Win A Gold Pass To Affiliate Summit West 2011

Blog World Expo is barely over but it’s already time to think about the next big trade show in Las Vegas. That’s right. It’s time for the 2011 Affiliate Summit West! This can’t miss show features the best the industry has to offer and the 2011 show promises to be the biggest one yet. What can be better than going to ASW? How about going to ASW for free?

The Affiliate Summit West will take place January 9-11, 2011 at Wynn Las Vegas and I have TEN Gold Passes, each worth $549, to give away to ten lucky John Chow dot Com readers. The Gold Pass gives you admission to Affiliate Meet Market, Exhibit Hall, Keynotes, Sunday educational sessions; access to all recorded session videos; PowerPoint presentations; and Affiliate Summit Social Network.

Wynn Las Vegas

This is the first time Affiliate Summit will be held at the Wynn and I’m sure it’ll be a much better location than the old Rio.The Wynn is my favorite hotel in Vegas. I love staying there. Best of all, Affiliate Summit has arranged for a special group rate of only $189 per night.

To enter the contest, all you have to do is explain in the comments why you should be awarded a Gold Pass to the Affiliate Summit West. The better your comment, the higher your chances of being a winner. While it’s not required, doing something extra, like making a blog post, spreading the word on Twitter/Facebook/etc., could help you chances. Please only enter if you actually plan on going. If you are selected, you must attend. The pass is not transferable and cannot be resold because it will have your name on it. I am only giving away the passes. I am not paying for your travel or hotel.

IMPORTANT – please note the following:
You must notify the recipients that they cannot be transferred, and the pass codes become invalid in the event the conference sells out.
Also, anybody registering for a complimentary pass who neither checks in at the conference or cancels will be ineligible for future complimentary passes.

The winners will be selected on Saturday, Oct. 30. This should give you enough time to book your air and hotel should you win. Good luck and I’ll see you in Las Vegas!

  1. John I would like to go to this affiliate summit because I know I could really understand the advantage of affiliate marketing and how some of the top affiliate marketers understand and leverage there business. I have never attended an event like this and it would be a great experience to attend something like this. I have been studying your methods and how you blog and would love to have the honor of seeing it up and close for myself as well. This pass is something that I know could assist me in the year 2011 in being a better blogger and understanding what true affiliate marketing is as well.

  2. John, I want to take Grocery Alerts to the next level.

I want to be able to target my market better, increase my ROI and decrease the amount spent on my ad campaign.

This would let me take my coupon and grocery deal website to another level promoting great products to my loyal and passionate visitors.

The content that is going to shown would be so promising to an up and coming blog. I always wanted to get inside insider’s ears and find out how to take Clickbank to the next level.

I am also a lot of fun and would be a great to meet some well-known bloggers.

All the best everyone. I won it last time and every person who is in to affiliate marketing must try and attend this event. Make sure you meet John once you are there… Hes a wonderful person.

    1. d3so says:

Awesome, I’m glad you had a good experience.

      1. I’m glad too. John is a good person to meet. I’d want to win the ticket but won’t be available to go so I’ll let others to compete for it. Just bear in mind that the hotel is around $200 per night and all the other expenses which you’ll still have to cover yourself.

        1. Harshad says:

In fact, there are a lot cheaper hotels near The Wynn. If you ask me, hotels in Las Vegas are lot cheaper as compared to hotels in NYC where Affiliate Summit East happens most of the time.

John – I am not entering this contest as I have some work back home during this period. Will be at ASE11 for sure.

    2. Bidet says:

Congrats on the win, its a great experience.

    3. Abhik says:

      Sure he is..
Otherwise he won’t be giving away $5490 for free.

  4. Rajnish says:

I think this a great opportunity to get the pass for free, Thank you John I wish I win.

    1. Rajnish says:

Sorry, but I can’t afford the travel and staying charges, but I’m working hard for that.

  5. John, I would like to attend this event!

    1. Rajnish says:

I think you haven’t read the post completely, You have to explain why you should be awarded a Gold Pass to the Affiliate Summit West.

    2. John Chow says:

Many people would like to attend but you should read the rules before making that comment.

      1. Sorry John, is that there is no way to describe it, this would be a unique opportunity.

I thought you would have extra points for sincerity …

        John let the best win!

      2. d3so says:

You should have categories for winners such as best entry, shortest entry, worst entry, and so on.

  6. Abhik says:

Its bad for us who just can’t afford to go there.. 🙁

  7. Darryl Tott says:

On the best affiliate blog by John Chow,
A new post about a competition that made me go ‘WOW!’,
Entitled ‘Win Tickets to the affiliate summit west’ show
I know how much I would benefit and wanted the opportunity to go,
So i comment shouted a poem ending “PICK ME AS THE WINNER JOHN CHOW!”!!!!

    1. Darryl Tott says:

5 Ways to win a John Chow Competition:

      1. Read the competition requirements

Although obvious this simple fact is often overlooked. Despite not initially posting a serious response one of the requirements was to ‘do something extra’. Despite owning several affiliate store sites none would have been relevant to re-post and distribute this competition. In this situation it caused me to think outside the box and post a limerick.

      2. Research previous competitions and winning entries

Having researched all previous competition entries and winners from the related blog posts sections, it became obvious that a limerick poem had not been posted as an entry to date. Therefore placing a limerick in my initial post has set me aside theoretically from the competition. Once I had captured initial attention this allowed me write the mini article as a blog comment as my ‘official’ blog comment entry

      3. Post previous and relevant experience

Although I do not own a blog on making money, I have gained a valuable skill set applicable to creating blog posts in my previous employment. My previous corporate experience was as a retention manager for a large UK mobile network. This exposure to customer analytics and retention in a bullish industry enabled me to freelance as a web retention strategist. It has also allowed me to become proficient at writing direct and relevant content

      4. Have a planned outcome from the event

Currently I am in the process of creating a profit retention blog to share and help others implement the strategies I have created and proven. If I were to win, it would allow me direct exposure to leading bloggers to bounce these ideas off prior to launching my product and to seek endorsements for the product. This theoretically allows exposure to my new website building a buzz prior to launch

