A common piece of advice you might receive is never to put all your eggs in one basket. H However, dividing your eggs over a number of separate baskets can present another problem: how are you going to manage all those baskets? And how can you decide which basket is the one that deserves the most attention?
In the context of Internet marketing and making money from websites, this might mean signing up for a number of different ad networks. Then, you’ve got to figure out which network is going to generate the greatest profit for you. What if you didn’t have to choose? Today, we’re going to review an online service called AdSpyglass, which promises to “increase your income [by] up to 200%.”
The Ads Management System
The basic idea behind AdSpyglass is that you can connect a number of different ad brokers to your single account and the system will automatically work out where to sell the views for the greatest possible profit. You can manage all your ads from one place and maximize your revenue.
At this time, AdSpyglass has been configured to handle two types of ad placements. It can handle the standard array of ad banners, like the ones you may integrate into the sidebar or into the header of your website. It can also handle popunder ads, which are increasing in popularity among both ad networks and advertisers.
You can add as many ad spots as you’d like to your connect, including as many websites as you’d like. Once you have everything set up and configured, you simply insert the ad code into your website like how you would if you had received the code directly from the individual advertising network.
Bringing All the Networks to the Yard
AdSpyglass supports a number of ad brokers, some of which may be more familiar names in this space than others.
You will find a good range of ad brokers here that should accommodate a variety of verticals and niches. Naturally, it helps a lot if you already have accounts with these networks. Otherwise, you’ll need to sign up for them before moving forward.
While you could proceed with just a couple of accounts with two different brokers, AdSpyglass recommends starting with at least three or four in order to see any significant advantage. The more you add, the better chance you have at getting top dollar for your advertising space.
Dashboard and Getting Started
It doesn’t cost you anything to sign up for an account with AdSpyglass and you are offered 30 days of free access to familiarize yourself with the system. Approval, in my experience, only took a couple of minutes.
What you see here is the main dashboard, which should feel familiar for anyone who has worked with at least a few different affiliate networks in the past. All of the main navigation is along the left and the main dashboard gives you an overview of your current activity and income history.
The help section provides a step-by-step tutorial for how to get setup with AdSpyglass. The writing itself is a little rough around the edges, but it gets the message across and is reasonably easy to follow.
Here is what the campaign page looks like. Each campaign can be thought of as each placement that you would like to populate using AdSpyglass. They recommend that if you have a larger site that you have a dedicated campaign for each placement. If you have a number of smaller sites, you can use the same campaign across multiple sites in order to bolster the total traffic going through that campaign. That’s how you can best optimize your revenue.
Of course, you’ll want to get a handle on your numbers and the reporting system in AdSpyglass is quite robust. You can track your hits, income, clicks and broker hits over a defined period of time. Hopefully all of those lines trend upward the longer you stick around.
The system will automatically find high rate offers, cycling through them so that your visitors do not keep seeing the same ads over and over again. The system will also work toward a 100% fill rate, ensuring that you are monetizing each and every view.
The Cost-Benefit Analysis
Rather than using the conventional model of a monthly plan with a maximum number of impressions, AdSpyglass offers different packages that include a set number of hits. It doesn’t matter if it takes you 5 days, 5 weeks or 5 months to use up all of those hits. The $300 ASG-300 package, for instance, will accommodate up to 5 million pop-unders or up to 50 million banners ($0.06 CPM and $0.006 CPM, respectively).
Based on some hypothetical numbers entered into the AdSpyglass calculator, this $300 investment would yield over $4,000 in additional profit. Results may vary, of course, but if this holds up to be true, that’s a pretty great ROI.
If you’re already using some of the supported ad networks, you might want to register with AdSpyglass to see if you really can increase your income by up to 200%. There’s only one way to find out.
