Win A Gold Pass To Affiliate Summit East 2011

The Affiliate Summit East 2011 happens August 21 to 23 in New York city and I have TEN Gold Passes, worth $549 each, to give away to ten lucky John Chow dot Com readers. The Gold Pass gives you admission to Affiliate Meet Market, Exhibit Hall, Keynotes, Sunday educational sessions; access to all recorded session videos; PowerPoint presentations; and Affiliate Summit Social Network.

To enter, all you have to do is explain in the comments why you should be awarded a Gold Pass to the Affiliate Summit East. The better your comment, the higher your chances of being a winner. Please only enter if you actually plan on going. If you are selected, you must attend. The pass is not transferable and cannot be resold because it will have your name on it. I am only giving away the passes. I am not paying for your travel or hotel. However, I should be hosting another Dot Com NY Pizza event that all winners can attend. I just need to find a sponsor for it first.

IMPORTANT – please note the following:
You must notify the recipients that they cannot be transferred, and the pass codes become invalid in the event the conference sells out.
Also, anybody registering for a complimentary pass who neither checks in at the conference or cancels will be ineligible for future complimentary passes.

The winners will be announce this Saturday, June 25 during Dot Com Pho. This should give you enough time to book your air and hotel if you need it. I know I have lots of readers in the big apple that want to go to the Affiliate Summit but can’t afford the cost of the pass. This is your chance to go! Good luck and enter now!

I follow your tweets so closely that I can illustrate my dedication to affiliate business. I remain signed into twitter so I know exactly when your blog is updated.

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Hey, I beat you. I just took longer to type 😉

Show even more dedication by commenting on-topic like you do on my blog 😉 I do appreciate the discussions.

    2. John you got one more loyal reader here.

One thing which I like about your blog is … You mix the learning and life style very well.

      1. Hey ZK,

You are one of thousands of loyal readers but no doubt you are proving it by commenting a lot more than most of them. John is so helpful because he does what he teaches as you say in other words.

The passes are great and I hope those who win will attend the Affiliate Summit. I*m not sure I*d be able to attend so I will not attempt to win the pass.

      2. Kevin Kimes says:

ZK, your link on your comments and the top commentators list here still have .comso instead of .com on the end. Probably doesn’t work well that way. 😛

        1. Thank you Kevin for telling us.

      3. I can’t attend, but good luck to those who enter.

        1. Me too,I can’t attend as i am from India.Anyway good luck for winners.

    3. Another affiliate summit? Wasn’t the last one like 2 weeks ago?

  2. Kevin Kimes says:

While I may be able to afford to fly to and stay in New York by the time this event comes around, I won’t need a free pass if I decide to attend. I hope only people who are close enough to not spend a lot traveling there and staying there will win these.

If you can afford a big hotel and travel bill, but not the event, then you can’t really afford the hotel and travel 😉

Do you ever sponsor anything John? 🙂 I’m going to estimate the answer: Why sponsor something when you can get others to do it just by asking? 🙂

    1. Jeffrey Kang says:

Interesting. I seemed to have missed the meat of John’s post. I don’t know how that happened.

I guess I don’t really need it because I already hoard every business book that has ever existed to learn as much as possible.

Allow me to predict the future. Presentation will sound like they are winging it. Most of the slides will be “I am reading the bullet points on this slide.” And there’s always someone ruining it for everyone else by trying to sell you crap they wouldn’t use themselves or they’ve positioned themselves so that that will gain competitive advantage of everyone who implements their strategies.

      Not for me.

Dude, I just spent 27 minutes waiting for my ancient (2 year old) BlackBerry to load this page. Trust me, with my ADHD that took some dedication.

PS. Ill be in NY for both shows. I would love to get an opportunity to meet my online idol.

  4. Keith says:

Because I genuinely want to shake the hand of the man who set up my first hosted blog. And I want to wear my shirt that says “I’m with John Chow Bitches!” Oh yea one more thing, I live about an hour away from the greatest city in the world!

    1. So you have all genuine reasons to attend this one … john my vote in favour of this guy …

      1. fas says:

Same here, he deserves to win. Honesty is so cool nowadays.

        1. Where can I get one of those shirts? 🙂

          1. Those shirts aren’t for me, no thanks.

        2. Honesty was always cool my friend.

    2. Fusiondiary says:

Keith gets my vote as well for conveying his genuine feelings in such a simple way

      1. Keith says:

Hey thanks all, but there is only VOTE that really counts! (umm, sorry John, that would be my wife, and if she will let the dog off the chain!)