      5. Offer an incentive to John’s Blog

As John is kindle offering the chance to attend the event, I believe it only fair to reciprocate the gesture and provide value back to John’s blog. This could come in several formats depending on your specialty
      :
      a. Video Blogging – if you are not confident about the written word, video blogging is a fantastic way in expressing your reaction to the event. It will allow you immediately to record your thoughts and reactions to events

      b. Guest Post – Having been given the opportunity to be exposed to so many fantastic opportunities at Affiliate Summit West. I am sure there will be a plethora of articles that could be written, this event should inspire all of you

      c. Take pictures – John has a great section of pictures on his blog, this provides you the opportunity to take the best photo’s and to gain exposure on John’s site.

      d. Create a unique competition – John recently posted a video ‘Getting Free Stuff at Blog World Expo 2010’. This could be the start of a unique competition between yourself and the other contestants. Example working title ‘What winner could take candy from the summits mouth?’ This will again hopefully allow you secondary exposure on John Chow’s blog as well as making the most of the free pass you have just successfully won

      1. Rajnish says:

You have written a great post in comment, thanks

  8. Kirk Taylor says:

I too won this pass the last time and thought it was the best conference that I had ever attended. I am planning on attending again, and look forward to hooking up with many new great people.

If you have not been to ASW10 find a way to go. Thanks again John!

    1. Kirk Taylor says:

      Sorry, Should have been ASW11!

  9. d3so says:

Here they are, the free passes! Too bad I can’t go because I won’t be 21 til February 🙁
hope all the winners have a great time! 😉

    1. 4myblog says:

bikin ktp palsu donk gan biar cepet 21 hehehe
ayo semangat gan smoga bisa ikutan tuh.

  10. Steve says:

I just entered. Pretty awesome contest as the gold pass isn’t cheap. I’ll have a silver pass for sale if I win.

    1. John Chow says:

If this is your entry, you didn’t win.

      1. Joshua says:

Haha JC owns the trolls. Beware!

      2. d3so says:

haha, straight forward and honest, i LIKE!

      3. Harshad says:

        One result declared. LOL 😀

  11. Kristi says:

    Hi John,

I just saw you in the two panels at Blog World Expo. I’d love to go to the Affiliate West Summit as I am just getting serious about affiliate marketing, having started a site specifically for detailed and better product reviews.

I know I have a lot to learn about making money online – I’d like to take my blogs to the next level, making them into a business that I can hopefully use as my full source of income, and in order to do that, I know I need a lot more education and networking opportunities with the right people, both of which I am sure I could get at the Affiliate Summit.

And I’d definitely go if I win – Vegas is a 4 hour drive from me in Phoenix, and hotels are easy enough to get. So no issues there! 🙂

    ~ Kristi

    1. Hey Kristi,

I really hope you’ll win this. I know that you’d made the best use of the opportunity and since you don’t need to fly there it’ll be so much easier to get there for you than for most people.

You already have as great blog and are doing fantastic job with social media.

John, I give Kristi a huge vote and I hope that you’ll give her a very serious consideration.

I hope that others can vote on this.

      Vance

      1. Kristi says:

Thanks Vance! 🙂 I really appreciate it.

  12. Excellent, my colleagues are already heading to this event, but I’m sure that they could use some extra passes… Will let them know!

  13. That’s a pretty decent prize you’re giving away! I’m dying to go to ASW11, I have been dreaming about going to affiliate summet for 3 years.

I live in the UK, and events like that don’t really happen here.

I have been working as a chef (or should I say burger flipper) for tha past few years while learning about IM in my spare time, it’s been a tough couple of years, but I am determined to make it in IM.

My wife supports me in what I do, but I know she feels like it’s taking forever to get this off the ground. I have my bad days, where I feel like I should just give up and go back to my nowhere job.

But then I think to myself “I’ve come this far, and invested so much time into it, it would be a waste to give up now”. I always come to JohnChow.com for inspiration, and it always lifts me up. Reading John’s blog gives me the hope and courage I need to keep going and believe in myself.

Just seeing what John has achieved reassures me that anything is possible!

I feel I should win, because I believe nobody wants this more than I do. It would mean the world.

  14. Earl says:

You’re very generous with your offer. I’d love to pitch why I should go, but if I do, my wife will kill me. You see we started dating on the Jan 9th (so that’s a special day for us) and her Birthday is on the 10th, so obviously she’d shoot me if we went… but she does love Vegas… it’s tougher to really enjoy all Vegas has to offer with kids in tow though – I always do a lot of walking, and having to heft a stroller that far sounds like I’d lose some serious weight (… which could be a good thing). Best of luck to all of you that vie for the positions!

  15. Pierre Z. says:

Hey John…we met at Murray’s event and also at BlogWorld…hope you remember me. I think I told you that we own a few blogs. I would be willing to promote your blog in our blogs if you give me a pass…can probably give you 5-10 write ups in different blogs. Email me for more details and list of the blogs.

  16. Donny Gamble says:

Another great contest by John Chow. I think I should win the gold pass because I am an up and coming blogger that will definitely be on the seen within the next couple of years.

  17. Lori Falcon says:

When I first started blogging in 07′, I looked to you John and Darren, Yaro, and so on to teach me what I didn’t know, which was everything. I didn’t even know what a blog was at the time. I did great with affiliate marketing but found myself going in unethical directions and quickly changed my direction to “mom blogging”. Three years later, I am a successful mom blogger but I find myself craving more and wanting to go back to my old roots, which is affiliate marketing, but in an ethical manner.

I know I have what it takes to dominate and be successful and with the creation of my new community, I want to learn how to expand on that to earn even more revenue and accumulate more traffic, more members, and inspire others.

While at Blogworld this year, I was reminded of that passion and had some amazing conversations with some of the biggest names out there. I belong right there with them and the affiliate pass would give me an inside boost to that success. Whether or not I win a pass, I’ll be seeing you around Mr. Chow;)

This looks like a great contest, good luck to everyone who is entering.

  20. Robert says:

Hello John. I really like this competition.

So, this year im exchange student in USA, and i pay these thing all with my self, more than 10K..

I worked in my country like a Affiliate Marketer for a 2-3 years, since i was 14 years old.

Latest month before i come in USA, i make huge money more than in CPA industry, and i really now how much affiliate marketing changed my life.

