In my post on how to move a subscriber from one list to another, William Rodgers of The Marketing Secrets Blog made a comment about the PayPal app that Aweber offers which allow you to add PayPal customers to your email list when they purchase a product. I wrote about this a while back.
What I want to show you today is another PayPal Aweber trick: how to integrate Aweber with PayPal subscriptions. This will be extremely useful if you offer paid newsletter subscriptions. By integrating Aweber with PayPal, you’ll be able to manage subscribers with ease.
You can use this feature for anything requiring PayPal subscription. This will work great with membership sites or advertising sales (all my ads are sold with PayPal subscription). Adding value through an email campaign tied to a subscription is a great idea, and gives customers another reason to stay with you. Here’s how to do it.
1 – Set Up A PayPal Subscription
The first step in setting up this integration is to create a subscription in PayPal. I did a screencast video on how to do this while ago. You can watch it below.
2 – Set Up The Aweber PayPal App
The next step is to set up the PayPal app in your AWeber account. You can find the app at the My Apps page of your Aweber admin. The following video will explain the step by step.
Once the two steps are completed, your PayPal subscription will be automated with Aweber. When customers buy a subscription, AWeber will automatically add them to your list. Then, if they cancel their payment, they will be unsubscribed. When they catch back up on their payments, they go back on the list – everything is automated.
By setting this up, you’ll also be able to use all the features I talked about in my previous blog post about Aweber automation rule, which allows you to move customers to new lists when they make a purchase and having a different list for each product that you offer.