    3. Kevin Kimes says:

Congrats, you got the one vote that counted!

    Have fun all

  7. Abhik says:

But I can’t attend due to the distance and time it takes to fly to US.

  8. Wow another mega event on Newyork. That is simply awesome ….

People who live in Newyork or near have good opportunity.

  9. Linda says:

I have been with affiliate marketing for many years and have yet to attend an affiliate summit, yet I get invited every year, I am just not making the money that I want to make and maybe it is because I haven’t actually picked a solid niche or maybe it is because I haven’t been able to afford the over night stay there! But, would love to go sometime, think it might just give me the kick in the butt that I deserve 🙂

  10. Glad you all liked the post.

  11. You have great welcome in the video, this is my great pleasure to be a part …

  12. Thanks for offering such great opportunity. I know you’d give me one right away if I ask ;-), but it’s a bit out of my way (I live in Amsterdam 🙂 so I can’t make it.

  13. I’d love to win a pass to ASE, as I’ve never been able to attend the Vegas event because of the cost to get out there and everything. I live in New Jersey, so the travel expense for this show is next to nothing!

Many of my profitable affiliate niches have dried up in recent years, so I’m hoping to learn some tricks of the trade to bring myself income back to my old levels. (Or better)

    Thanks John!

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Congrats on your win! I hope you greatly surpass your previous performance levels.

  14. Good Day,

I want to rub shoulders with the giants of Internet Marketing and of course meeting John Chow in person!

Will be my first at Aff East, pizza on me?

    Thanks =)

    1. Yes still remeber that big giant pizza meeting.

  15. Matej says:

My opinion is that those kind of pass should get new and really pashionate affiliates, so i would be honored to get the pass. Also i camo from Slovenia (really small country with less than 2millions of people), and i would like to prove that you can get succeed from that part of the world too!!

    Thanks in advance

  16. Lori Meyer says:

    Hi John:

Thanks so much for the opportunity to win a pass!!!! I would welcome the chance to thank you in person and give you a BIG hug for inspiring me to move forward in this business.

I would also love the chance to surround myself with others who have made a profound difference in my life and helped me take the next step forward.

The Summit is a rare opportunity to learn from the best in the business.

John, I’m throwing my hat in the ring and I’d consider myself very blessed to be able attend, and…..the city is a stone’s throw away for me.

    Thanks for this opportunity John!

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Congrats on winning a pass, I’m sure it was the hug that put your entry over the top. 🙂

  17. John I love your posts! They motivate me to do better. I am more of a new follower but I love the content. I would love to go to the Affiliate Summit because I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have tried the journey on my own with no mentor, thinking I can do it with no guidance. I would utilize this event to create new relationships and connect with a mentor. Thank you for all your motivating posts!

  18. The reason I am important for you to have at the show under one of your tickets is that I am the “Salesman to the Stars” and will provide “The Ultimate Client Experience” for anyone that I interact with. Having my name on your ticket is a value add for both you and me. Bottom line – you don’t have to be great to start, just start to be great.

  19. Rick Doggett says:

This is the obstacle that I have needed moved from my path. I intend to be at this event. And the event is in my backyard as I live in NJ, just 14 miles away! I am ready to make money online. I just attended a energy clearing session with Christie Marie Sheldon and I am ready to move past the blocks I have had to my wealth and abundance. There is a GOLD ACCESS ticket with my name on it. Thanks John. You timing is impeccable. And thanks for inspiring so many to follow their dreams of financial independence while doing what you love.
    Blessings and Continued Success
    Rick Doggett

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Congrats on your win, smash those roadblocks!

  20. Patrick says:

I’ve been a web developer for over a decade, encompassing both my younger years before college, and my years after. I came from a poor family in queens, and moved around a lot in my lifetime. I saved myself from a life of poverty and crime by falling in love with programming and working very hard to get through college with a minimal amount of debt. I have, over the years, launched a very many number of website “initiatives” all in the hope of making money. To date I have failed each and every time. One time I had built a fitness website that was starting to *finally* get traffic, and the affiliate store REVOKED ME for whatever reason. I’ve never made more than a 5-10 dollars in a month on adsense, and that’s only by aggressive marketing that wasn’t nearly worth it.

If you give me a ticket to this conference, I will drive down from Albany, and I will go. I need a change, or a break, or something. For as well as I’ve done for myself I’m stuck in a cubicle. I believe something like that would help motivate me, inspire me, and potentially get me to figure out how to do it “the right way.”