I really like to go in Affiliate Summit in January, i like to meet the people that i read everyday and to talk with them.I like also to know more things from Affiliate Marketing.I know that this is a good chance.

    Thank u

    1. Abhik says:

      Hope you win the pass..
Which country you are originally from btw?

  21. I am going to have a major scheduling conflict, so I can’t enter the contest, so disregard this comment as far as the contest goes, but it’s nice of you to do the contest for your readers.

  22. Syed Balkhi says:

    John,

I would love to win a pass. I think I should win the pass because I am Syed Balkhi (This worked at Blog World Expo Hall, but not sure if it will work with you), so here is the real reason.

Affiliate Summit is one of the most touted conference for affiliate marketers, and I have never been to it. I went to Blog World Expo, and I made quite great friends and hung out with my previous friends as well. You know how it goes with us marketers.

While I understand the material in sessions will be great, I value the networking more, and I think Affiliate Summit will have the right people I want to network with.

I would be glad to win a pass, and furthermore if I win, I will wear John Chow Dot Com shirt (one whole day) granted that you send a shirt as well 😉

  23. who is john ? hah ,well it sound a very interesting event , i’ll be there soon and meet you john !! 🙂 🙂

  24. Scott says:

    Top 5 reasons I should win a pass…

    1. I applied for the first time this year to be a speaker at ASW11 and was not accepted. The crushing disappointment and blow to my ego would be partially mended with a free ticket. 😉

    2. I would have to incur no travel fee, since I’m going to be in Las Vegas anyway, just a couple of days before ASW11. Getting a free ticket would be a perfect reason to extend my stay.

    3. I’ve only been to an Affiliate Summit once, West in 2008, and I also took someone else to the show, paying both of our entry fees for platinum passes AFTER the early bird discounts had expired. The outrageous total due to my procrastination was over $2300 at the time, and getting a free ticket for this one would offset some of that spending.

4, Nearly half of my income is generated through affiliate marketing, but I’ve been stuck there for nearly three years. My goal is to really ramp up on affiliate stuff, and winning a ticket could help me through the knowledge I’d gain by attending sessions.

    5. I’d really like to meet you. I missed an opportunity by not attending this years Think Tank, and this would be another shot at it.

    Bonus Reason – #6 –
Because I was too stupid to pay attention to the October 15th deadline, and have now missed the early discount again!

  25. JOHN!

Let me see. Where should I start. I am the Marketing Director for Chrome Battery. We are just starting out and are super excited. We go live on November 1st, 2010 and are nervous and anxious to see if all of our SEO efforts have been worth it. 😉

I am also a single mother to a brilliant 6 year old boy and a full-time student at IUPUI here in Indiana. With my busy schedule, it’s almost impossible for me to be able to attend any type of conference for work. The Affiliate Summit is the only conference that I would be able to attend.

Since we are just starting out, and just recently heard about ASW, I was bummed to find that the prices were more than doubled just a few days before I learned about it when I got on the website to research the pricing. Alas, I am disappointed because I tend to put my all into what I do.

I was just put in charge of managing the affiliate program and I am utterly lost. This conference was going to be my savior. I desperately need to get to this conference! I have a personal blog on Blogspot and I hope to write something on it about this whole experience as well.

  26. Anyone with the nerve to drag you around an expo hall and then ask you “who are you?” and follow it with, “OMG, YOU ARE JOHN CHOW, Did you know you were John Chow?” definitely deserves a ticket to Affiliate Summit West, right?

    1. d3so says:

No, lol. Irrelevant comment entry, I must say.

  27. Ray says:

    Hi John,

Ray here, long time, no see. I attended quite a few dotcom phos in early 2008. Matter of fact, I was part of the highest attended dotcompho when Yaro Starak hit town but at that time, I wasn’t ready for prime time affiliate marketing.

Now having won a contest at the recently completed Canada Marketing Summit, I think I’m ready for the next step in affiliate marketing. I would love to do some more networking and continue my contest winning streak.

Here’s why I want to ‘wynn’ this contest – I was thinking of signing up for the $99 Affiliate Summit silver pass last week but I procrastinated and missed the deadline. There’ll be NO problems with hotel and flight as I’ll be in Las Vegas Jan 6-9 for CES anyways and can extend my stay. Also, despite many trips to Vegas, I’ve never been to the Wynn.

I can promote your blog with the usual twitter thing. I also have 2 Flips and I can record everything happening in Vegas, ensuring nothing stays in Vegas. I have shot a lot of videos and I may even have incriminating video of you and a certain panda. So you see, I’m going all out to be a Gold Pass ‘wynner’.

  28. I wrote about you …twice…that should count for something too eh?
Who Are you Anyway? Oh You’re John Chow, OOPS!

    http://www.momecentric.com/2010/jar/who-are-you-anyway-oh-youre-john-chow-oops

  29. purposeinc says:

I would like to win because I am a John Chow wanna be. I promise to speak with a John Chow Canadian Chinese accent for at least part of Affiliate Summit, ehh? I will take John Chow to Red8 for Dim Sum. I will also wear the exact same outfit as John Chow if he lets me know in advance what it is going to be. I will also invite him as a special guest to the Mega Bomb Diggity poker tournament I will be having during Affiliate Summit.

  30. Sid Savara says:

    Hey John!

You should bring me because while I am not as tall as you, I am 5’11 so you would still tower over me, but not have to hunch down when people take pictures

Also, I think I was one of the few people who actually asked serious questions at your 60 questions in 60 minutes panel – I am making a solid effort to make money with my website, and already have a 60 day autoresponder modeled after your talk you gave about capturing the lead, following up, teaching so people buy etc

Just sayin – I am no John Chow, but I hustle =)

    1. Kristi says:

Funny, I thought of a great question after I left the panel. I put in my suggestions for the next conference that any panel that is based on attendee questions is marked as such so we can have time to plan out good questions.

BTW, not one needs to hunch down with me, even if I am only 5’7″. 🙂

  31. Hi John – greetings from Ireland,

I am very new to Affiliate Marketing – but quickly realised it’s potential, thanks to people like yourself.

As an over 50’s person, with little value in the current job market in Ireland, I was finding it difficult to choose a “new career”. Then hey presto – Affiliate Marketing.

