Yesterday We Played With Our Balls

written by John Chow on November 10th, 2006

This episode of Rainbow was made for the studio’s New Year’s party. It was never broadcast on TV. Rainbow was, for the most part, a perfectly normal children’s puppet and costume character type of show.

Mr. Chow,

For some reason the Youtube posts never work for me when I view your page in FireFox. IE works but FF doesn’t and this only happens on your page. Maybe its just me? Anyhow keep up the good work. Your blog motivates me alot. thanks

Best Regards,
Matt Stidham

That’s strange. It works for me in Firefox. Here’s the link to YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUzxdulMGN4

Now, I know why Chow needed alarm clock to wake up at 11 a.m. Because as at 2 a.m and possibly longer, he is still pounding the keyboard because of us.

keep up the good work mentor.

It works well for me on both too. That is why I agreed with you that my subscribers’ and Matt’s problems are strange.

LOL… Thats not the rainbow I grew up with :) I even saw Zippy live on stage once. Lucky me.

As you say, it was a one off that was never broadcast.

Hahaha….Seen this one before on a British forum. It’s a classic.

The writers must have been going through a bit of a dry spell and were feeling slightly amorous when they put this to script :D

Matt, are you using the latest version of FF. I had the same problem when I came here until I upgraded.

Growing up in the U.K. I remember this show from the 70’s very well. Watching this ‘private-stock’ version had me rolling in laughter. I wonder how many takes/how long it took to make the one-off special without everyone breaking down in fits of laughter. All I can think is that making the show must have been great fun!

Geezus. That’s kinda scary…puppets talking about twangers and plucking.

I’m using FF too and have the same problem. It’s the newest version too. The mouse pointer flickers when hovering over the clip but doesn’t turn into a hand.

It works for me both in IE and Firefox. I don’t know why it’s not working for some people. Here’s the link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUzxdulMGN4

yes, i use mozilla, and none of the utubelinks work. i do have the same prob. downloading stuff sometimes…i thinktheres a refernceing flag default to OFF in mozilla, which can stop a site downloading to you. i dont understand it fully, but for eg, the ati.com site wont dload new drivers to me through FF, and cites this flag as a possible reason. i darent try and turn it on, in case it opens the door to loads of nasty stuff….i hvae found far fewer nasties trying to get in since i switched to firefox from IE.

i like your site by the way.