I almost never read your blog, I’m just signed up on the email list. So if you were to give me the ticket you should be aware of my standing.

  21. Ed Rivera says:

I’m new to this arena (6 months) and would love to attend the summit to learn a great deal more than I otherwise would on my own. Although I can not afford to attend the Vegas event, I live in New Jersey which means I can attend the NYC event due to my close proximity (but the show is still expensive). I’ve often referred to this blog for the great information it provides and yet always yearned for more information! I believe that the summit will put me on the fast track to success! It would also be interesting to meet the people that I admire (are you reading this John Chow? and read about those who are doing well in this field. It would be great to put a name to a face. I’m looking forward to more engaging and timely information from you John. Thanks!

  22. Bob says:

I’m newbie and just sign in on your list. I like your style, learn, fun make money and help other. I lived in DC only short distance to NY. I need to learn very quick to be able to make living online as affiliate marketer. It’ll be great experience for me to go to this affiliate summit. So, I can learn a lot. Then you can build blog for me to make money online. Please allow me to be 1 of 10 lucky person, so I can book my trip in advance to save money.
Wish you and your list best of the best.
    Bob Bangkok

  23. I’ve been a member of your list for a while now and you seem like a pretty down to earth type of guy. I think it would be cool to meet you in person.
I started marketing online a couple of years ago as a hobby, but have been building it more seriously over the last couple of months and have been considering making a trip to an affiliate event for the first time.
I think this opportunity could really kick it into overdrive.

  24. Ben L. says:

    Hi John,
I am doing my first steps in the Internet world and there for I have a lot to learn and to catch up with all the experienced ones. Second, I believe that miracles can happens.

  25. wallace says:

  26. Hugo Vitullo says:

Man, this is it ! My site is going live in 10 days and I NEED to go to this event ! I need to meet people and get a hands on feel of what it’s like to be surrounded by the biggest players (you’re still no 1) in the affiliate business.

I made a ton of sacrifices to start my site and hopefully winning a ticket for this event will be the first reward !

Keep it real. John you inspired the name of my site (NoBullWebMarketing)

Thanks for the chance of a lifetime John,

  27. John,

If I do not win a ticket,I will have to shoot this dog.
Please don’t make me do it!

    1. Bobby says:

You sick puppy, (pardon the pun) !!!

I bet you eat puppy too.

    2. Kevin Kimes says:

That’s got to be the worst entry of them all. And what a surprised, it didn’t win.

  28. Steve says:

I will personally protect you from all the hustlers and pimps around time square while ushering all the ladies your way.

  29. Jen Sako says:

If I won a gold pass, I would definitely go because I just moved to Pittsburgh from Dallas, so I could drive to the city quite easily. I have my own event planning company and I am a terrific blogger. The companion blog to my company website, the JenSako StyleBook, is being modeled after your eBook (the one your subscribers receive). I am so anxious to learn more! Plus I could help you with your pizza event.

  30. Tom says:

Hey John – I’ve followed your blog since last year. Although I’ve opted-out of most IM blogs, yours is one I still follow regularly. I appreciate it because you are real and create a consistent fusion of your personal and relevant, constructive business ramblings. Your recent SEO posts were very interesting. I’ve been to ad:Tech but never AS. NYC is just a quick trip south for me and the timing is perfect – for my career and my family. I would love to experience ASE to engage in the energy, latest information, conversation… and the pizza;). Thanks – Tom

  31. Peggy Sue says:

Thanks, John, I would love one of those passes to Affiliate Summit East, as it would be
lovely to meet you in person, to put a face to that kind voice; and to learn more about the business as well as to network so that we can better help serve the 2,200 Charities that we already work so hard to try to support.

  32. I will be traveling to New York this summer anyway, and would love to have a ticket to attend this. I want to learn more about the affiliate marketing and how it can help my business to help more people accomplish their goals and achieve more success.

  33. Andrea says:

    Hi John-
I’m positioning myself for a career move or another stream of income in 2011 and Affiliate Summit East will be a great push. In the past I did office and marketing support for my husband who was an I.T. guy here in Seattle area. In Feb 2010 he passed away as a result of a stroke, he was in the hospital for 2 weeks…then gone.

Since then, I moved all our IT clients to other providers and am now working on web development and helping people figure how they want to promote their business online. Affiliate Marketing is something I wanted to get into a few years ago. A local AM guy showed me the ropes and I learned about all kinds of AM tools and connections.