I run a free online business start up/business plan tutorial to help so many other people at a crossroads in their lives, also for young people who have no business acumen. Affiliate Marketing enables me to continue to do this on a free basis while building a much needed income for myself. So I get to to do what I love most – empower others to achieve their dreams – all done on free resource. I have put a year into researching great free resource options and my followers can just click on my recommendations and save time, energy and money- while at the same time launching their business quickly. I love what I do but would just like to be better at it.

This pass would mean the world to me and of course to all of those that I can share my expertise with. I really believe that in giving we receive…..time for me to receive!

    Thank you.

    Geraldine

  32. Kaushal Shah says:

I’m currently a struggling, yet striving teen (17 yr old) entrepreneur and would love for this opportunity to help expand my skills in the marketing area.

Due to lack of funding and the stress of being a student, it’s often difficult for me to take advantage of such conferences, however, with such aid, it would be more than an opportunity of a lifetime.

Hope to be there in Las Vegas!

  33. Sid Savara says:

    Hey John!

Not sure if my previous comment went through or got marked as spam!

The short version is – take me because we’ll look good in pictures together, and I’ll hustle to actually *use* what I learn from the pass. Which means that’ll make you look good for bringing me – and make affiliate summit look good, because there’s no better publicity than someone taking what they learned at a conference and being successful with it right?

    =)

  34. Hi John, I need this pass, just because i am into affiliate marketing, experimenting new things, learning from my mistakes, noting down whats works.

I think its a good chance for people like me to be there and nourish knowledge about affiliate marketing.

I keep my fingers cross for this,

on my Knee, Jesus I need this one.

  35. rufinus says:

    Great contest by John Chow.
I would have entered this contest, but unfortunately, live very far from America.
    But, thanks JC.

  36. Kim LaFleur says:

Never been to the Affiliate Summit! A ‘Meet Market’ sounds like the perfect place to engage and socialize ideas. Pick me! Ooh ooh—pick me!

  37. Hello John,

I stopped by to read this New Post of yours. As usual
another Great Post on your Blog.I will be looking forward
to more of your kindness to others as you have shown in
the past.I hope someone wins this that will make good
    use of this opportunity.

    good luck 4 everyone!!

  39. Curtez says:

    John

I was shocked to see this contest (in all 3 of my in-boxes) as I had just finalized my reservations for this trip. I recently purchased a Silver pass and failed to realize that I will only be able to attend certain events, and that’s not what I need to continue my growth as an Internet Marketer. This will be must first attendance at any trade show, so I’m hoping to absorb as much information as possible.

John, by day I’m an Active Duty Service Member in the US Army. I started my internet venture in early 2010. Through self development, and your blog I have been able to establish a shaky foundation, which has allowed me to consistently generate revenue from a variety of sources online. I operate a small CPA network that exclusively promotes offers relevant to Service Members. Despite the fact that military specific offers are few and far between, I manage to constantly tweak my results and continue to make a decent living online. As a result of my venture if everything continues I plan on leaving the Army after 13 years of service.

Now why I feel I would like to win a gold pass. To be as frank as possible it’s not the pass I need! What I need is an opportunity to get exposure to be able to socialize with some of the biggest brains in the industry. I have a undeveloped niche, multiple insider sources, and a highly targeted list. What I lack is experience and a detailed understanding of how to take my idea and scale it. So in case you haven’t noticed… My niche is the Military. There’s over 2 million Service Members and I have a plan to reach them. With your help I could be able to convert a heck of a lot more of them….
So I’ll take the time this am to send this contest to my subscribers, and I wish you all the best.

    Thanks

    Curtez

  40. larry dennis says:

    John, thanks for the offer.

I’d like to attend the event so that I can meet face to face potential affiliate networks that would allow me to distribute my products online.

I wont give you a sob story, I market online to make money. The better I become, the less I will have to make pitches on sites like yours, even though you freely give solid information.

Don’t get me wrong I do give back, but for now it’s with time in my community not with cash. So if I am able to go, I expect to learn, attend numerous break out groups and meet some people that can leverage what I have already started.

Thanks for your consideration. I live in Los Angeles and would drive down.

  41. Brett Burky says:

I would love to get a gold pass and here are my reasons why:

    1. For affiliate summit east I had it booked and then at the last minute had to not attend.
    2. My business partner is speaking on a panel with you and I would love to be able to attend and see it.
    3. I still have a lot of questions about certain things and I want to find those answers at the sessions.
    4. I love being VIP.

    Thanks John

  42. Rob Merlino says:

    John-

I have been following your blog since you started your Making Money with a Blog series in October, 2006. I may not be the most active participant in your “community,” but I have learned a lot from your site and gone on to quietly live the Dot Com Lifestyle while, more publicly, living The Hot Dog Lifestyle!

When I started my first blog, I just wanted a way to publicize my hot dog truck. It was a rough winter and I ended up not opening. With all the extra time, I learned ways to make extra money with blogs-you were my first and best teacher.

I have bought cars, paid for kids’ braces, gone on vacation and just plain old “paid the bills” with the money I have made from my blogs. I owe a lot of that success to your advice.

Now that I have the mechanics of making money with a blog in place, I am spending some of my earnings on developing a presence in more popular niches-this should lead to an enhanced Dot Com Lifestyle!

None of the things I have accomplished could have been done without John Chow dot com. Your advice was well organized, easy to read and seemed doable. With all the “hype” out there about making money online, your voice was a beacon of reason and reality.

While I’d LOVE to go to the Affiliate Summit West for the learning experience alone, I’d much rather go to look you in the eye, shake your hand, and say “Thank You.”

    Thanks.

I would love to win this pass for several reasons. First, being an internet marketer/blogger I don’t get to interact with people like me very much. I’m sure the conference will be filled with people who do what I do, and I’ll be able to meet many of them, discuss strategy, goals, etc. I’m sure this will leave me re-energized for my own efforts when I return home. Second, my wife and I are expecting another child in March, so it would be ideal to travel in early January before things get crazy around our house (one last trip if you will). Also, I love Shawn’s affiliate tips blog and would love to experience a full conference. Thanks for the opportunity.

