Windows Logo Planted On Upcoming Apple Store

Who says Windows users are not creative? Over in the Jungfernstieg section of Hamburg, Germany, a group going by the name of “.WAV Collective” decided to vandalize a soon-to-be Apple Store. The team casually went up to the building posing as construction workers, cordoned off a work site, and proceeded to screw pre-made panels, forming a Windows logo, to the side of the store’s black veil. And they did it all in broad daylight.

While I’m sure Bill Gates will be laughing his ass off after seeing the video, I doubt this piece of work was sponsored by Microsoft. As for the .Wav Collective. Maybe you guys should have blurred out your faces in the video? I’m sure Apple has a warrant out for your arrest right now.

How is that for bravery and creativity! I guess it would have been god PR for both Apple and Windows.

    1. That is pretty funny, even though I am partial to Macs.

      1. I don*t find it particularly creative. Microsoft and their logo is obvious competitor and something that anybody could come up with. Had they come up with something totally different that nobody knows it might have been better.

To me the people who did this are most likely admireres of Microsoft and jealous of Apple. Apple will likely get more out of it than Microsoft.

I cannot imagine Apple devotees doing this to a Microsoft store. Can you?

Define a windows store? It’s a OS mainly you won’t find a windows store filled with windows hardware as they are a software company.

It’s a fun gag who cares, it made free mentions across the world and in papers. Everyone is happy.

    2. That’s showing the role of confidence … Just look at the way they completed this task so easily.

    3. Bravery or stupidity? I gotta think Apple’s lawyers have been put to task to find out who these guys were. I could see Steve J going completely bananas over this…or, better, yet, somehow figuring out how to turn into into a boatload more free press for Apple 🙂

      1. Apple can only benefit from stuff like this. The guys who did this may have been hired. It makes MS fans look desperate or even fearful of another Apple store.

  2. Jared Silver says:

    Wow!

    That’s pretty hilarious!

I bet we’ll see an internet meme form out of this…

      Definitely hilarious.

Just the type of thing that would make Steve Jobs blood boil.

While Apple has some great products, some of their business practices, particularly in the area of abusing legal systems and legal authorities, are quite a bit less than savory.

I hope the laws aren’t too harsh there that these folks would be overly punished. While technically it may be vandalism, it is also a statement. If the offenders are harshly dealt with, it could turn into a martyrdom of sorts.

      1. krillz says:

The store will most likely be uncovered, the black panels are there to “prevent people from seeing the present” before being unwrapped and it will with 99% be a glass covered front.

Screwing a windows logo onto panels that will be removed and not part of the fasade would be nazi to go after and prosecute with fines and what not right?

        1. good point, and I’m sure they would take into account that it was just a fun prank that hurt nothing and no one. If anything it just helped Apple.

    2. I’m surprised no one asked them what they were doing.

      1. its actually a common tactic for “taggers” to wear a type of uniform. The reason they wear the uniform is because people tend to not pay attention because they look as if they belong, or “official”, so they are immediately disregarded by passing public, and even management or official types a lot of times.

  3. Nishant Soni says:

    Lol that was funny man.
thanks for the heads up jhon.

  4. Minimalog says:

haha! doing this in broad daylight? well that definitely takes some guts. imagine steve’s reaction…

    1. PPC Ian says:

That’s for sure. It’s really crazy how they took their time and took a video. You can clearly make out their faces so I wonder if they will get in some sort of legal trouble as a result of this action. We shall see. Definitely not something I would advise.

    2. Kevin Kimes says:

Sometimes plain sight is the best place to hide something. Even if the thing is an activity.

    3. It sure takes a set of you know what.

  5. fazal mayar says:

    thats hilarious! good stuff

  6. rakesh kumar says:

That’s interesting! this way windows has attracted a lots of person, but it automatically says “We are now worried”

    1. I think it undermines Microsoft more than it promotes them. Imagine the people that will now expect Microsoft store there finding that it is an Apple store.