During 2011 my goal is to bring in additional streams of income. I have a son starting college this fall and another son going into 6th grade. I love New York and would love to get back there for some learning, connections, and some fun.

    Thanks- Andrea

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Congratulations on winning the pass, I hope it provides an excellent boost to your efforts. Sorry to hear about your loss, you have my belated condolences.

  34. gracias por esta oportunidad porque deberia obtener un pase porque estoy empezando en el mundo de la comercializacion por internert y estoy dispuesto a tener exito cueste lo que cueste.

  35. John says:

Why I deserve a Gold Pass. Well to begin with let’s look at your requirements – I must attend – I work in NYC and live only 30 minutes North of the city so no issue with travel expenses. As for why I need this pass. I have operated several successful blogs since 2006 – celebrity gossip, men’s entertainment, funny pics etc..My revenue stream has been primarily cpc and cpm – which is fine it makes money, but with my traffic I feel affiliate marketing offers more upside. I have experimented with a few sites/landing pages/facebook ads, but believe with the right guidance and knowledge I could really make a run with affiliate marketing. What I need is an opportunity to move to the next level. With a wife that is a stay at home mom to our 18 month old son and my full time job plus blogging I need to get a kick in the ass and feel the Affiliate Summit East is the place to get just that! Meet with and listen to some of the most successful members of the industry is the key to taking my business to the next level – and hopefully to the next phase of a new career.

  36. Rhonda Page says:

John, I have been following your blog and tweets for about a year. I am a special educator is who learning to do “everything” related to affiliate marketing on my own. The reasons I read and follow you is that I feel like I know you virtually. You have a way of developing relationships virtually, and I feel like you want to share, and not just to sell your products. I would love to meet you at ASE11, and learn every bit I can at this opportunity! Thanks!

  37. I learned a lot from you, It just like the learning course need one practical class to attend. Only you can help me get out there and meet the real people behind the affiliate scene. I wish you could know how eager i am to be there. It would be a life changing moment for me that’s for sure. Let me get there and see my real Guru JC talking to me live and just before me.

    Thanks very much in advance.

  38. I am an affiliate, but I want to mastermind all the possibilities, and become a supper affiliate.
So, the best place to learn, grow, networking is the Summit conference, I hope I’ll meet you as well, and I am living in NJ, this will make easy for my to commute to the conference.

  39. Desirree says:

I live in New York and would love to attend Affiliate Summer East 2011, as I know that I can learn a lot as I have already learned a lot due to following you! Good Luck Everyone 🙂

  40. PPC Ian says:

Seems like a great conference! Best of luck to everyone entering the contest! 🙂

  41. Kevin says:

    Hi John,

Long time reader here from NYC. I love your blog and would love to meet you and show you some of the cooler spots in my city. If you were to get me tickets, I would not only go, but I would organize your dot com pizza event at one of the best pizzeria’s in town.

I feel like I owe it to the man that set up my first blog and hosting and personally responded directly to me within minutes of me running into issues with hostgator.

Most importantly, I am hungry to learn at this summit and would do my best to make your and the other winners NYC experiences fun and memorable!

    Thanks, Kevin

    1. Kevin says:

I forgot to mention that I also work for one of the fastest growing tech startups in the country with great new segments, many of which are outstanding for affiliate marketing! Pick me and let’s talk!

      1. Kevin Kimes says:

Hey, you’ve got quite a name! That must be why you won a pass! Congrats. (at least I think it was you, there’s another Kevin entered as well, heheh)

    2. As a fellow winner, I’m looking forward to the pizza! 😀

  42. fazal mayar says:

I wanna go because I want to be a successful blogger and learn from knowledgable guys up there and of course have fun. I want to make a trip as I never did in the past, its time to stop living under a rock as we say. This is why i should win a free pass.

  43. I do have respect for ambitious people like myself.

  44. Hey John,

Thanks for the offer. I have been having amazing success with social media and SEO where my website is in the top 1.37% of websites visited according to Alexa. I am ranking high on Google. And, I just began only 7 months ago with this site. I have several others sites I am getting stated now and am exited to make a profit from them. I joined several affiliate groups and am having a tough time turning these into profit. I get many clicks on the banners but very low conversions. So, I would love to be educated more on affiliate marketing so I can make more money which will enable me to expand my reach to others. Plus getting to New York for this event would be pretty cool and beneficial to meet amazing people. I am only two hours away so its very convenient for me. 🙂
Great job with this site John…I am a newbie here and have already learned quite a bit.