Cant wait to go to vagas.
    Thanks John.

    Hi John,
Saw you speak at Blogworld on the Monetization super panel, great panel, great info. It’s a real inspiration to see the people in the industry that you look up to in person. (I showed up a little late too ; )

I encourage anyone who possibly can to make it to a convention, to do it sooner than later. Valuable information and the networking opportunities are unmatched.

I was definitely planning on attending Affiliate Summit, I live in Phoenix, AZ so attending isn’t an issue, but Blogworld drained my finances. Good thing the parties had open bar!

I missed out on the discounted price for AS 2011 so there is no way I’m going to be able to attend if I have to pay the cost of the ticket. It’s been killing me that I was going to miss this.

John…I need to attend this! Being fairly new to the game, the value I got from Blogworld gave me a huge jumpstart but I NEED to learn affiliate marketing in a big way.

I didn’t get a chance to speak with you at Blogworld so here’s my second chance. Attending Affiliate Summit and a a VIP party with you, couldn’t ask for more. You would be making a great choice John to pick me.

    Regards,
    Jose

    Hi John –

I am new to your site and just recently signed up for your newsletter.

I will make this brief as I am still quite new to this, but I am a single father raising a teenage son by myself and it is hard to make ends meet, even despite my good job at a respectable law firm.

I would like to learn as much as possible about this subject and try to apply as much as possible with what I am learning so far from your site.

It could make for a great success story.

I understand there may be many others who could apply some of this knoweldge more quickly than I, but thank you for offering this opportunity to us.

    Kind Regards,
    -Brian

  47. Matthew says:

    Hi John –

Going to the Affiliate Summit would be a very personal triumph for me. I started affiliate marketing about 4 years ago but really only got serious about 2 years ago. During that time I’ve had to put my young father (64) in a nursing home for Alzheimers, my wife got laid off due to the recession, we lost our house all the while trying to keep learning “this stuff” because something told me to keep perservering. I diversified my business and started captializing on SEO for local businesses. Got my first client in Kansas City, and now the top Chiropractor and Therapist in Chicago. I’ve also been able to finally figure out an affiliate system. Now, I’m not making “millions” – yet. But througout all of the downs in my life, internet marketing is the one thing that promises me the freedom and life I want for myself and my family. I have two small children and I dream of passing down my business to them. I have never been able to afford to go to an affiliate conference though it is on my radar in the near future. Going to the affiliate conference would give me more confidence in myself and my business and to meet the gurus that I only read about would be awesome! Thanks for having such a contest!

    Regards,

    Matthew

    Hi John,
I think you should pick me because

    1) I haven’t been to the show before
    2) I am not a newbie so the conference would add real value to my business
    3) I am a fun person so I would not be shy or boring (it’s Vegas after all)
    4) I have a lot of online marketing experience so we could talk about interesting relevant topics
    5) I would blog about the event with pictures and video
    6) I could pay my own way for other expenses since my business is pretty successful
    7) I am confident – Unlike all the other responses, I am confident that I am the best person for the ticket.

    Thanks

    Onuora

    Hi John,

I’ve recently realized the HUGE value in going to these conferences. I plan on going to all the affiliate summits in the future, as well as some ad-tech conferences and possibly pubcon as well.

Main reason I’d be a good candidate is that I am definitely going. There are no maybes here, I’m not going to try to transfer or sell the pass if I win.

I will use it and use it to the fullest.

    Thanks,

    Sanez

    Hey John

    What an amazing prize!

I a UK based marketer and after a few years of “ups and downs” and “Google Slaps” along the way, this has been my year of reckoning.

Thanks to some sound advice from people like yourself, Shoemoney and Chris Farrel I have come to realise that to succeed in the transparent online world you need to build relationships and be ethical. It’s been a fantastic journey and I am finally building a solid & sustainable business for the long term.

The fruits of my labour have started to show with a recent invitaion to speak at London’s A4U Expo and a WebUser.co.uk award for my main website I know I’m moving in the right direction but I still have a long way to go and a lot more to learn.

I enjoy networking in the UK and have built some amazing relationships over the years, but I find myself working more and more with networks and merchants from “acoss the pond” so I would relish the opportunity to hook up with some like minded folk in Vegas next January.

If I’m lucky enough to get a ticket then I guarantee I will get maximum value from it as I continue my journey in 2011 and share my knowledge with the people I meet along the way.

Good luck to all and may the best man or woman win!

    All the best

    Nick

  52. Hey John, I love to get a pass to that super event. Reasons why I should win:
    1. I’ve been a regular visitor to your blog and your fan for more than 4 years now.
    2. I started my blog and it will benefit from the knowledge and ideas of that event.
    3. I am pro photographer and if you wish could take tons of cool pictures of you or the event while you are here and give those to you AT NO CHARGE for you to post on the blog or personal use.
    4. I don’t have to pay airfare or hotel because I live here. With that said I WON’T MISS THE EVENT, so your ticket will be use without excuse of missing the plane or blah blah blah… 🙂
5.I have a daughter (something in common with you) that would love his dad to be successful in blogging so he can spend more time with her – btw great video “The Dot Com Lifestyle”.
    6. Another cool reason (not bribing you here, evil smile) I have tons of contacts here in Vegas so in case you want to visit a cool place here let me know and I get access for you.
With that said, What do you think?

  53. Michael H says:

    Hi John,

I would really appreciate a pass to Affiliate Summit West 2011.

I believe ASW is the premier event to obtain knowledge and contacts which will benefit my affiliate marketing career.

Last year, I got to attend for the first time. But I had to leave the very first night because someone broke in and burglarized my house! Needless to say, I missed out on a lot at the conference.

I am hoping to get another chance at attending in 2011. Hopefully, with your help, I can have a happy and rewarding experience this time.

I will also spread the word about John Chow’s generosity in my blog.

    Best to You!

  54. Bruce Clancy says:

    John,

I should be living on retirement income now, but instead of selling my manufacturing business, I had to close it. Thank goodness I was able to sell on eBay and open a web store so I can pay my bills. I love internet marketing, and after two years feel I know enough to do well, but selling physical products is very limiting.

