads and then my site with a bunch of others and a quick blurb on my latest content about seduction/dating or what have you.

At first I thought it was some sort of book marking site, but the feeds were so ridiculuously noncategorical (dating with equestrian with planes?).

Thanks for clearing that up and why I've been running into these little Google RSS Whores. And here I thought my RSS readers were going up! ;-(

You know what? Original content is king. And I think this is only going to become more true in the future. Google and Yahoo are getting wise to RSS and article feeds and will be penalizing sites who don't spend the time to create content rather than copy it. We are now seeing a plethora of duplicated sites that are built on copied content alone from Losing Weight to How to Feed Your Dog.

"The second reason is I have to keep my news editor busy. If my news came from RSS, she would be out of a job and out on the streets (OK, maybe that’s not true)."

I've already beat you too retirement! :) Remember......I'm doing news to keep "YOU" off the streets, and the wolves away from your door.!! :)
