Thankfully, there’s pretty good online tax filing software available for US residents including TurboTax, TaxACT, and H&R Block At Home (for Canadians, QuickTax is a good one). Check out the reviews of each.

And in order to promote the benefits of quick and easy online tax filing, the Money Crashers personal finance blog is holding an awesome contest giving away 3 brand new Apple iPads.

The first comment thread made me laugh. I'm already done with my gf's taxes, and mine are too complicated so my accountant does it. Good luck everyone!

Bryan

I suppose if I do win won, I'll sell it on Craigslist to offset the balance I owe from taxes ;)

I hope the government in my country can encourage us to pay tax through lucky draw.

Maybe they will someday

Hey John,

This is an amazing news... I wasn't aware of this fact. But surely going to give it a try.

Thanks for informing us about it.

Heheheheh....taxes are a sensitive topic at the best of times, and nobody likes to pay more than the absolute bare minimum in order to stay out of trouble. Baiting the trap with an iPad hardly gets me excited about paying up....

same here...but you'd be surprised at how much impact the ipad is having on people...some people will do just about anything to win one...

Great ;) It's been a while since we've seen any contest posts

Yeah I've noticed the lack too. It seems like there aren't that many contests anywhere at this point.

Wow, I'm surprised what there doing now a days to get you to do your taxes.

Or, creative techniques to get visitors, readers, emails, make products and services visible...and yes, they do advertise taxes :-)

Agreed, thanks for the responce

Agreed, thanks for the response

Interesting marketing approach on their end...I may try a few methods of getting entries and see what happends...

Sweet deal, thanks for the heads up John. I really would like to get my hands on one of those Apple iPads. :)

Ya me too. I tried one out the other day. Its Awesome!

John thanks maybe some reader of this blog wins it...im already in ....maybe they accept europeans.

What if I don't want to pay tax?! :)

Then don't make any taxable income. :)

Just don't pay taxes and go to jail. har! har! har!

But that's no fun either John!

Then wait for penalties :p

I hope this offer will come soon in my town

Hope this online tax system arrive in my country soon. It give me a headache by doing it in off line.

hopefully it will!

Pay tax and win an ipad, woooow

unless you have already filed your taxes...in which case you can still have a chance at winning :-)

Awesome, everyone wins or at least has a chance of winning.

Wow, I'd like an iPad too!

Everyone do my friend.

Every tech lover would love to have one in his/her hand.

well maybe,, i call this "amazing 21st century creation" the douchepad :).. expected a lot more but its still not bad when comparing to some cheap netbooks (they still can multitask and have a webcam) shooot!!

Is this available for Asians too?

I don't think race has anything to do with being able to win an ipad...now location might be something different :-)

LOL, that was very witty indeed! I have the same question about Africans, South Africans in particular, but it has now been answered ;-)

LOL...glad someone got it ;-P

it should be for the US residents i suppose. Although this has nothing to do with race :)

haha, funny. Pulling a joke!