My Grandkids all live in LA, and I want to spend a lot more time with them. I have chosen affiliate marketing as my next career since I will have the freedom to work from anywhere. I have set up several sites to sell Clickbank products and just did a site for a CPA offer, but have made very little money so far.

If I could attend Affiliate Summit, I am sure I would learn a lot that would help me jump start this endeavor. I also need to meet and talk with people in this business. All I know is what I have learned on the web and from ebook courses.

I really want to go to Affiliate Summit and cannot afford the entry fee, however since I live in Reno, the flight is cheap and Vegas has a lot of hotel bargains so I could afford the travel.

I am very willing to give back what I have learned and would be happy to blog or video my progress after attending the Summit and share it with your readers. John, I really appreciate what you do to help others and am anxious to get back in a position to do the same.

    Many thanks,

    Bruce

  55. Hello Mr. Chow,

I appreciate you presenting this offer to myself and others. I would like to take this moment to explain to you why I feel I am a deserving recipricant of a free pass to the Affiliate Summit.

As a 17 year member of the US Air Force, I am approaching the end of my career. For this reason, I began researching other potential means of income. Blogging was one realm that peaked my interest.

I have been a reader of yours for quite a while. It took a long time to grow past the speculation that blogging for money was a truly profitable avenue in todays world. Reading the work of yourself, Yaro Stark, Ian Fernando, and many others, I have overcome those doubts and would like to put into play many of the lessons I have learned.

I do not have a plan, path or site. I have only just begun on my journey and wish to use my fresh start for my benefit, rather than as a crutch. In order to do this, the only part of my plan that I do have is to show the world how (through the creative use of documentation, blogging, and video) a person can go from zero to thousands, with the right mix of blogging and the numerous marketing styles. I plan to chart, blog and video tape everything so that I may pass on every crucial step that a person would need to know to begin their own journey!

It would be an honor to shadow you and learn first hand from a person who has managed to come as far as yourself. I would use this opportunity to expand on my knowledge of blogging for money, as well as to pass on to the rest of the blogging-hopeful’s all the helpful insight, tips and tricks that I learn.

As for the Summit, I must confess I know very little of what it is or its potential. I will be doing reading and research to explore the benefits of such an event. I am sure that to completely understand its full potential and benefit, attendance would be the only true indicator.

Finally, the value this will have for yourself would be in the increased advertisement and spread of the John Chow name, through the potential bloggers who would come to my site in an effort to learn what I have learned. I would definitely have to credit much of my knowledge on your teachings and blog’s, and as a result, my visitors would ultimately become your visitors!

Thank you again, sir, for taking the time to offer this opportunity, as well for taking the time read my entry.

    Joseph

**On a side note, and not to be taken as part of my ‘entry’, I want to take a second to let you know that one of my greatest inspirations came from a video you posted some time ago. You were walking with you daughter. It was during the day. The reason this was an inspiration is because family is very important to me and I would love to have the job that offers the freedom for me to enjoy my family time as you were with your daughter. That single video spoke volumes as to the potential of blogging for money. Thank you

  56. Hey!
I would like one of the passes –

1: I already run a successful IM business and am looking to push it into the next level.
2: I want to network as much as possible from now on, so far it has brought me nothing but success.
3: I have been in IM for almost 2 years now so I have experience.
4: No worries about trying to sell/transfer the ticket, I am 1000% going.
5: We get to meet eachother.

Hope to hear from you! If not about the ticket, maybe about business.

    Thanks!

  57. Farukh says:

I’ve been in the online advertising industry working for agencies for quite some time now, and I can’t emphasize how important it is to go to conferences such as the Affiliate Summit, SMX, SES, Pubcon, etc. I have meet a lot of cool people such as Rand Fishkin, Shoemoney, Danny Sullivan, Shawn Collins, DK, Andy Jenkins, etc… as well as lot of unknowns who sometimes baffle you with their creativity in using some of these marketing mediums. That said, I think this is an awesome opportunity for everyone, so thanks John for making this happen.

Now about me…. I’ve had my own advertising agency for about a couple years now, and have been swamped in growing that piece of my business, along with a few other ventures. I haven’t had a chance to take off and go to conferences as I used to for the past couple years. Couple of the main reasons for not doing so is time and money (have to keep the expenses in line when you are an entrepreneur).

That said, I just recently got back from Jeff Walkers Product Launch Formula event, and the people I met during that event truly blew my mind. It was a great reminder of why I should make an effort to get to conferences within my Industry, and meet like-minded individuals that can take your business to the next level (ideas, inspiration, mentorship, partnerships, etc). I still feel that I’m missing some key people from creating the perfect circle, and this opportunity may help with that.

So in conclusion why pick me? I wasn’t planning on going since I’ve reached my budget for info products/conferences/travel, but if majority of the costs are being covered (aka conf pass) then my arm can be twisted :), and it definitely makes that decision a no-brainer. Besides I’d love to meet you and hang out with you even for a little bit in Vegas.

  58. Hi Mr. John Chow,

I strongly know that you handing me over a Gold Pass to 2011 Affiliate Summit, will be a TRUE INVESTMENT into our industry…as I am always growing and seeking ways to give back to the industry that gave so much to me.

I also know that by you giving the Gold Pass to me, will not be a waste but rather a investment of your generosity.

In the past while I was in the Home Based Business Industry, I gave a lot away to people who never maximized the gift to it’s totality. This won’t be the case here. As I see no other option but to SUCCEED and GIVE BACK to our industry.

    Thank-you!
    Antonio

  59. Rossmore says:

Chow Baby! Hi John! Listen I live in Las Vegas and I would love to come down(15 min away) and meet you and rub shoulders with some successful affiliate marketers. I have picked this up pretty quickly, my sites are in development right now, so anything I could pick up to get to the next level, and maybe partnering with you in the near future would be awesome. I look forward to hanging with you. Just show me some love! Ciao Chow!

  60. Hi John — I truly hope you’ll consider my entry for Affiliate Summit West 2011 as a winner for one of the Gold Passes.

First of all I’ve been a loyal John chow reader for well over 2 years, and I’d like to thank and credit you for guiding a lot of the progress I’ve made in blogging and internet marketing. Like me, you’ve risen from humble beginnings and have had to figure things out on your own.