  45. Sid says:

Well, there are several reasons why I would like to go to this event. I think the particular area that I work in, a very new niche, is poorly represented even though it is gaining mainstream popularity. I am going to publish an article on Problogger about the same and hope to inspire others to follow non-traditional routes of affiliate marketing: not just write about internet marketing/blogging – there are plenty of opportunities all over the place.

I live in New York, so it shouldn’t be hard for me to attend 🙂 I can commit to it. Plus, it is always a great thing to meet John in person, the guy who set up my blog in the first place 🙂

  46. JIN says:

i was that guy who had so much passion for the internet web designing programming ect. now i am so tired of it been trying so hard to make some money in the last 5 years made nothing man i wish i could do something different all i want is a regular income is that too much to ask for ?????

  47. spanish fly says:

Too bad.. I am living too far away..Wish I can be there:) can consider throwing out free air ticket too 🙂

  48. Matthew says:

Hi. I would like a pair of those tickets.

I also live in Richmond, BC, Canada. I first noticed your John Chow website when I saw the video of you walking and talking in the park just off Garden City.

I talked to you before on one of your webinars. I was surprised that I got to the chance to get to ask you a question which really helped me.

If I could go to this Summitt I am sure that it would change my life; because I have a website and an Ebook… however I have not managed to put them together via Clickbank. I also have another Ebook that I would like to sell that has to do with Internet Marketing. I would sell it at

Yes…I own the – I think that this web name is awesome.
My other website is – this website is about How to Teach English Overseas more effectively; because I spent 5 years in Taichung and Taipei, Taiwan teaching English.

If you could send one of those pairs of tickets my way… it would help me get from where I am now to where I want to be.

    Thanks. RULES!

  49. rick says:

Sounds like a lot of fun.

  50. Richy says:

Frankly, I had never heard of the dot com lifestyle until today.

For the last 8 years, my ‘lifestyle’ has been that of a person with tons of time and no $ due to disability. actually it is more like a ‘comastyle’ than a lifestyle as it is hard to feel alive when you cannot go anywhere.

About 10 months ago I woke up from a dream saying ‘this is it’ I have to try no matter how hard it will be, no matter how deep the depression is, or how ashamed i feel , to find some way to have a career again so I can live with self respect and be able to take part in the world. It has just been passing by and it sucks to be a shut in with no avenue to enjoy life since most things do cost money, i am not talking about paris and hawaii, just talking about a place to live in that is bigger than a walk in closet, clothing more fashionable than a tshirt (and i am thankful that i have that), food more nutritious than canned beans, the essentials.

As a result, I spent alot of time trying to find a niche, some way to be employable, some way to end the embarrassment of the current situation. I spent a month in a rehab center getting tested as to what field I could possibly go in. After submitting many rejected proposals, i suggested web design development as a potential job goal to the powers that be who are trying to help me get back to work have been sponsoring my education. They accepted it. i have a computer now and am taking classes for html, javascript and more to come. i happened upon this site and this .com lifestyle via a comment i had seen by kevin kimes on another website. I live in the city. I can get to the events fortunately. i would very much like to learn about this field since it can give me a chance to become an earner, it would mean alot, more than alot, because for the last 8 years, it is very hard to be part of the world, yes, im grateful to still be alive, but i would like to participate in this life as much as possible. Thanks for the opportunity.

  51. Lisa says:

I just want to say that I am so glad that a co-worker of mine introduced me to your site. You have shown me that my dreams are attainable, and I am so much more inspired than I have ever been. I hope that one day I too will be able to give back like you do. I’ve always wanted to, but as a single mom myself, I couldn’t help others while I struggle to help myself. The fact that you are so attainable, you really do anwser every email personally and I thank you for that. I have searched the intenet for years, and you are the first to truly give correct and direct information for FREE, and for that I thank you. Oh, and yes I would like to go to the summit. If there is any chance that by going, my children would have a chance to go to college or that I could help my community in any way, then yes I would love to go to the summit. Again thanks for your help and inspiration.

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Congrats on the win! I hope it helps you go far beyond your goal of sending your kids to a fantastic college.

  52. Danny says:

John, thanks for this opportunity for us to win a FREE Affiliate Summit East 2011 ticket!

Convincing you may not be easy since so many qualified individuals but will have to try and do my best.

