WordPress 2.9.2 Available For Download

I would just use pingomatic for it - its included in wordpress by default. It pings all the important ping places for you. I tried to add others and it REALLY messed up my blog in the past by slowing down my site.

Yes, if you're the only author in your blog then you don't need to update. Just wait for 2.9.3... or v3 - which should be awesome!

It takes a few seconds to update your blog. It does it automatically-- why not update?

I do that with big updates like 2.8 to 2.9. There's always something that pops up a few days later and you have to reupdate!

And that's the type of people that end up getting their blogs hacked.

Seriously, hackers can find your blog via Google if it isn't updated. Then you'll be out of luck.

Are you running an updated version of WordPress? You are able to trash/spam/edit/etc all in place within your admin panel. It's instant.

That thing annoys the hell out of me too.

That message is the WORST! I wish there was a way to disable it unless it''s a MAJOR security patch.

I always have that friggin notice for plugins, always up there.

It's not worth it unless you have a multi-author blog. That's all it does is give you security if you do.

Do not ignore even minor update.

A single loop hole can cost your whole blog. So download it now.

Not in this case. It's just a flaw that allows authors to see the posts of others. Nothing life-threatening at all.

Very true but I do feel that they know very much about their functions.

It is very useful. never clicked 'delete' by accident, either because your page was still loading, because you thought you deleted another post, touched your touchpad acidentally or whatever reason?

I like the second chance bit! I've pressed delete too many times in my life and regretted it afterwards. I can not believe that such a minor thing warrants a whole new update to WordPress, however. Personally I'll wait for the 2.9.3 upgrade!

I like the second chance too.. you never know when you might need to recover something! plus, it automatically deletes after a few weeks

You may regret something that you already deleted -- so it is wise to move it to trash first and then after think, you can delete it.