  7. Very Good, more stuff.

  8. Seconds later they are already taking pictures.
    Good publicity for both 🙂

    1. Kevin Kimes says:

Yes, you can see a passerby pulling out her camera and clicking a shot before she continues on. I suspect most locals are aware that it will be an Apple store, recognize the Windows logo, and realize the incongruency.

  9. Bogati says:

Wow it’s wonderful! Really window users are creative, no doubt. Noce clip John

  10. Elizbath says:

Thats really funny that windows logo on Apple store…..

    1. I don’t know about you but I think this is serious. This is a picture of bad competition. Whoever was behind this I think you are underestimating apple.

  11. Alexis says:

That’s uncanny. I’m asking myself who are those guys and who sponsored their brave action.

    1. Can’t believe Apple is going to allow that to happen?

      1. Apple will only benefit from it and Microsoft will look desperate and silly even if they had nothing to do with the stunt.

  12. Charles says:

    Lol, Apple just got Madoff’ed!

  13. fas says:

How stupid can one get? Not something nice that they did.

  14. Chris says:

Thats pretty funny. takes some guts to do that

  15. Louie Sison says:

    Good to the two guys.

  16. PPC Ian says:

Wow! That’s crazy. I can’t believe they pulled that off in broad daylight.

    1. I think that nobody was watching for this kind of thing so it doesn*t surprise me that nobody noticed or cared and the guys temporarily got away with it.

  17. Kent says:

Haha..stupid. Those guys are going to Jail

    1. Nope they are not going to any where …

    2. Haahah lol……..

  18. Those guys are brave but not that smart because they showoff their faces.

    1. May be they intentionally did it … Who knows …

  19. Robert says:

Haha, i am living in Hamburg near the new store. If you need any more pictures, contact me 🙂
Best regards to John! Greetings from Hamburg City (which is, by the way, pretty comparable to Vancouver in my eyes)

    1. Hey Robert,

I don*t know the city of Hamburg except that it is a great port like Vancouver. As far as the surroundings though, Vancouver has mountains which I think are lacking in Hamburg.

  20. Pretty article and no doubt its hilarious…!!!

  21. Thanks for the sharing dude, keep more sharing with us for our information.

    1. Mac and PC are both very good and useful. I wouldn*t want to knock down either.

  22. Andrew says:

I can only say: “Well done guys!!!”

  23. d3so says:

Those guys probably had iphones and apple could backtrack to catch them 😉

    1. Hats off to your imagination …. Lolzzz

  24. Patrick says:

    The is too funny!

  25. The video make it look so legit.

  26. Lot’s of things to think about windows user and no body can ignore them. Thank you John for such an Article.

  27. PC = 1 MAC = 0

    Mac turn ….

    1. If I were a PC die hard fan I*m note sure if I would rejoice over this or if I*d feel funny. I don*t think that Mac would ever stoop to doing stunts like this. They aren*t that desperate.

  28. Kavya Hari says:

Yeah, it’s really funny 🙂 But it has an high quality pictures on here 🙂

  29. Will says:

Fantastic. I am loving it. Unfortunately I am sure the guys will get a pounch in the face in a bar one day from some apple appostles from not hiding their faces.

    1. it always amazes me how many people immediately consider or even resort to violence over such inane things such as a ‘brand’ or a sports team. Heck just resorting to violence so quickly for any reason really leaves me scratching my head, especially considering the amount we are drilled since we are young to not be violent.

  30. Hugh Kimura says:

Haha, that’s awesome. Even though they posted the Windows logo, I don’t believe that they were PC guys.

It was just a artistic statement. Probably street artists.

After all, have you actually used Windows?

  31. Great Approach duds, ha ha (Windows after all)

  32. The apple company has expanding a lot nice to hear that news

  33. Forex News says:

Wow it’s wonderful! Really window users are creative, no doubt. Noce clip John