I have many very good reasons: (hope you find them amusing)

    1. I have nothing else better to do on August 21, 22, and 23rd.
    2. I can fly myself to NY and get a place to stay plus enough for some good food but maybe not the ticket.
    3. I am craving to have NY Pizza and NY Pho – especially Banh Mi Saigon Restaurant since it got some great reviews on Yelp.
    4. I have not been to NY.
    5. It will be a very memorable and special trip for me – even more special along with Affiliate Summit East 2011 and to meet my internet superhero John Chow and others.

And last one as to why I should be awarded a Gold Pass to the Affiliate Summit East is because I have a burning desire to make CPA / Affiliate marketing work for me. I started a month ago from a 1.5 year journey of test driving all different areas of internet marketing and attained a good amount of knowledge as well as lots of hands on experience. I made a few bucks here and there and loving it – being my own boss and flexibility of time. I am full-time at this. I am really a Web Developer but nothing holds my interest and focus more than CPA / Affiliate marketing through PPC traffic. It is the best fuel to my brain. All the constant rush of researching new products / offers, testing, tracking, building, creating, tweaking, etc., and etc. I feel very Ninja. It’s fun! I simply have found my passion, my definite chief aim and I would surely make the best of the time there and connect with as much people as possibly and build successful relationships.

This free Gold Pass would be a privilege to have. This will be a step closer to reaching my internet marketing goals and a step more convenient to my wallet as well of course.

This would be the greatest opportunity of a life time to network with like-minded people who are ahead of the game and if any at all at the same level as I am.

Thank you John for this opportunity in particular and all your other opportunities! Keep up the good work!

    – Danny boy
PS: My girlfriend and I love your Pho videos – maybe we could have a bowl of Pho together. Big Fan. We eat through many Pho places in Los Angeles – San Gabriel to be specific. 🙂 There’s actually a Pho King here HAHA

In the early 70’s, when a foolish alchemist came to the world so many people were convinced to see something different in this cute baby…and it was quite right.
Adopted by the virtual world in the last decade, he became an helmsman for the Human Rights and…”Save the Last Foolish Man Foundation”…and…!
…and this is not a ” fatal error”, but a short intro for my new blogosphere space who I will launch really soon from my Italian den.
Why to be rewarded by you “Mr.Moto”? Simply, a new blogosphere space launching means more competition but even more profitable ideas left on the table for sharing.

    Thanks for reading

  58. Whitney says:

What is exactly is affiliate summit, does it just teach you new affiliate marketing tricks? I could really use something like this…I’ve been into affiliate marketing for a while now….only made a couple bucks here and there…….it seems very difficult, maybe I am just going at it wrong. I would SO love to go to this!

  59. Naeem Henry says:

I went to Affiliate Summit last year for the first time and learned much about how I can make an impact on the internet if I dedicate some time and get serious. I’m an African-American male and there aren’t much of us represented or perhaps in the advertising space on many levels. Affiliate Summit allowed me to network with people and merchants better than any conference I’ve been to thus far.

  60. Thanks for the best article John

  61. Nando says:

After three years of working online and becoming an SEO geek, I’ve never attended a live internet marketing event. If it’s possible to qualify for these passes I would definitely go because it’s what I’m into and l live in Queens, N.Y. about 15min. away from the city.

Hope that qualifies me for a pass. Take care.

  62. yuvraj says:

I have followed you over years, i am just 17. I really appreciate the way you are growing your influence. The up gradation from text articles to videos, was really enchanting. I loved the way you promoted your affiliates and helped other at your network to grow with you. But this new transition and inclination towards organizing affiliate parties and affiliate meets, has been a mystery for me. I really wish i was part of this.

I live near New York City and that is my birthday week.

IT WOULD BE THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT ever to attend your affiliate Summit.

  74. Tony Cato says:

I would like to go to the Affiliate Summit East 2011 event because I have a renewed passion for learning and greatness as of the past year or so, and I would like nothing more than to share happiness, health, wisdom, and knowledge with everyone that I meet. Life is beautiful, and by attending this event I will gain more of the skills needed to be successful in life, and if I am successful then the people I love will be successful with me. I have one year left in college, and attending this event will help make this last year, and my future career, simply wonderful.

  75. While I won’t be able to go to the show, it certainly has been entertaining reading everyone else’s comments as to why they deserve the pass. Good luck to all of you! See you at a show in the near future.

