Wow, That Was A Lot Of Rain!

written by John Chow on November 16th, 2006

We got hit with heavy rain and wind last night that knocked out my TV and internet connection for the entire evening. At least my house still had power. They had a total blackout just up the block. When I was driving to my Chinese class last night, I also discovered that some of the street lights and signals have been knocked out as well. Many main streets had to resort to the 4-way stop procedure.

I was hoping that by the time I got back from class, everything would be back to normal but no such luck. I still had no TV and no internet. So I got caught up with a bunch of shows that were recorded on my PVR.

I’m glad to see both TV and Net back up this morning. I have a lot of stuff to catch up on. I should try to do as much as I can before heading out for dinner. We’re going to Hy’s Steakhouse tonight. I haven’t been to Hy’s in a while. It should be Good.

Today was much better than yesterday, but still rain on and off. I am taking level two mandarin. I have two more classes and then it’s over. I may go on to level 3, but I think I will take a break from it first.

Sorry, looks like my above comment was corrupted.
What i wanted to say is:
These are my most productive days. When I have no email and am not distracted due to visiting website, I accomplish many things that I have procrastinated for a long time.

Are you in PA? We’ve been having a lot of rain and its not unusual for the traffic lights to go out.
