How To Boost Your Online Productivity

Every time I look at the end of a year, I try and figure out things that worked out and those that didn’t. I then write down ways to change my habits so it brings me closer to my ultimate objective. However, it can be pretty difficult to know what you need to change if you don’t have a clear vision of what you’re trying to achieve and this should have been figured out before starting your business or blog. Either way, we all made mistakes throughout the year and I wanted to go back and write mine down for all of you. You can then go through and tweak them if you feel like they’ll help you out going forward.

This task does not require too much time, only the commitment to improve your performance and work.

Here are the “4” things I’ll be paying close attention to going forward.

Content Writing

I write roughly 3,000-4,000 words daily and this can be time consuming. My content creation process is divided up between guest blogging, my personal blog, and link building campaigns. I’m currently writing all the content myself, which can be very tedious and time consuming. For example, when writing content for my link building websites or PBN (private blog network), I can simply freelance this work out. I write around 3 x 500 words daily for my link building, which means hiring someone to do this work will allow me to spend more time on guest blogging or publishing on my personal blog. There is only so much one person can do and after a while, it simply becomes tiring and the quality of your work begins to suffer.

Going forward, I’ll hire someone to write my link building content because it’s cost effective and I’ll be able to put my effort where the ROI is better. Guest blogging creates brand awareness and writing for my own blog creates growth and credibility. Here’s what’s important for me…

You can hire people for very little money and give them a bonus if the work is completed on time. You save enormous time and can focus on the things that really matter.

Exercise

I can’t stress how important exercise is in being successful. With a solid exercise program, you stay active and your mind fresh, which helps you produce great ideas going forward. With a regular exercise schedule, you’ll be able to fine tune your mind and body, allowing it to release endorphins into your system. Endorphins are your body’s natural pain killers that play an important role in mood, drive, enjoyment, and motivation, and these all lead to success. From 2008-2013, I was on a regular exercise schedule and fell short later this year in 2014. I noticed a huge difference as I was more tired and didn’t have as much energy during the night. What’s my plan?

Incorporate an exercise schedule into my lifestyle. I’ll start slow running 2-3 times per week, adding weights going forward once I become more comfortable. This will help me stay focused, disciplined, and keep pushing me in the right direction.

Creating Videos

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot from my experience and fellow bloggers within the industry. YouTube.com has shed light on the growing trend that is video tutorials. These videos resonate well with readers because they provide a visual aid to an otherwise common problem. Top bloggers drive thousands of visitors each month through their YouTube.com channel, translating into subscribers, engagement, and profits. It’s time you join the growing trend or you’ll be left behind. YouTube has grown in popular each year, so you know it’s not slowing down. If you have a popular niche with low competition, you’ll generate thousands of leads through YouTube.com.

I currently own 3 niche websites that are targeted and very specific. In 2015, my objective is to learn to create, edit, and upload videos into YouTube regularly. I want to try several things that I’ve been keeping an eye on and learned from other bloggers. I’ll even create a case study based on the popularity of YouTube.com as a tool to convert visitors into profits.

Guest Blogging

I’ve said it once and will say it again…Guest blogging is the way to go!

From the beginning, I was told guest posting on authority blogs is the best for growth, awareness, and credibility. Over the years, this statement continues to be true and I would recommend all of you to find opportunities for your own. I have a specific plan I follow when I submit guest content to bloggers. For example, make sure it’s high quality, consistent, and we must be very humble for having the opportunity. I’m very lucky to post content on JohnChow.com, especially because I’ve been following his content for years. In 2015, I’ll be searching for more guest blogging opportunities and be providing some on my blog as well. If “1” authority blog can generating enormous traffic, then imagine what publishing on 2-3 per month can do for you.

Again, if this is something you will be activity pursuing in 2015…remember…

  • Make sure content is relevant
  • High quality
  • Solves a common problem
  • Be in your own voice
  • Original and unique
  • You must do your own research
  • Don’t forget to promote through outreach

On a side note, if you’ve just started a blog, I would highly recommend “guest posting” for growth as finding the right opportunity can generate awareness very quickly.