  76. Hi! John,

Thanks for giving us a chance to win a Gold pass to the Affiliate Summitt East 2011!
I ‘d love to attend because I feel and see blogging as my new career and adventure!

Since I’m in the early stages of learning how to build, optimize and monetize my product reviews blog, I’m excited to learn even more about Affiliates, the technologies and how to work it successfully. Plus, if given the opportunity, I’ll get to meet you and other fellow bloggers and from just being in that environment, I’ll turn into a sponge and just start absorbing inspiration, energy and all that good stuff.

And being that the Big Apple used to be home for me for 6 years, I still remember how to get around, I have family there and it will be a visit long overdue.

So, John I ask that you give me the opportunity to attend the Affiliates Summitt.

  77. Janell Zirnhelt says:

I would love to connect with all of the affiliate marketers at affiliate summit. I would
like to make affiliate marketing my lifes passion. “Choose a job you love, and you will never
have to work a day in your life.” That’s my motto. I love everything about what you do and how it works. I know it can work great for me too.

  78. Leticia Fletcher says:

    Hi John,
Many bloggers do not realize that in order to be successful they must connect with the right audience. This is what you have taught me. Community rules! It’s that one-on-one training that you have given your readers for years, many of them have been free. Your tips have been quick and detailing, yet remain simple for the newbie and vast for the hardcore developer. When I can learn in a forum like yours, this is only a blessing!

Thank you for your tutorials, because of you I too believe that I will reach to great heights like Maria Andros and Katie Freiling in a short matter of time. We are extensions of one another and being at the Affiliate Summit will keep me inspired. Just the idea of being in a space with smart ever-changing and disciplined marketing individual would help build my techniques and expand my boundaries. Please help me Unified Community grow into a sure-fire ZEN GARDEN :)!

    I pray consider my request.
Leticia Fletcher, The Affiliate Angel 🙂

  79. John – you know that I should win because a) we threw a sweet meetup at HasOffers thanks to my direct help and b) I just quit my regular day job to let my online work take over and I really want to go to this conference… you should hook it up!

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Congrats on winning, and I hope your move to full time online work goes great.

  80. Darryl Tott says:

Having attended Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas I know how valuable to relationships build can be. I was fortunate enough to having a winning entry in your previous contest. I was also lucky enough to interview you for some first time networking tips.

I have just complete the ultimate guide to Affiliate Summit including some elements form your interview and photos:

Since the conference I have taken action to develop my business through using a multiple of income and revenue streams. I am fortunate enough to say that most of the ideas, offer, and tips were learnt through the relationships established in Las Vegas.

I am still new to the industry, and any revenues I am earning are being piled back into the business. Over the last 6 months through building other sites I have not had time, maintaining a full time job, to focus on building my personla brand.

Being an avid follower of your blog, yet I admit not an active contributor, I see the value in the trust relationship through creating a personal brand. As you are aware prior to the conference I went to great lengths to create a personal brand.

I see the opportunity to win another competition to further develop my knowledge through the phenomenal presentation and individuals affiliate, rekindle old relationship and re-establish relationship and also make new connections.

Also I would also like the opportunity to part with you again, one of the highlights, wear your t-shirts and support what you are achieving and earning. This is my thank you for the opportunity you have presented to date to help me leave the 9 – 5 job.

I hope you take the time and opportunity to read the article and video I have written.

As will all great competition entries I have to offer a unique USP to my entry. Previously I did this by writing how to win your competition. Now I am going to make an John Chow Rap Video, to the tune of your choice, and hearing an English without a ghetto london accent is hilarious.

    Thanks again,

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Congrats on the win, I think if there was a first place, you’d have gotten it with this entry.

  81. christian says:

  82. Phil says:

My story is probably similar to other Baby Boomers who were bitten by the computer bug as a university student in the late 1960s. The object of my lust was an IBM 360/65 mainframe. I was a new systems programmer at a major university. This was in the day when a 19 year-old was entrusted with a $15 million computer system that ran much of the state’s data processing. The computer was “checked out” to me from 2-6 am each morning. In those days, there were few books on assembler programming, compiler writing, operating system design, etc. Most of what we learned came from
reading system dumps, reverse engineering, and lots of rebooting. The overriding goal each night was to make certain that the system could boot by the time the morning operations crew arrived at 6 am.

