Win a Waterman Pen From 1234Pens.com

written by John Chow on February 7, 2008

How to make $593 in less than one hour

waterman.jpg

The promotional pens maker 1234pens.com sent over a really nice pen from Waterman, one of the best pen makers in the world. This pen retails for $80 and comes in a nice presentation box.

I tested it out by using the pen to sign a few checks and it writes really well. I can see using the pen to sign important documents and contracts. However, I can also see giving the pen away to a deserving reader.

How To Enter

If you would like a shot at winning a fine writing pen, then just make a blog post about it. Please say the pen came from 1234pens.com and it’ll be nice if you can link to them using promotional pens or something along that line. Here’s a sample post:

The root of all evil, John Chow, is giving a way an $80 Waterman pen from the promotional pens maker, 1234Pens.com. To enter, you just have to blog about it. This is my entry. Now give me the pen!

After you made the entry, send a trackback or leave a comment with the URL to your post. At the end of this month, I’ll load all entries into the randomizer and have it select a winner. Good luck!

John, are you ever going to start accepting Twittering as a form of entering? Writing a post just for this might be out of the question for some people, but it would fit perfectly for Twitter. Do I win for idea of the day? :D

dcr February 7, 2008 at 8:02 pm

Tumblr would be good too. ;-)

Bryce February 7, 2008 at 9:48 pm

I’m planning to do a Tumblr text post and then just post a comment with the URL.

dcr February 7, 2008 at 10:15 pm

If I didn’t restrict my Tumblr posts to one liners, I’d probably do the same.

dcr February 7, 2008 at 8:03 pm

At first, I thought it said I could win a watermelon pen. That’s what got my attention. It’s a nice pen, but I was expecting something a little different.

Don't TOUCH this!! February 7, 2008 at 8:26 pm

Hey the pen sure looks nice. The contest looks cool too. Is there a guarantee that all who join will win something else, if not the pen ?? maybe a pencil ??

Here is my entry: Naked Sultry Links. I combined it with other stuff, because I try to keep my posts in the 200+ word range. Not terribly hard, mind you, but I do try for some amount of substance, last weekend’s single word post notwithstanding.

I wish my blog was relevant enough to give it a shot. BTW, can we use more than 1 blogs for the entry? Just curious….

John Chow February 8, 2008 at 12:07 pm

Use as many blogs as you want.

Simon Lau February 8, 2008 at 4:39 am

If you think that’s expensive, check out Mont Blanc pens! Which you can make cheaper version of using their refillable inkpacks and hacking up an old Pilot G2: http://tinyurl.com/2cxkdm