Most of your blog posts are very helpful to anyone who takes making money online seriously. I’ve greatly benefited from tips and shortcuts you’ve shared on blog optimization and monetization. Your incredible video post of your talk to the Vancouver Business Society breaking down your back-end system has got to be the absolute best rundown of a blog business model (http://www.johnchow.com/presenting-at-the-vancouver-business-network/).

Then there’s your book “Make Money Online.” Anyone who is reading this comment should seriously go out and buy it right now. I read without distraction it on the plane to China last May and loved it. Unfortunately the raving review I wrote for it on my blog did not make me lucky enough to win that iPad you were giving away!

Oh I almost forgot to declare why I deserve to go to Affiliate Summit courtesy of your Gold Pass! The reason why is I’m truly ready to go. I’m hungry to succeed. I’m no longer afraid to step out of the shadows, put my best foot forward and make some new friends and network in the IM space.

I’ll be going to Mike Filsaime’s Affiliate DotCom event next month (I’m taking his course and making serious progress!), which will be my first IM event ever. Affiliate West is perfect timing in January because by that time I know I’ll be itching to go back and meet more awesome people — you included!

So anyway — please strongly consider me. I think it’s about time we meet, anyway. I already feel like I know a lot about you, especially your love of superior food and drink.

Wow! That was a lot of writing. I could have used it on my blog–I’ve been posting 5 days a week–but no problem. Maybe this entry is a winner…?

    DotCom lifestyle baby!

    1. …and if anyone wants to read my review of Make Money Online, here it is: http://wordful.com/make-money-online-by-john-chow-book-review/

I would like to win the Gold Ticket John because I will be tweeting about my trip at Affiliate Summit every day there and always putting a JohnChow.com at the end of my tweets and Foursquare checkins. 🙂

I will also make a blog post about JohnChow.com and Affiliate Summit. I will make this one of my first blog post for the new TweetFind.com blog!

  62. Hugh Kimura says:

There are three reasons why I think I should win a ticket. I would like to express my thoughts in a video…Yo! MTV Raps style: http://bit.ly/aUtHNc

    Hi John,
Instead of just twittering your blog like I said in my earlier comment, I am in the process of blasting your recent Clicksor offer post to 16 bookmarking sites.

I just want to add that last year when I was at CES on the last day, I bumped into some people with badges and bags from Affiliate Summit and I was thinking I would like to join them someday. I’m hoping I get that chance this coming January. Thanks.

  64. Dan Bucklew says:

    John,
Thanks for offering this opportunity to your readers. I’ve been doing IM part time for the last couple of years with decent success. Unfortunately, I work about 60 hours a week at my primary job which limits the amount of time I have to spend building campaigns. ASW will give me a chance to learn from some of the greatest minds in IM and ultimately turn my part time income into a full time lifestyle. I was looking through the list of speakers a couple days ago and I don’t know how someone could attend without changing their lives. I’m not asking for a ticket to help myself, I’m asking for a ticket to change things for my family. I don’t want to be at a 60 hour job, I want to be able to go to my kids soccer games, go to ballet recitals, or any other activity they are involved in.

    Thanks again!

  65. Dan Bucklew says:

    John,

I had an error with my browser so hopefully I don’t end up with a double post. First I’d like to thank you for giving this opportunity to your readers. I know ASW has changed the lives of many people. That being said, here is why you should pick me to win the gold pass for ASW11.

I’ve been doing IM part time for the past couple of years. Unfortunately, my work schedule at my primary job along with family life prevents me from putting enough time into my marketing efforts to make it a full time career. I’ve had 3 days off in the last 6 weeks and worked 60 plus hours each week. Now some people may think I’m complaining about working. On the contrary, I’m more upset at not being able to spend more time with my family. I want to be the Dad that makes it to soccer games, ballet recitals, and plays. I want to take my kids to Disney World and I believe IM will allow me that opportunity. I have seen the testimonials after people attended their first ASW and see how much it changed their lives. I want to be one of those people. I want to learn new methods to promote offers. I want to meet Affiliate Managers and pick their brains. I want to meet Guru’s like yourself and learn your work habits so I can apply them to my own life. If I win one of the passes you are giving away, it will not go to waste and hopefully I can pay it forward one day.

    Thanks again John.

  66. Why I want a free pass to ASW:

I am currently a full time internet marketer / entrepreneur that focuses primarily on organic SEO traffic. I know that paid traffic is one of those segments that I could use to really expand my business in new ways and that’s the primary reason why I want to go ASW.

I’ve been doing a lot of my own products lately both inside the internet marketing niche and several more outside that niche – so I want to meet up with other affiliates that are good at driving traffic via PPC to see how I can promote my products.

The only way I’ll go to Affiliate Summit West is if I get a free pass because I’ve already attended SMX Advanced in Seattle and Blog World Expo in Vegas earlier this year. I’ve set a new rule for myself recently where I’ll only attend events when I can get free passes because although I can afford to pay for the passes I hate to spend money when I know I can get something free.

In fact, I’d like to find a way to get every single aspect of my conference paid for. This is the first step…

Bonus Incentive: I live in Seattle like you do as well John so if you don’t pick me I’ll drive my Segway down your ridiculously long drive way and play pranks on you until you have another free pass giveaway. 😀

    1. Hey John,

Turns out the press pass I applied for long ago finally came through. I checked out your blog and it looks like you haven’t given the passes away yet so feel free to exclude me from the running.

I’ll see you in Vegas or at another Dot Com Pho meet up.

      Thanks again,

Hide yo kidz, hide yo wife and hide yo husband cuz I’m winning this Gold Pass!

  68. Hi John,

I just Tweeted and Blogged about it…

I’d love to go to Affiliate Summit in January, since I’m trying to make the transition from pure SEO to affiliate marketing and leveraging my IM skills to profit from my own websites.

I left my job back in January and I’m trying to make ends meet for my family (wife and 4 kids) while I get my own IM business going.

I feel like Aff Summit would provide a good accelerating boost of knowledge and networking to help me push my business over the edge to where it needs to be.

Thanks for the opportunity and consideration!

    Best regards,

    AP

  69. Hi John,

I am a UK-based Affiliate Marketer looking to expand my horizons, and I decided it was time to take things to the next level and start to meet some power players in the Affiliate world.

