Win 10,000 Entrecard Credits
For the past few months, I’ve been letting my Entrecard credits build up. Currently, I have 18,817 EC credits sitting in my account. I’ve decided to give away 10,000 credits to a lucky blogger so he or she can try out the service.
Entering the contest is extremely simple. Just send a trackback by making a blog post about this contest on your blog. If the trackback doesn’t work, then leave the URL to your blog post in the comment. At the end of this month, I’ll draw a name from all the entries received and transfer 10,000 Entrecard credits into that person’s account.
You’ll need to have an Entrecard account to enter this contest. You can’t spend the credit anywhere else. For those who don’t know what Entrecard is, please read my original review of the service.
New Entrecard Pricing Model
The 10,000 credits will come in handy since Entrecard introduced a new demand based pricing model. Blogs that are in high demand has seen their prices skyrocket. This blog now cost over 1,000 credits to advertise on.
The new price model simply doubles a blog’s price every time someone purchases an ad, and halves it every time an ad completes its run. So if you cost 500, someone could buy an ad from you but they’d have to pay 1000. The next person would have to pay 2000. And so on. But then if two days went by and no one bought an ad from you, you’re price will halve each day. I guess if no one bought ads from me, my price will eventually fall to zero. Then again, the chance of that happening is zero.
Entrecard is one of the best way for new blogs to get targeted traffic. It’s the only way you can get a 125×125 ad on this blog and Problogger.net without paying cash for it. Right now, an Entrecard ad on Problogger cost 4,096 credits and if someone buys it, the new price will be 8,192 credits. That’s a lot of credits but you’ll be able to afford it if you win the 10,000 Entrecard credits. Good luck!

Entrecard is one of the best ways to get targetted traffic to your site? You really want to stand behind a comment like that John?

I am so over ECard..I still spend what ever credits I get, but frankly I do not have the time or the staff to sit ther an drop cards all damn day.

agreed… time is money, and Ecard takes lots of time. I tried their service and just didn’t see any good traffic for the amount of time I had to put in.
I definitely agree. I think Entrecard will bring some traffic, but the time spent is not worth the trickle of traffic I get. I still use it if I get a free hour or so, but man it is a huge time hog.
I still do pretty well with entrecard and I only drop on sites that I happen to notice have the entrecard. In otherwords, I never go to a site specifically for the purpose of dropping my card anymore.
With the new pricing system I can easily get about 32-64 credits for an ad on my site, so my credits add up fast.
that’s a very good service for send traffic to the website. And it’s so easy too. for the people that doesn’t like to drop cards, just wait for the people find you.
I rarely drop cards and always have someone advertising in my blog. If I win I would place on in this website to see how much traffic can it send to my website.

Well it is a easy and free way to drive traffic, but not necessary targeted.
I kind of feel too that the targetting level is dubious – but of course it could just depend on how you advertised your site. Having the right style of ad would definitely create more targetted traffic. However, it probably still wouldn’t compare to those that find you through a search.
To me it seems like if I wanted to target those interested in making money online, this blog would have a fairly targeted audience – maybe that’s just me though.
It is true for what you’ve mentioned, to advertise on high traffic website would cost a lot in real money while if you win the 10k EC, phew.. you actually get a VIP ticket to that ads spot.

JC, I discovered your site a few weeks ago and have been reading it religiously, but as of late, I’ve noticed that it’s been having performance issues (slow page loads, and even page cannot be displayed errors!). This really threw a wrench in my daily routine today, so just thought I’d make you aware if you didn’t already know

Mubin, I’ve advertised twice here with EC, and I got a bunch of clicks on those days.
But whenever i try to advertise here, i always see the space full.. never got a chance.
Same goes to me, not just only chetan, but i think many of us also try to wait for a spot available. Wonder if the ec will extend more space available.

You can’t spend the credits on anywhere but Entrecard.
Yes, but you can bartar them for other blogosphere favors though.
For example:
give me 1000 ec credits and I’ll link to your blog etc.
or
give me 1000ec credits and I’ll accept a guest blog from you etc.
Granted these things should be done anyway for free to help improve ones community connections and readership but there are those out there that are bartaring their credits for just such favors.

I do not think entre card is good targeted traffic most just go entrecard hopping from one blog to another. I did a case study on it john and I didn’t see any good results with it
might be good for people that just want traffic but I like traffic that converts

Yeah I’ve seen zero results from Entrecard. I’ve actually placed Entrecard ads on John Chow, ProBlogger, and John Cow and didn’t get much.

What do you guys think about the whole Power Dropping thing where people just drop by your site using those lists out there, drop their thing and leave. Kind of inflates your traffic numbers without it really being quality traffic.
I guess some will stay though….kind of like StumbleUpon etc.

People use Entrecard in many different ways. Did you know that you don’t need to drop to earn credits? Every time someone else drops on you, you earn credits, and every time you publish an ad, you earn credits.
So it doesn’t need to be time consuming. In fact, you don’t really need to spend any time at all on it to passively earn credits.
Entrecard is fun if you have some extra time to drop your EC . Seems like a nice contest but I think not all will be willing to participate since there is only going to be one winner
. What about making it a contest for 10 winners with 1000 ec / winner

Yo chow not got any more yet for your lipo, but you can give us 10k of those entre card credits. I think its a bit crap really, as I have about 200 credits which took agest to get only to blow it on a half decent site in one day lol. Also dropping your fricking card around is not a GOOD feature, it adds time to what should have been an automated system.

In a sense, you still have to pay for the advertising. It is kind of like trading money. I do recommend my tutorial on getting 300 credits a day. It really pays off. I have slacked off on Entrecard and SiteHoppin. I need to put that on my to-do list for this evening.

I use entrecard myself, and let me tell you that this was a deal John had going last year. It takes time to build up so many credits.