I remained in a university environment for quite a while and we were one of the first schools tied into the old ARPA net. It didn’t take long for me to realize the full potential of this network should it become open to the public. When the Internet was commercialized in 1995, I registered a domain name and set up a website. I took part in the “Great Domain Name Registration Gold Rush” of the late 1990s and registered quite a few generic domain names. Of course,
affiliate marketing was only offered by a handful of companies like CD Now and Amazon. But, I got aboard early on.

Over the next few years, I ran about a dozen affiliate websites in as many different
market niches. I’m embarrassed to say that I did virtually nothing to generate traffic.
This was in the day when Altavista and Infoseek were still major search engines. Most
of my domain names had embedded keywords. If someone accidentally typed
“blue widgets” (for example) into the url field of a browser back then, the browser would automatically combine the keywords and add a “.com” suffix. So “blue widgets” typed into the url field as a search phrase would automatically be directed to the website “”. All of my affiliate websites fit this format. Of course, I only discovered this unique feature after the domain names were registered. But, it generated a lot of traffic for me. After a few years, browsers no longer supported this quirk and traffic dried up as old browsers were updated.

Like most of the people who read your blog, I held down a full-time job and devoted as many hours as I could after work to my Internet properties. About 8 years ago, I became ill with a chronic disease and scaled back my activities. I just didn’t have the energy, focus, or drive to do what needed to be done. I spent my time focusing on getting my health back and spending quality time with my family. I parked my domain portfolio at a PPC site. The handful of affiliate websites I had left ran on
auto-pilot and declined year after year due to a lack of care and feeding.

During my Rip Van Winkle phase, affiliate marketing was hit by a tsunami of exciting new technologies. Blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin,
YouTube, all emerged as important tools in an affiliate marketer’s quiver. Before I took my leave of the marketplace, I never gave any thought to SEO,
    organic growth, backlinking, etc.

Earlier this year, my health improved and I started to slowly put in the time to learn how the world had changed while I was hibernating. The John Chow blog was one of the first Internet Marketing websites I came across. I’ve read virtually every article on it and it has ignited in me a strong desire to get back in the game. I admit that I feel like one of those neanderthals discovered trapped in permafrost on the side of a mountain. I’m hoping that the Affiliate Summit East conference might be just the thing I need to help me thaw out more quickly and gain the knowledge and the contacts to jump-start my return to affiliate marketing.

    1. yuvraj says:

Well..mate… i totally agree with you…. your presence at the summit will not only benefit you but also other budding affiliate marketer. Your vast experience is reflected from the way you have narrated your story. I am totally touched and i think you deserve to be at this summit and share your knowledge with people who might learn from your experience. If i was the winner of this free pass i would have requested Mr. Chow to forward the pass to you.

  83. John,
I think we’ll have a great time, learn a lot and schmooze like its nobody’s business.
Oh wait, it IS our business! Let’s get started! Let’s go John! NY is my birthplace and was my home for 40 years. You will have no better person to learn the NY customs with than me!

  84. Jennifer Lawson says:

I have 20 domain names and 20 ideas. I would really like to learn affiliate marketing and I believe this conference could help me launch my idea boats. Then I can really leave my day job and work full time on my dreams. Thanks for your consideration 🙂

  85. Jo says:

    Hi John,

I’d love a pass to Affiliate Summit East even though I live in the west (BC) like you. I will be in Vancouver at the time of the Summit attending another event. But I’d love a pass for the next Affiliate Summit West. I ticked off my neighbor by asking her for a discount on her Affiliate Marketing program last year, I soon found out she’s all about the money and not being a helpful neighbor. I’m sure you know who she is, John. She claims to make $30,000 – $50,000 per month, and now with her program, even more. I’m serious about learning all I can about affiliate marketing, and I have someone living next door to me who is an expert but she won’t even talk to me. She has no patience for newbies, and certainly no generosity of spirit.

Thanks John, for being helpful and patient and always here to answer questions. And for being so generous — it pays huge dividends!

  86. Many of them got the chance to take part in summit

  87. Forex News says:

Would love to attend, just getting my feet wet but ready to jump in!!!

    Have fun all

  88. Dennis says:

Honestly, I do not know much about affiliate marketing and have just started looking into it as an income stream. I have some friends that have tried it and not made any money. But just because it doesn’t work for some doesn’t mean it would not work for me. If I wanted to catch a cold I would hang with people who had colds. If I want to learn how to make money in this industry, it stands to reason I probably should hang with people who are making money. I also live 50 miles from the greatest city in the universe, so travelling would not be an issue.
Thanks for your consideration. I hope to meet you soon.