Affiliate Summit 2011 seems to be the perfect way to start the year and I hope to achieve two goals during my visit:

    1) Learn new techniques that I can bring back to London and apply to my business model here

    2) Develop strategic partnerships that I can not only leverage my North American traffic, but European and worldwide also.

The internet may be the global conduit through which we do business, however local cultures still prevail and I would gladly trade some of my knowledge of the British landscape for gaining insight from you on North America. There is plenty of money to be made on both sides of The Pond!

It is for these reasons I would like to be considered for one of your ten Golden Tickets.

Good luck to all who have entered.

    – Geoff

  70. Hello John,

First, “Thank you” very, very much for offering this opportunity to us. I did not even know about Affiliate Summit until I received your email about this contest. This would be an incredible opportunity for me as I’m working on building a strong affiliate program in my business. We just finished our last big project for a client and November is when I will start my affiliate work. After this, I will be on ClickBank looking for a niche to write an eBook about. If you award me one of the Gold passes, I will have no problem getting to Vegas and booking my room. My background so far has been in e-commerce.

I did not think that there were any “honest” affiliates out there. It seemed that the new launches every week contained “too good to be true” promises. I admit, I purchased a few and was sorely disappointed. Then, on April 15, 2010, something amazing happened. I ran across your free eBook, “Make Money Online”. I could not believe it was FREE! You gave me more honest, actionable information in that one FREE eBook than I’ve ever received from all of the other programs I had purchased. Eight days later, I saw your book, “Make Money Online: Roadmap of A Dot Com Mogul” on Amazon. Wanted to download it to me new iPad but it wasn’t available then.

I would like one of the Gold passes because I believe I will give you your best Return On Investment. You are investing in the 10 passes to see what we can do. I’ve already purchased many of your suggestions (Squeeze Theme and Plugin, ShoeMoney System 2.0, Aweber) through your affiliate links. You are going to write a review for me when I finish my site from the ShoeMoney System.

I’m going to live the Dot Com lifestyle. You’ve laid out the roadmap and I am following it. I will be a huge affiliate marketer in the near future and I will never forget that you gave me my start long before ASW but ASW will be the blast that puts my efforts in orbit. Affiliate Summit West will give me the chance to network with others and allow me to raise my game to a level I would never reach networking here in Cordova, TN. Now that you know why I would like the pass, I believe that if I am awarded one, you are believing in me enough to give me a chance in the City of Chance.

To show what a great investment I am and to prove you will not be wasting a pass on me, I’ve already selected the sessions I’m going to attend: Meet Market, Dominating Your Niche With Blogger Outreach (your session), Making Money With Affiliate Programs for Beginners, Local Lead Generation and Facebook Open Graph – Beyond the Like Button. I will get to work immediately on what I learn from these sessions.

Most of all, I’m looking forward to the party where I can hopefully meet you in person, tell you “Thank You” for all of the wisdom you’ve passed on, shake your hand and get our picture together. I want to put this picture on my desk as a motivator and inspiration. Your advice has shown me that I can make it in affiliate marketing without scheming people.

If John Chow, with all of the knowledge and wisdom that he has amassed, deemed me worthy of a Gold pass, then I know that success is guaranteed as long as I DO IT! Please award me the Gold Pass to Affiliate Summit West and I promise to make you proud!!!

Good Luck to All Of The Entrants!

    — Joseph

  71. Amazing ideas are WORTH $0.00 until executed.

A halfway decent idea well executed can be worth millions.

My goal is to empower the world through technology and understanding how to structure, promote and grow an affiliate network for my training program is why John Chow should pick me to attend the 2011 Affiliate Summit West.

What smells of SOUR BALONEY? My lack of skills when it comes to marketing and using my vast network of well connected people to develop my business through an affiliate network.

I live in San Francisco and have the means to attend the conference.

John Chow knows how to sell, how to promote and how to engage his readers to take action. I want to attend the affiliate summit so I can see John’s session on blogger outreach and have the opportunity to get practice time in wheeling and dealing with people who cut deals everyday.

I’m a fast learner and can figure out the rules if I watch the game.

John awarded me an amazing opportunity last year to attend Blogworld in which I gave out 500 free hugs. It helped me overcome a huge hurdle of approaching people I didn’t know so now conferences are more fruitful for me!

I currently use e-junkie and eventbrite’s affiliate programs. The most I’ve generated as an affiliate is $2,300 from eventbrite ticket sales from 2009-2010.

And most importantly I don’t want to be called a “prima donna” again!!! ☛ http://www.johnchow.com/dot-com-pho-nandos-chicken-edition/

I wont be missing this event if I win a gold pass! Hey, I’ll even bring some chicken! 😀

And I promise to ‘juggle balls’ in front of all your readers! :p Who wouldn’t wanna see that?!?! Right, JC readers?!

Pick me. Pick me. Pick me.

  73. Harshad says:

Pretty good entries this time. I am sure John will have tough time picking up the winners.

  74. well, of course i want to win this ticket to vegas, baby. who wouldn’t. to learn how the big wigs become great is a worthy use of my time. i have learnt a lot from following the john chow lead and this will be just an acceleration of my trajectory of success.
also i miss john’s pho lunches in vancouver and it will be sweet to just hang out with the characters that will be at this meeting of internet minds.
please pick me because i am really looking forward to getting out of rainy/snowy vancouver in january and being someplace warmer than our winter weather, though i will be in ski mode by that time too. el nino is coming!!!
hi john, say hello to sarah and sally for me…wishing you wellness.

    Dear John,

I have been a loyal reader of your blog right from the viral hi tech urinal post to what I felt I learnt the most out of “how to really make money with clickbank”.

I have started working diligently on my websites with guidance from various online sources. While I know there is no dearth of information available on the internet, nothing can beat those 3 days at the Affiliate Summit West 2011. It will be an amazing opportunity to meet and network with the best in the industry. With the gold pass, I will have access to videos of the remaining conferences, which I know will teach me a lot. It does not get any better than that. I know I will make the best use of this pass.

  76. Who won? I checked since Saturday and nothing posted.

  77. Yes, I’m also curious to see who the lucky winners are

  78. Phil Dawson says:
