This Driving with John Chow is a follow up to my driving episode about looking rich vs. being rich.
While everyone in the comments seem to agree that it’s better to be rich than to look rich, the fact of the matter is most of society has bought into the hype that when you look rich, you feel rich, therefore you are rich. We all know that is not true.
All of this has a lot to do with mind and matter. People are very mindful of what others think of them. This is just being human. We all want to be accepted. However, I think it’s goes too far when it forces some people to spend every dollar they have to “look the part.”
As Michael Kwan would say, “Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Words to live by.
